If you have records of previous shots you could take those to the doctor’s office so you won’t have to get those shots again (helps with pricing too). Other than that...your alien number and a picture ID.

And check the whole medical exam report when they hand it to you, any typos etc.

I mean... first thing is to make an appointment :) some places are pretty booked and some are available even for the same day.

Thank you so much everyone. Shipped my medical exam as response to RFE today.

has anyone experienced this situation when Uscis local office requests RFE for medicals and how long it usually takes for them to make a decision (hoping without interview) once medicals are received by them?

praying for all and wishing all patience...

You can apply but you are unlikely to actually get a green card via it. That being said you don't really jeopardize anything by trying.

In order to do AOS, you basically would have had to maintain continuous non-immigrant status since you entered.

In order to do consular processing, you either need to have less than 180 days of unlawful presence, which would let you leave, not get a re-entry bar, get your immigrant visa, and return. Finally, there's the I-601A waiver for which you need a USC or LPR, Spouse and/or Parent(s) who'd suffer extreme hardship from your absence. That being said, I know I-601A can be used for DV lottery but I don't know of any cases where it was done.

Thank you. I meant I have I-360 approved and have AOS pending now. I am in the USA waiting for the decision. At the same time there is this lottery now which I am debating on either apply for or not

  3. Apologies guys but did anyone here went through naturalization with previously vawa green card approved? Asking because needing to know what documents have to be submitted? Uscis site says if naturalization is based on marriage then marriage certificate and divorce decree need to be provided. Is our vawa considered to be marriage based and so we need to submit marriage documents?

Thank you @Stillwinning!!!😊 I appreciate your support and you helped a lot. Praying for everyone.

Wow in my opinion that sounds like great news. They will most likely approve your GC without an interview. I wish they would choose this way for my approval 🙈  I had my medicals done in 4 days I guess. You have plenty of time to get it done and send it to them.

    Good luck!!!!

    Thanks so much.

could you please help me to see what do I need to bring for medical exam appointment?

I did one in 2017 when was doing my I130/I485 via my abusive ex-spouse.

  6. dear friends

Received a medical exam RFE. They sent it on Oct 5 and attorney just told me which is Oct 12. Due date for them to receive it is by Nov 5.  Received from local uscis office.

why the due date is so soon and is it a good sign? Can they approve the case without interview? Letter says they will make a decision on the case once medicals received. Also courtesy letter on medicals was received in August.

Oh okay just.. take all the documents showing the prenup and Divorce with you also I took with me (originals). Officer took the divorce decree to update my file.

    all passports

    , birth certificate,

I-94, proof of Income and tax returns do I-864w ( just to be safe)

    Medical examination

    Driver license

    All EAD cards

    divorce Decree

abstract of marriage, certificate of mariage

    bills, pictures and bank statements.

As a reminder officer only asked me my spouse name. But nothing about my past marriage or abuse.

but interview was very tricky specially about yes or no question. Please review the I-485 that you sent read and remember what you said.

something I remember also is traffic ticket take with you any court related traffic ticket. The officer took it and asked me if there was anybody injured in the accident I was into, thanks God the response was no.

from that point I knew USCIS knows every little thing about us

Thank you for sharing as I am also in a similar situation.

What is I864 and what is abstract of marriage? I also thought good faith marriage proof Docs like pics and bills is not needed for Vawa i485 interview?

not to mean to double question here but @sandranj and @Stillwinning!!!😊 _ would the list above be exhaustive and what is needed for the interview?

Yes it's just about the usual time..and congrats dear!😀👍 I don't know your field office but be prepared to wait for as long as it takes to either be scheduled for interview or be approved without one! It's been a while I heard of anyone been scheduled..be watchful from here!🙏

Thank you @Stillwinning!!!😊 @sandranj @Engineering-rocks and everyone else (sorry if missed anyone as you all are great and have been so helpful to me).

I don't believe they are picky picky over tax returns.  Submit tax transcripts for the past three years.  They want to see if you are being a responsible and filing your income taxes as required.

thank you as having a similar situation- thing is my cpa might have been not ethical as what I heard lately from others. This link made me worried especially for me as if I made a mistake it was not intentional at all

  10. Hi dear community - if you are in naturalization process now: did you submit your past year tax returns? I read that you can bring them to the interview. How scrutinized uscis is in reviewing tax returns? I have been filing my tax returns and getting refunds usually. Do they check tax returns only for a period since once became a green card holder?

asking all this as I don’t think uscis is trained to be a cpa to check taxes.

any bad experience you have had as it relates to taxes checks from uscis will be appreciated.

