Wow so the same document they had in the first place? That is ridiculous, causing you to have to deal with RFE. Did you change anything when you resubmitted? I think you said you had a misspelling, did you explain that?

I literally sent the same document I uploaded the first time and never made mention of the missing letter in my name 🙃

Was it in landscape mode or not correctly oriented? I would call USCIS and talk to tier2 officer, they can tell you why the marriage certificate was rejected.

Orientation matters? They can't flip on their screen? I'll call tomorrow to check on it. But I did see that apparently my name was misspelled.....so if anything thats what it is and idk how to fix it since my husband has the certificate in Nigeria

Wanted to update you guys, that my case is now actively being reviewed since yesterday! Hopefully Monday or Tuesday I get approved

They sent us RFE for marriage certificate.....which I submitted with the petition to begin with....so I resent the copy I uploaded again. I just don't understand, did they not look through the whole file the first time

I know it is pretty said that the cases are taking longer than expected. I found one thing that might help you is that you asked them kindly review your case to expedite. I requested last week and I was approved today. They notified that your case being actively review your case" and within 24 hrs I got the approval. You can give it a try. All the very best!!

Im also curious of what grounds you used to expedite

Do you guys think we should start a petition or something to have cases transferred from Potomac? It's little unfair that people who ended up in Potomac and waiting for 10+ months, while those who ended up in Texas or Nebraska are getting approved within 4-5 months!

I agree, one time I spoke to a representative about how do some cases get transferrd and others don't, she said they move cases to even the load....but how is it even when other centers are almost to march 2020 and Potomac jumped back from oct to sept 2019

Our I-130 was approved on 8/28/20! NOA2 didn't show up in our docs section on USCIS website until this morning. Our PD was 2/4/20, SC is Texas (and NOA2 came from there as well so I assume it was never transferred). Dates updated on the USCIS site on 2/28/20, 4/28/20 and then 8/25/20, 8/27/20 and 8/31/20. I am so happy and excited to see how fast we move through the NVC phase. I hope everyone else gets approved soon.

    Congrats!!!!!

    fill out your timeline

imagine you could do this? then which one would be the fastest? because everyone would do it.

I guess but when other centers are around 4-7 months and Potomac is lagging seriously behind, it just makes you wish that you could do something about it. Then you see ppl that filed after you are getting approvals.  This whole thing is frustrating

The link provided at the bottom of my post above will take you directly to the spreadsheet without having to go to FB. However, here is a link for the Potomac Filers support group on FB. https://www.facebook.com/groups/214954996318982/?multi_permalinks=314873959660418%2C314853646329116%2C314016633079484%2C313470676467413%2C312927106521770&notif_id=1595774280413932&notif_t=group_activity&ref=notif

    Thank you!

Hi guys! Monthly update time for July 2020!

For the entirety of July, 71 VJ member petitions have been approved by the USCIS across all the centers (by timeline).

Approximately 3 cases a day (work day) by the organization as a whole.

Of those 71 petitions approved, 16 of them were at Potomac - less than 1 petition a day.

The first petition of the month was approved on the 2nd of July.

The latest NOA1 approved this month was January 27th of 2020 (no one knows why they seem to be working backwards from April 2020 faster than they work forwards from September 2019). The latest NOA1 approved without expedite or I-129f or whatever other weird thing they have going on now was October 29, 2019.

The current estimated range for application completion on the USCIS website is between 10 - 12.5 months from your PD. If you filed before July 21st, and you still have not received any notifications about your case, you should call USCIS and find out what is going on. This is especially true given the sudden leap backward in processing times experienced last month. Get any issues resolved as quickly as possible. Same goes for RFEs. If you haven't received a response to your RFE within 60 days, you should be contacting them.

We are a small center (only 1,972 petitions recorded) and right now our daily rate of approvals is pretty slow. Keep in mind, some filers do not have their timelines set up and so their data is not contributed to the pool, so it may be even more effective than my numbers show here. Please encourage any and all Potomac filers in the forums to go ahead and set them up so we can start to get more accurate readings on our timelines.

Congratulations to all of you who were approved this month! We hope things continue to go favorably for our fellow filers and that many more will receive good news over the next month!

Don't forget! I have created a tool for public use that will allow Potomac Filers to get a visual aid for where Potomac  Center seems to be at in the approval process. I have shared it on FB and I will share it with you all as well. I made a very basic data tracker to help us. You just fill out the next row in the spreadsheet and it will place your case in a bubble chart. When you get an RFE or an approval, you simply change your status in the spreadsheet next to the chart and it will change the color of the bubble. I've also added the option for someone to note that they are a transfer from another center to Potomac. That way, everyone will be able to tell at a glance where Potomac Center is at in approvals. Check it out and let me know what you think! I am open to suggestions for improvements if it is within my limited coding capabilities. Everyone is encouraged to enter their information, even if you have already received your approval so we have a good idea of where everything is at. Thanks! Please let me know if you guys need any help or if you are having difficulties using the spreadsheet. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1oZ10PLJbVaEuTUHz6SHlnYQGhIP9inMrsC4CgltwEXc/edit?usp=sharing
