    Hi All,

I have been MIA for a while, this journey had become too stressful 😐 But I'm happy to let you know that my husbands interview has been scheduled for January 20th at the US Embassy in Jordan. F2A category, named plaintiffs in YoungvTrump lawsuit and therefore not any longer subject to the ban 🙏

With Baghdad embassy closed (my husband is Iraqi), we were re-assigned to Abu Dhabi. However, UAE currently makes it super difficult to enter the country, as visit visas for many countries in that region have been suspended. We requested a transfer to Amman, and thank god (and the Consular Officers at the Embassy) got accepted under the condition that my husband needs to be physically in Jordan first. We arrived in Jordan on 12/26, and after almost 2 weeks of uncertainty and anxious waiting, our case got re-assigned and expedited to post. 5 days later we received IL for 10 days later. We are both exhausted and running out of energy, but hopeful that we can travel home together soon.

It will be all work out. Sending you my well wishes.

One is expected to pay for the Immigrant fee (Green Card Production)after you get your visa before you leave the country.

Concerning the SSN, using myself as an example. I was told at the point of entry to wait 14working days before contacting the USCIS after contacting them 14days after they (USCIS) told me to wait till its 30days after arrival to book an appointment. Reached out as they have instructed and was booked, registered then got my SSN 6 working days after. Hope that helps

    Got it! Appreciate it.

  3. Thank you everyone again. I do have some questions

    1. When should one pay for the green card production fee of $220 in order to get the green card as soon as possible once entry is made into the USA ? I already see the payment instructions on page 1 of this thread( How to pay the Green Card Production fee of $220 on the Elis system)

    2. Is the issue of SSN automatic or one needs to go to the local SSA office to apply for one? I did copy and paste the below insert from page 1 of this thread.

(******************Tips about your getting your SSN******************

If you don't have your SSN card within 21 days of your POE,  go IN PERSON to your local SSA office and see if your  application was forwarded by the Immigration officer.   It only works about 50% of the time when you tick  the box on the DS-260. As soon as you have your SSN you  may work.  Your passport visa and the immigration stamp  is the equivalent of your green card. )

My husband has his interview on Monday Jan. 11th and it was not a reschedule. I pray everything goes smoothly so we can finally start our lives together. My sister is in the last stages of her life battling esophageal cancer.  They are saying she only has days. Please pray for us because her wish was to meet my husband in person. 🙏🙏🙏

I'm so sorry to hear this. All will be well. You are in my prayers.

Hi, I did my interview yesterday and I was approved pending my medicals which wasn't ready as at at yesterday.

However, on the ceac website - https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?App=IV which i just checked my case is still showing "READY" like I haven't attended the interview.

    Is that normal?

    Congratulations!!!

when a Nigerian divorce goes thru the high court the rules are different than regular court / This is what a gf had been notified of :

A divorce at customary marriage may be as quick as 3 months in customary, especially where there are no contentions. But the divorce of statutory marriage in High Court may never be less than 6 months even without any contention. In fact, a highly contentious divorce case could take more than 2 years to be concluded.

So,  check out the dates and get confirmation that the divorce is actually finalized.  It may be dated by the court but not final (hearsay from someone who says they went thru this and i am no expert on this but look into that as an issue)

the other thing that immigration sees is many documents in Nigeria as fraud

Referencing a book on Nigeria published in 2011 by John Campbell, a former US ambassador to Nigeria, the UK Border Agency Country of Origin Information Service writes "Benin City [South of Nigeria] is a center of the engraving industry, and practically any falsified document can be procured there, from birth certificates to diplomas" (UK 14 June 2013).

Than kyou for your response. We got it resolved and we have DQ'ed.

We paid fees and uploaded all the required documents, and then requested expedite at NVC. I typed a letter explaining why we were requesting expedite (COVID, forced separations bc of closed borders and emotional hardship from these things) and signed it. I emailed it to nvcexpedite@state.gov . the subject i put as our case number expedite request and then gave them my info (DOB, petitioner,  Spouses DOB and name) and sent it!

Then you just wait for them to answer you.

    Okay, thank you.

  9. Hello,

We uploaded all the documents on the CEAC website including my spouses previous divorce document. They sent us a case review note saying the divorce certificate is invalid and asked us to upload an acceptable marriage  divorce certificate from a correct issuing authority.

Country is Nigeria. The divorce certificate was issued by the high court in the town my spouse lives in. Does anyone know what we shhould do. I called NVC this morning and they referred me to the country specific document finder website and I looked at it but still don't know what were doing wrong.

Guys! We are the Monday DQ!!! 😬😬 Oh I’m about to lose it - the message just came in.
We are F2A as you all now. Submissions on March 31st and some of the civil docs on April 9.

We did not submit the PCC due to covid and we used the I-864ez.

Messages (that are not opening of course) are regarding passport and PCC - but no concerns there. My hubbies passport expires in September so we probably know what they want, and the PCC obvs needs to be presented at interview.

    Such a relief.

So happy for you!!!! Hip hip hooray!!! you deserve it and have been very positive throughout the process and very helpful to others..

Amazing! I can’t believe it. I had summit all documents on Thursday and they had sent a message: received & approved it on same day June 18, 2020. Now, visa appointment date is waiting from consulate once embassy is open.

Wow congratulations. I submitted on June 9 and waiting for a response. Hopefully, it will come up soon.

I also just got DQ’ed yesterday, waiting for interview date. Join our UAE whatsapp group, 3 of the members got their interviews scheduled on June 29 (Two were expedited and one normal processing that was cancelled on March). Goodluck to us :)

    Congratulations. Happy for you!

DQ means "Documentarily Qualified" and basically you are looking out for an email from NVC that tells you that that all the documents have been approved. After you receive that email, if you look at your account, you will see that the "Submitted" status for each file has changed to "Accepted". This of course assumes that all your documents were approved the first time -- if you have any issues, you may find that some documents are marked Accepted and others need to be resubmitted.

    Good luck!

Got it. Thank you for the explanation.

Hi Everyone, I have a qestion about filling the DS260. One of the question is asking for your social media account, so should I list all my active accounts or just the main ones I've been using?

I would like to know the answer to this too. Also, another few follow up question about the DS-260. We're in the process of finalizing it so we can submit and move on to Civil documents.

    1. Under Personal Information 1. They asked for other surnames used, are they asking about nicknames/aliases? Right below it is Other Given names used. What exactly do they want here?

To be honest, I think it’s best to go by NVC instructions for that specific country. We’ve seen just as many people getting DQ with only the basics, as we saw unexpected requests for additional documentation (of which many seemed to be mentioned under post specific instructions). By relying on the forum there are to many filters (personal experience, perception, and so on) that in 90% probably don’t apply to somebody else’s case.

I’m with you on the frustration part 😂 but with the current visa suspension I don’t even know what to wish for at this point. I kind of want my naturalization to be complete before my hubby gets the interview to avoid additional hurdles 😑

    1. Thank you for your answer on the sources of income. Under which screen are people uploading it,  with the federal tax return or additional documents? I heard the file cannot go over 2MB.

    2. It seems may people are able to submit 2016- 2018 tax return and I'm being advised not to do it otherwise I would get an RFE or might be asked to. I'm trying not to hold up the process by trying to get my 2019 taxes done.  Any thoughts on this?

    3. Also my husband is already almost done with the DS- 260. Is there anyway we can move on to civil documents? I thought we should be able to move around and fill out different documents at the same time.
