I met my fiance on Facebook, is that an IMB? I didn't put any terms and conditions. I'm worried, I might get RFE because of this. 😭

    No it’s not

IBM- Definition of an International Marriage Broker "International marriage broker" is defined as an entity (whether or not U.S.-based) that charges fees for providing matchmaking services or social referrals between U.S. citizens/permanent residents and foreign nationals.

I am in a whatsapp group and they are saying that some october filers have been approved and that beneficiaries from the Philippines tend to get approved faster? Has anyone heard this before? I thought it had nothing to do with the beneficiary's country or is it just a coincidence?

    No replies here yet 🥺

I think we might get an RFE, small mistake that I realized after we already sent the petition. But that's ok, we will see. I don't think an RFE is something to worry about. They are just giving you an extra chance to maybe clear up something they didn't understand or you didn't think to provide. Or maybe some paper got lost. The fact that you actually get a chance to clear this up and so soon is great. Having dealt with a fair amount of paperwork in my own country, I can tell you it's not uncommon here that they realize some paper is missing or that they lost something years later. Having to deal with that is a real nightmare.
It took me 3 months running around offices to get the info on how to pay my taxes as a freelancer here in Croatia. My local office didn't know and couldn't not be bothered for 3 months to pick up the phone and make a 3 minute phone call to a neighboring town to clear the issues up. And I'm still dealing with some stuff that particular person did not correct because in their own words "there is time". Nah, RFE, you get a list, you send that stuff in and it either works or it doesn't. No running around begging people to tell you what's wrong and what's missing. Can you tell I'm a bit salty with the local admin offices, haha.

Yes you’re absolutely right. Better provide it the earliest than look for it in the Embassy stage.

Yeah of course I can! It still hasn't arrived as of yet but I am hoping that it does tomorrow. My fiance is flying out to see me next week for a month and I was hoping we would get the letter fast, deal with it and send it away. At least if he gets the letter before he goes we can deal with it and send it off here. I too am anxious about RFE so getting one didn't help. Especially the waiting to see what it is.

Just hoping it is something simple and I can send it off and be approved. :)

The packet that my fiancé submitted didn’t contain that much that’s why I’m anxious about it now.
