Anybody else faced this? we already provided these kind of documents earlier.

I just had my interview today at San Jose USCIS center. And I passed !!!

I dont have plans to travel either but I did pay the expedite passport. My venezuelan passport is expired since last october and in order to get a new one I have to travel to New Orleans or chicago plus wait for probably 4 months.

Not having a passport and having my entire family living abroad was a very nervewrecking situation...In april I lost my grandmother and I couldn't even attended her funeral

So that's why I apply earlier for my citizenship but also got my passport as soon as I had my naturalization certificate.

I feel like finally I can breath easily hahahaha

It says 2-3 weeks but it took 12 days! so the extra money I paid was totally worth it

I will let you know how long mine takes without paying the extra.

Hey guys, just got back from my interview!

It was pretty standard, she went straight to the reading and writing test, then asked the questions

1) Who's the governor

2) Name 2 US holidays

3) Who was the 1st president

4) What was the movement that ended racial discrimination

can't remember the other 2.

Then she went through all my application, made some notes, yes or no questions. Didn't ask for any documents I brought, except 2015 tax transcripts.

She asked me to verify my information and sign. She then said her supervisor would have to go through my file and I would receive a note when a decision is made. On that paper, she marked the box "recommended for approval" and I left.

She didn't say I'm approved, so hopefully I'll hear from them soon.

Overall, it was very easy!

I received my US passport yesterday!!! I already enrroll to vote and on monday I received my new SSN card (I updated my immigratory status)

Can't believe Im finally done done!!!

Congrats!! I will apply for my passport Monday. I am not in a big hurry since I don't have travel plans. I did update my Social Security card the day after my oath.

It is almost a 25 year wait for a Filipino sibling. Current date for an F4 (sibling visa) from the Philippines is 01DEC92. That's over 24 years!

My wife was the only Filipino there. He was speaking to a group of people from all over. I think he was trying to discourage the whole group from filing.

Parents are immediate. So no wait other than the normal CR1.

t i passed the test and gave me a letter saying

"congratulation we recommended your Naturalization application to be approved. you will get a letter in few weeks for where to go for oath ceremony"

Thank you to those why replied my previous posts, so I called uscis again on 5/19, right on the day that marks 30 days of my interview being scheduled. The officer that I have this time is much nicer, I have the interview notice faxed to me after an hour. She told me the date and time of the interview over the phone so it made me less anxious waiting for the fax. My interview is on 5/25 at 8:25am eastern standard time. Please update it for me, the notice date on the fax is 5/19. By the way, for those who are worried about having access to a fax machine, I downloaded a free app called efax on my phone and it works perfectly. Have to start studying now!! So excited about this!! Thanks again for the support!

I found this document from 2008, things might have changed but at least it an official response. https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/nativedocuments/July2008Q%26A.pdf Question 10 on bottom of Page 5 talks about minor traffic citations for N400.

"10. Question: What documentation is USCIS looking for on N-400 applications for clients who have traffic citations only (no arrests), such as speeding tickets? This is in reference to the Good Moral Character section, question 16, which asks if you have ever been arrested, cited, etc. Also, what is expected at the N-400 interview regarding these traffic tickets? Response: Typically if an individual only has minor traffic citations with no arrests resulting (i.e. speeding tickets), they will not be required to submit any additional information with the N-400. However, if, during the course of the interview, an adjudications officer determines that there are circumstances that warrant further investigation, (e.g. there is an indication that the applicant has failed to pay fines associated with the citations), the officer may request additional documentation. (e.g. payment, certified police/court documents indicating such)."

That's interesting reading. Clearly it is old information since the question numbers are different then the current form. The answer does make seance when looking at Yanndny's interview experience. Again I think the IO was in a bad mood Maybe because they were living in 2008 lol

You know a parking ticket is a citation issued by an officer. I really don't think they are looking for those in question 23.

I think Andrea&Henry said that the IO made corrections on the application to indicate the citation. If I misunderstood this please let me knew.

Have they changed the instructions when they changed to the new form?

I ask because up until last year's application, the instructions don't say that you don't have to disclose citations. They say you don't have to provide evidence.

Nowhere on the N400 form, the instructions, the naturalization guide, or the USCIS policy manual citizenship section does it say that you don't need to disclose traffic citations. In fact, it says that you should list all citations but that you don't need to submit evidence if they are traffic offenses that are not alcohol related and are under $500.

On the other hand, the adjustment of status applcoatipn specifically says that you don't need to disclose traffic citations. Maybe this is the cause of the confusion.

Furthermore, the oath letter questionnaire specifically says you have to include traffic citations.

Well in her case she was not cited by an officer. She got the citation in the mail delivered by the US Post Office. On the latest N-400 form it states Cited or detained by any law enforcement officer (including any federal or any official of the US armed forces) for any reason. I wouldn't conciser having a ticket delivered through the mail falls within that description.

And yeah, the IO kept our interview appointment letter too. Not that we need it, of course, as we will gleefully burn all this USCIS stuff as soon as we have passports in hand!

I did have it mark as NO but I told her I didn't know a minor traffic offense was within that category taking into consideration it was not DUI related and way under $500. I decided to tell her and she said it was fine. I showed her the court resolution plus copy of the ticket and she made corrections

Good. I didn't think they would make you change it since the instructions said you didn't need to disclose it. It is nice when the IO follows the rules.
