Congrats on getting DQ'd so quickly!

We submitted DS-260, affidavit of support, financial documents and civil documents on Monday. The case status shows "action required:submit required documents." Looking through the list hey noted, we had sent it at the same time. Did you get anything like that or did you go right to approved?

Entered the US yesterday! After 261 days my daughter and I have been finally reunited with my husband/her dad 🎉

LAX was a little busier than expected. So was secondary but I was processed quickly (probably due to having a screaming child 🙃)

Air NZ was great to fly with too. We flew Melbourne to Auckland and then Auckland to LAX!

No problems leaving Australia for you’ve for the exemption too!

I wish everyone well on this journey and to all
Those Victorians waiting, I hope the wait ends soon and reunited with your loved ones 💕🥰

So I got approved pending my medical exam tomorrow. Consular officer was really nice and the actual interview was short. He said he is giving me a refusal notice but as soon as he gets the medical results he will issue the visa :)

    Small Update

Ok firstly a huge thank you to this site, for without it and the info shared I would have been in panic mode with this mornings email.

Update - expedite applied for                 Sept 23 2020
expedite application acknowledged     Sept 30 2020
    today received an email -

We previously notified you of the date and time of your immigrant visa interview at the U.S.Embassy/Consulate General in SYDNEY, ASTL.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, we have to cancel this interview. We will schedule a new interview appointment as soon as possible and notify you of the date and time. There is no need for you to take action at this time.

(For those like me in Victoria - I never had an appointment)

From previous posts I guess the next step will be to advise of being placed on the waitlist and the usual (due to covid we cant make bookings at this time) seems to be Victoria thing.

Hope everyone is doing well in their progress.

    Cheers
    John

He just got the email we’ve been waiting for. Interview is scheduled for October 7th at 9AM what a rollercoaster. It’s such short notice but he got a medical appointment for the 8th in the morning that’s the earliest spot.

We had the word experience of they gave us a date and didn't TELL us the date until the day before. Literally got an email saying, "we'll see you tomorrow." So we emailed immediately requesting 3 weeks later and got it.

So technically we would've gotten the date I think a week after choosing an option.

I think it may be a little different notw with there being more bookings though?

Wanted to give an update - hubby is in the US!!

    Interview Tuesday, Sept 29: approved
Applied for travel exemption, approved (he used the email saying he had an interview)
    Visa issued: Wednesday, Sept 30
Received in mail: Thursday, Oct 1
Flew out of Sydney Saturday, Oct 3

Only 30 people on his entire plane.

Landed at LAX, only took 20 min to get through customs and get baggage. The only thing they checked at customs was if the address he told them matched the address on the application.

Oh hey interview buddy! What time did you get? I got 10am and another member here got 8am. My partner, Jayden will be the one being interviewed but I might be sitting in the lobby waiting if I'm allowed. I'm pale with long blonde hair and dark features if you see me

MY HUSBAND WAS APPROVED TODAY!! Finally after 28 months - approved!! =D

He was the only one in the entire embassy for his 8am interview time - he was there for an hour 20 min. They asked several weird questions like why had I hyphenated my last name, but then normal ones like did I (The US spouse) live in the US? What did I do for work? How did we meet?

Weirdly enough my husband got an interviewer who said we hadn't needed my parents to sponsor (I make only $25,000 per year... barely above poverty level). So it seems the financials at the moment completely just depend on who you get...

For those who have filed the Aus exemption - what did you use as proof to leave? @zochu @aus2tx

Hubby is now with me in the States! For those with or having a LAX POE, the immigration process was about 5 minutes long. Customs was also quick minus a delay due to the baggage carousel breaking down. Wishing everyone speedy interviews and safe travels! The planes were all booked to capacity so there wasn't any social distancing, which was not ideal, but he made it here!
