  1. My K1 visa interview was scheduled for March 19h but cancelled the day before and postpone to May 20th. My petition expire April 4th so I hope this will not cause any problem at the interview in May and wonder about other documentation too as there will be two more months so maybe I will need additional documents (pay stubs, more recent proof of relationship, etc.)

I wish K1 visa holders would be allowed to enter. I’m sitting here without a job, without a place to live and without anything basically, because I already gave up everything to move to the US.
Although it’s a non-immigrant visa it should be treated as an immigrant visa. On the Frankfurt embassy’s Website you can even find it under immigrant visas. So I guess it’s more of an in-between-thing, but what counts is the official category, so we can’t do anything 😕

That's my understanding too. But as you said, there is nothing we can do. I am in a similar situation, I was supposed to leave 10 days from the day the ban was announced and get my visa today so now I am just home, unemployed, living in a place that is not mine and that I can stay at until mid April only while being pregnant... Visa interview rescheduled to may 20th but i honestly don't know how I will handle it until then. Very stressfull times but we are all in this together and ultimately things will get better. 🤞

For what it's worth, K-1 is technically a nonimmigrant visa

I thought so too but for my process with my embassy, from searching information on-line to filling the DS-160 the K1 was always considered an immigrant visa. A little bit confusing. I guess it is a little in between situation. Moving with the intention to immigrate but not confirmed until marriage and filling for AOS.

My visa expires June... I refuse to go through this again. I’m completely fed up and will probably end up telling my fiancé to move to Europe at all costs

I totally share your feelings. It is already a very long and difficult process and yes a pandemic crisis going through the world is not something we could have anticipated. But I just hope there will be flexibility on visa extension or such so we don't have to go through all of this again. Finger crossed. I am still surprised K1 are not included in the travel exceptions because it is an immigrant visa, but it is what it is!

Unfortunately, I don’t think you will find anywhere showing a K1 visa holder being considered an immediate relative.

    Good Luck!

Yeah i know... It is pretty clear K1 holders are not an exception, just some naive hope from me! Seeing the finish line but not being able to cross it is so frustrating but it is life!

Waiting to know more details about what will happen over the next few months!