The courtesy letter is often to remind us to update or provide missing documents not just specifically medicals! Others get different requests..depending on what is lacking or expired and needs to be updated! But most of us get the request to have our medicals updated mostly because of the time it takes to adjudicate the petition..in that the validity of the previously submitted document may have elapsed! No, courtesy letter and interview letter are not the same thing. The former explains what I just described above, while the latter is an actual invitation to a scheduled interview!😊👍

Thank you @Stillwinning!!!😊 you are amazing

You have a good point we can try for that but in the courtesy letter it’s written to wait until and unless either you got a RFE or you got the interview letter so I think we can contact our congressmen or senator so that they can enquirer on our behalf that since the USCIS is slow can they waive out the interview and send an RFE for medical so that we can have our green card for sooner.

Sorry what does it say in a courtesy letter to wait for? Are courtesy letter and interview letter the same thing? I’dont think there is rfe for medical sunless I am mistaken as they just send courtesy elders instead?

  13. Hello deal friends,

Is filing for ead C9 renewal by oneself is okay? My attorney charges $500 for this. I think address that USCIS has on file is my attorneys office though. Can I file for renewal myself and ask to send ead to my home address?

to all our here - attorneys are waste of money unless the case goes to deportations.

basically I asked attorney about reaching out to congressperson to speed up the I-485 scheduling. She said my case is on time as I filed in nov 2018 and got ead c31 issued on April 2020. No I-360 approval letter yet though.

I am just stuck with this attorney which is honestly useless.....

I have use my congress man, and they helped my case a lot, my lawyer had no problem with it she told, they are there to help the community with federal agency.

That’s awesome and I am so happy for you!

how and what they helped with? Say my status does not update online - can they help to push USCIS to update it? Can they push USCIS to move my I-485 to queue ASAP?

  15. 2 minutes ago, FeDaniela said:

I am in your same shoes, i will inquiry to my congress person as soon USCIS officially opens up.

Do you have a lawyer? I will talk to my lawyer first but as usual she will be skeptical or will just say to wait. She told me wait time for her actual approval letter for I-360 is up to 8 months.

unless I don’t push myself will just have to wait. Any advice from anyone as to is it in our hands / destiny to move this I-485 thing quicker or we just need to patiently wait and wait?

  16. 3 minutes ago, FeDaniela said:

No, you are consenting for congress office to inquiry on behalf of your case and have access to your case number and get information on processing time, expediting etc with USCIS.

USCIS will not violate your case confidentiality and privacy.

Thank you - at what point it’s reasonable to  ask congressman for help? No word on I-360 approval though I have got EAD C31. No Online word on I-485 status update

You can enquire through your congressperson. They were the greatest resource for me. My attorney was just complacent..it was my senator that got things moving for me! You will be given a privacy release form which you'll fill out including salient information pertaining to your case, probably copy of the receipt notice for the case. Sometimes you don't get the update about the transfer, but it probably happened! Talk to you representative ASAP!👍

Thank you - would you mean my vawa case confidential info will be released to congressman (including like evidence of abuse and things?)

would you mean it took like 3 months to get approval letter of the I-360? I got my C31 EAD a month ago and still not change to either 360 or 485 statuses......

when should I ask my congressperson to step in as well? If anyone did it and how much did it really help?

You "submit all available written records of vaccination history for review." https://www.cdc.gov/immigrantrefugeehealth/exams/ti/civil/vaccination-civil-technical-instructions.html

    Age chart: https://www.cdc.gov/immigrantrefugeehealth/pdf/Vaccine-Requirements-According-to-Applicant-Age.pdf

Cross-reference shots in the previous link with following link: https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/schedules/hcp/imz/adult.html Most doses should remain valid.

Thank you so much. Will go over the links. It can definitely be complicated to understand these all.

In general - if I did my medical exam in June 2017 (had some vaccinations already in place plus also got all vaccinations missed / not done in my home country) - should I be fine till like 2022 without worrying to get vaccinations again last minute? Sadly but it might be around 2022+ I could dream for I-485 interview based on current backlog. Noticed that because of covid-19 interview dates are now pushed back by additional 6-8 months.
