  1. My wife became a US citizen on Friday along with about 100 others at Indianapolis. The journey that began almost 7 years ago has finally come to an end! So grateful to everyone on this forum who helped with advice over the years! She was able to apply for her US passport and register to vote....and I even got a nice photo of her together with the judge who presided over the swearing in!

    Eternally Grateful!

  2. My wife went to her interview this morning. It went okay, however the IO's native language was not English and my wife had a terrible time understanding anything the officer was saying to her, and at one point even threatened to stop the interview and reschedule with a different IO. Somehow she got through it and was given a piece of paper that had "recommended for approval"box checked, so I'm assuming we're waiting for the oath ceremony date (IO wasn't very clear about that either)!

Thank God we're almost done with USCIS!!!

    Good evening everyone,

this evening at 7:00 pm I received a text message and an email that my status was updated, run to the app and it says new card is being produced( case trucker).

I applied on 1/2/2018 NOA 1/4/2018 WAC18096*****, the last update was 4/12/2018 your case was transferred and a new office has jurisdiction .

the funny thing my wife called this afternoon to the automated phone number at 4 pm and it was still saying on 4/12 was transferred to Arlington Virginia.

one more thing to share, I applied for N400 NOA 1/2/2019 and fingerprint was done 01/16/2019, advised by the attorney not to waste time and wait for the GC.

good luck to you guys and I hope you hear good news soon.

Congrats! We just got the "New Card Being Produced" message this morning! We filed on 1/18/18. We plan on filing the N400 as soon as we receive my wife's green card in the mail.

Has anybody else received this letter?

”Due to a processing error on May 4, 2018, we mailed you a biometric service appointment notice with an incorrect Application Support Center location...”?

We got the same letter today and it makes absolutely no sense because my wife's appointment was at the local ASC/Field office which IS the closest one to our address! I guess we'll just ignore the letter because she already went to the appointment.

Just got done with my biometrics appointment. I got there at 8:30 am for my 9am appointment. I was in and out within 10 mins. Quick question to though! Did they return to you your appointment notice and applicant information worksheet after you're done? I have both with me. The process was relatively quick and I kept on thinking I missed something

My wife had her biometric appointment this morning and with around a dozen or so others there for the same, it took about 15 minutes. When she finished they stamped her appointment letter and gave it back to her. The staff there were actually friendly and talkative this time!

  6. Not sure exactly why some posters are being waived and others aren't for the biometric appointment, but in my wife's case the biometric fingerprint scan she had for her AOS wouldn't scan her fingerprints properly (maybe the machine wasn't working properly), so they told her to just get a statement from our local city police department that stated that she had no arrests or criminal history and AOS was approved a week later so I guess it makes sense they would request biometrics again so, not worried about this in the least. I'm thinking that at some point after biometrics are taken this time, we can go ahead and submit the N-400 concurrent with our pending I-751.

So the old "my uscis cases" won't be valid anymore? 😕 I even tried to check the status under the new website and it seems just the 1-751's are having that glitch. Any other cases had been updated.

Honestly this is very frustrating I was reading through the "processing times" and it can take up to 19months to be processed (at field office) 😓

We Created an account on the new website and now it shows all the information about both the biometric fee and the I-751 status including the dates they were received. I like it better than the old website/system. Haven't tried entering old receipt #s, but I suspect they are all still accessible as well on the new site.

I wish I have reference with the extension, but I personally think that the extension is from when your GC expires because, Our GC is what they are extending for, I mean our status basically, (conditional) and their point of reference is the date of expiration in our GC.

Yes, I think you're correct. They're extending the GC expiration (date) by 1 year.

We also did the same you did and you and us have same dates and center.. our check was cashed this morning. Was yours cashed too?

No, it hasn't posted to our checking account yet....but our bank usually waits until the next day before it posts, so hopefully I'll see something tomorrow morning. LOL they cash our checks with lightning speed but adjudicate our petitions ever so slowly!!

Agreed.. I also have read many cases of people being approved without affidavits .. we didn’t send any either. We’ll see what happens

We didn't send any affidavits. In the letter we got, it doesn't even mention affidavits in the list of suggested evidence we should include, but lists mainly financial related evidence that shows co-mingling of assets and obligations. Affidavits are mentioned in the online instructions though, however I would think that it's among the weakest evidence one could show because anybody can write one saying anything about anybody. We sent photographs, but I don't think they really carry much weight either.

    Filed I-751 on 01/17/18

  11. We had our interview yesterday morning. The officer was very pleasant and kept reassuring my wife that she was doing fine. I walked in with my wife and wife's interpreter and the officer right away said that the interview was only going to be about my wife as I had already been approved early on in the process. My wife and interpreter were given the oath and sat down. I was not given an oath and just sat in the back and watched. I was expecting relationship questions like how we met & that sort of stuff, but wife was just asked what my name was and when was my birthday and then switched right away to questions about jobs my wife had back home. The whole thing lasted about 30 minutes.

When the officer was finished my wife was told everything seems fine but because my wife's fingerprints were rejected twice for the FBI clearance we were given a RFE to get a police clearance from our local police department, which we've already done and mailed back in. Soooo.....I'm hopefully optimistic that my wife will be approved in a few days!
