Mithra got a reaction from MedRoni in answer please
Just curious - it doesn't concern you that he's had so many relationships with American women? And then his response in the other thread about never getting tired of trying to get to the U.S. That would freak me out to be honest.

I guess those 21 viewers don't have any information for you. You asked the question about an hour ago. You can't expect everyone who views your post to be an expert. Be a little more patient.

Sounds good.
Do you and your wife share another language besides English? For example, emoticonese.

Yes, there is a good chance there will be a problem.

Yikes! Well there is a good chance the embassy is going to think you're trying too hard to just get into the United States. Heck, I would and do. Does your current wife know you've tried to get here so many times?

Mithra got a reaction from kristen_maroc in Questions about Getting Married
Please keep in mind that not all Muslims who don't practice their religion go out to bars and mistreat their wives. My husband has never set foot in a bar and while he has consumed alcohol a few times, he doesn't drink on a regular basis. He doesn't go out with friends and leave me at home. He loves his family and is a good father. He just happens to not practice his religion. It's not his thing.

She wasn't talking about you or Christians, in general. She was talking about SOME posters being irreligious. I am one of those people. Not sure why you're so angry. Not sure why you think it's YOUR place to judge how religious Sandinista is.

Perhaps, if your husband feels so strongly about the use of certain words in a generality, like irreligious, then another thread should be started to discuss this-- taking it out of Kat's and other threads. He did insult (or attempt to insult) one very nice, long-standing member/her husband based on his assumptions about religion. That's not exactly cool. He should at least have gotten more information first. Also, Mimo and he may have gone back and forth, but she did not curse at him that I saw. So calling him an ####### was not done.
Your husband jumped right in-- which is brave, but not always the most prudent. Maybe there should be some more introductions all around so that people have a chance to become acquainted first?

Mithra got a reaction from sandinista! in Questions about Getting Married
See my post above. Imams do perform wedding ceremonies outside of a mosque. Not only at "offices" but also at other locations same as ministers and priests. Some will go to other venues. Some will even go to churches for duo ceremonies (the Imam from my first marriage did this). They aren't chained to the mosque lol.

My first marriage I was married by an Imam at an office like place. It was a non religious ceremony performed by an Imam. Kinda like if you go to a wedding chapel. Maybe you can find something like that?

Yes, that is what it means. It's not a bad thing for someone who isn't religious. As you know, not everyone from the Middle East is Muslim and not every Muslim follows their religion correctly. That doesn't make them bad people, it's their own choice and only God can judge them for that.

Mithra got a reaction from kristen_maroc in Questions about Getting Married
I just discussed this with my Egyptian husband and he said getting married at the Egyptian embassy will not fulfill any religious requirements for your fiancé. He was like, there are Christians in Egypt, too so what does the Egyptian embassy have to do with Islamic religious requirements? If your fiancé was so concerned about being married by Egyptian authority perhaps he should've pushed for getting married in Egypt. Seriously, why complicate things?

Can't you get married at the justice of the peace? It's non religious and legal. Why would you want to complicate matters by having to travel to the nearest Egyptian embassy? You can register the marriage with Egypt at a later date.
