I DIDNT ASK WHATS NEXT. I saw someone with a later NOA2 date getting moved along quicker and mentioned that I will call again to see if something happened with my case since I called. Good for you for helping other people but my post didn't warrant your reply.

How does something that is historical to the process can be construed by you as condescending. These are facts. This has been going on for more than 6 years that I have been helping others.

The problem that I see is that people do not read the thread in its entirety. They stay in one thread and not take advantage of all that is available to them. I see questions asked from people where others have asked the same question. Sometimes, the answer is just above their post. People want to be spoon fed the information. They don't use the search function in VJ. They don't go to the embassy website to unearth answers. They don't use google. They ask questions about their embassy from others who are from Germany, UK, and Nigeria and not from thier countries embassy. How do those people help someone from a different country?  People ask when something is going to happen and, in this day, and age, the entire visa process is ebb and flow. So yes, I pinned "what I know" because you asked. I authored the PDF to help people with the everyday questions because they are asked over and over. I did that for another simple reason, and that is we could spend countless hours answering the same question over and over because people do not read the history of the thread.

I don't have the time, especially since I do this a volunteer, to continue spoon feed people who are not putting forth some effort to understand the process. So yes, my answers are concise and not with a lot of fluff. I don't sugar coat my answer. It straight and to the point and backed up with links to what you can read or verify my answers.

BTW, I haven't seen you help anyone with any type of informational post. Just complaints. It's not a perfect system. Hit has its speed bumps. It won't ever be to yours or anyone else's liking. Learn to adapt. Good luck and stay engaged in the process.

You should consider to be a part of the conversation for your country here on VJ. Go to the blue ribbon above, select "forums" then scroll about three-fourths of the page down and select the region that most represents where your country is located.  There you will find others from your embassy who are asking the same questions or exploring thier next steps.

Here is a good example below.

I have never complained. I didn't even ask a question. I didn't need your help nor did I ask for it. Again, I made an observation about the different timelines. I did read the PDF fully. I've looked through my specific country's forum. I've now requested to close my account

Can I share somethings with you that I learned long ago about this process?

        • "the man with the gold makes the rules"
        • it will take as long as it will take
        • no one with any certainty can tell you when some process will be completed
        • Your sense of urgency will never be equaled to what USCIS, NVC or your embassy demonstrates
        • Your journey is not going to mirror someone else's experience - yours and theirs are not the same
        • They only promised you a YES or NO answer. Never an exact time that their decision would be completed
        • Lowering your expectations will make you a much more relaxed individual

    Good luck on your journey

You know, I've seen you copy and paste this and will say it never helps me, it just comes off condescending. I'm not looking for an exact date. I know this stuff takes time. I don't have high expectations at all. I am allowed to make an observation that people with later NOA2 dates received a case number before mine has even gotten to the NVC. Nothing in my post was complaining about the process, just natural curiosity.

I actually stop myself from posting on VisaJourney because of some of the responses people get. People are much nicer elsewhere.

Did you download a copy of the PDF from the first page first post? Have you read this thread thoroughly to see what others are experiencing? Most here will tell you that is taking 30 to 45 days to get to NVC from USCIS and another 2-4 weeks before a case number is assigned. You're way to early.

I did and I didn't think anything of it until I saw people with NOA2 dates after mine receive their case number. No need to be sassy. I was simply stating that I thought it was strange that this person with a later NOA2 date got their case number and they said mine hadn't even been received yet.

Ah weird--I'm glad it works then!

In case this helps anyone else, I called NVC today to ask about my case number. They directed me to this site for timeframes: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/nvc-timeframes.html. I got my NOA2 on Dec 15th, but the file didn't arrive at the NVC until Jan 5th (the nice lady told me on the phone) so I'll probably need to wait another 2-3 weeks before I get my case number.

My NOA2 was Dec 7 and I called the NVC and they said they haven't received my case yet. That's strange. Maybe I'll call again tomorrow

    Has this been updated recently?

Hoping that it just hasnt and that good things are in fact actually happening...

The last bit of movement I've seen was some cases went from the NVC to the Embassy on Dec 8, but no interviews have been scheduled as far as we know since mid November. I wish the embassy would me more transparent with the process

You can't hurry it along at all. You must wait till you see your date on CEAC change to ready two times. The second change you can send in your P3. A copy of the P3 is linked below. Comply with what they ask for in P3 (the actual one they send you) by sending them a copy of the signed P3 checklist, your DS-160 confirmation and your Passport Bio. Then they send you P4. Then they tell you to register to schedule and you'll wait some more for interviews to open up, which only happens once a month during the last week of the month for two months ahead UNLESS you are lucky and you scoop up a cancellation. Get your medical appointment first so you can schedule the interview shortly afterward.

Packet 3: https://ca.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/27/2016/07/Packet3Instructions-K1.pdf  And Packet 4 for reference also: https://ca.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/27/2016/03/Packet4-MTL.pdf

The consulate in MTL is actually scheduling K1s for the applicants now since they restarted processing again. Nothing has been scheduled for a while but they requested new cases from the NVC in December so things are moving!

Thank you for your inquiry. We recognize your interest in the final adjudication of your pending application/petition and are aware of the difficulties caused by any delay in processing. We regret we are not able to give you a timeframe for when we will review your case but the California Service Center is committed to processing this workload. We will be making every effort to adjudicate your case in the most efficient manner based on our available resources. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Anyone else receive this response after an inquiry?

LOL I got the exact same response, posted it here, and you replied to it.

I don’t like seeing these kinds of replies. For all this it’s better to not even submit an inquiry if they cannot even give a direct answer

The way I see it is that no one has been assigned to my case yet, so they can't give me a timeline. It is very disheartening, but it brings down my expectations as to when I'll be getting my NOA2. It's definitely not the answer I wanted, but it's all I got right now.

I used to hate weekdays because of work... but now I like them because I get to look forward to my case status MAYBE changing... oh how life has changed...

I was literally talking about this to my fiance the other day, I was saying how I don't even look forward to weekends anymore because it means definitely no change in our case.

Has anyone who was supposed to have their interview in May or June, got their interview date??

Were there interviews scheduled for May and June? I thought they weren't scheduled that far in advance.
