An RFE is an EXTREMELY serious situation. You get only one shot at satisfying them. Don't screw with your taxes. By all means, find a WELL-QUALIFIED joint sponsor and submit accurate documentation asap.
Thank you for the reality check. I won't screw around with my taxes. I'll just get my brother to be a joint sponsor.

I think I'll ask my brother for the joint sponsorship.
Does anyone know if this will impact his sponsorship of his spouse in the future? He's currently doing the paperwork for her.
Thanks!

Shoot.
I may have some tough decisions to make tomorrow then. I was gonna call to get my taxes readjusted but I will ask my brother to see if he can be a joint sponsor.

For self employed individuals, Gross Adjusted not Gross Total applies.
Does your Gross Adjusted as listed on your 2022 ITR match what you wrote in as your current income on the I864 (not I485)?
Does that amount meet the FPGLs?
Often SEs do not report all of their income to reduce the amount of taxes owed thus their GA never meets the guidelines.
Bingo! I think that might be the issue! I just looked over my taxes and it said I made 7K lol
I definitely made more than that though. Do you think i should adjust my taxes to reflect that or should I provide my K-1 tax filing along with an explanation?

Hi again!
I submitted my spouse's application for AOS, however, we got this letter in the mail regarding our I-485 Affidavit of Support. I'm not entirely sure what went wrong. It says I'm not qualified (or they cannot determine my qualification for making above 125% of the poverty guideline. Last time I check, I make more than 125% (I make around 50K per year). I'm not entirely sure what else I'm missing. Can anyone help chime in? I can review what I submitted and what I speculate that might be missing - and I'll need everyone's thoughts on this.
What I submitted:
1) A completely filled out i-485 application
2) Signed and dated (paid)
3) IRS tax transcript of 2020 and 2021 (I went to their website and downloaded this)
4) A copy of my 2022 taxes, which I filed late so I couldn't get the transcript
What I think they may need:
1) Proof of employment? (Unsure on how to do this as I am self-employed with my own business)
2) Paystubs (Again, unsure how to do this as I am my own boss - I just do a bi-weekly owner's draw)
3) The 2022 should be an IRS tax transcript instead of being photocopied
Let me know what ya'll think!

Hi, I'm struggling to make sense of the vaccination requirements and getting different answers.
My spouse said he was only missing one shot since he didn't have time to complete it. But it looks like its several shots.
Does anyone know what are the vaccine dosages/series requirement per vaccination?

Sounds good! Thanks guys! I got a bit distracted and almost lost this. I am working on all the forms now and submitting them asap!

I think I screwed up!
My spouse and I tried to apply for his social security today and that's when we were informed his K-1 visa expired. That's when I realized I lost track of my own timeline and didn't file for his AOS yet. We did get married and got a marriage certificate.
Is this gonna be an unforeseen issue when we file for his AOS?
This has taken a toll on my mental health - please only comment with helpful information. Thank you!
Edit:
It's been a month outside of the 90 days.

My fiance had his K-1 approved. We are leaving from Bangkok to the US on April 13th.
Other than the K-1 visa stamp on his passport, what else does he need to bring with him to customs when he gets to the US? We are going through SFO.
-
So things are moving much faster now since the sanction on Laos was lifted.
My fiance and I finally got our interview appointment and realized we need to renew the I-134 since 2020 was a long time ago. On the new I-134 form, it says the form expires on 10/31/22. Our interview is on 11/3/22 - will this be an issue?

I thought so.
So now is trying to figure out what the loophole is.

Hi,
My NOA2 got approved way after I learned that the US secretary had ordered a visa suspension for all Lao nationals per section 243(d) of Immigration and Nationality act (see attachment) with limited exceptions so long as they could prove to the consular on why (see attachment). Nearly giving me a heart attack, I sent the US consulate in Laos an email to clarify whether if K-1 visas were affected. I got a vague statement between yes and no (see attachment), which doesn't do anything concrete for me. I had also posted on here asking how I should approach this - I had folks tell me that I shouldn't worry because K-1s weren't affected by it, which in itself isn't assuring either, because now I'm getting mixed messages. Honestly, I don't want to bank on anything less than concrete, so I'm gonna prepare for worst case scenario - filing a waiver for exceptions. My questions are:
1) How does the applicant prove they are not a threat to the national security or public safety of the US to consulars.
2) How does the applicant prove exceptional hardship if denied issuance of visa at this time to consulars?
3) Would it be worth it to get my Representatives and Senators involved by preparing a statement and sending it along with my fiance?
4) What else should I do to level our chances of being one of those limited exceptions?
I probably chose the goddamn worst year to file this petition (COVID19 + IMMIGRATION BANS). Link to US Embassy in Laos: https://la.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/
Thanks in advance!

Source? The only thing I could find is the very limited suspension of certain nonimmigrant visas for specific individuals: https://www.dhs.gov/news/2018/07/10/dhs-announces-implementation-visa-sanctions
This is the article - I've also emailed the embassy in Laos and they are claiming the same https://www.google.com/amp/s/laotiantimes.com/2020/06/05/us-suspends-visas-for-citizens-of-laos/%3famp

Hello,
I understand this is a waiting game, but I feel my application has been way overdue and it's making me anxious. My partner is from Laos and we are a same-sex couple. It's been approx 8.5 months since they have recieved it. Am I the only one or are other folks in the same boat as well?
What are the next steps I should take? I tried emailing twice with not much success. I haven't tried calling yet, because I wanted to get other folks to weigh in on what I should or should not be doing. There was a recent suspension on all Lao immigrant visas, however, I am not sure if our application has been affected by that or will be affected by the suspension?
I'm feeling pretty defeated and hopeless right now.

I'm in the process of trying to verify if K-1 visas are included on this. I'm just not sure where to start? Who should I reach out to to verify this information?

Hi y'all. I've submitted a K-1 application in November 2019 and still waiting on my application to be adjudicated. Then this happened this morning.
https://la.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/
Made me a bit sick to the stomach. How should I go about appealing this? How can I prove that it'll cause me hardship, because honestly, it has already begun. I just feel like things just keep piling up this year.

Hold on there Hombre. I call out many who don't complete their profile. When I call it out it's normally information that we need to answer your question either now or in the future. Of course if you don't want to finish your profile we don't have to help you either. It's explained why if you had taken the time to digest what was being asked.
So, I looked all over the profile you have and I didn't find any warning of "trespassing" on your thread with a request. But, that's fine. I just blocked you so I don't have to help you when you ask a question.
In the future, you may try using honey when replying to someone, it may help you garner an answer to your questions.
And I simply asked for you to message me. That's all. Didn't ask for YOUR specific help or advice✌and you didn't answer my question still.

We need a little housekeeping on your end. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.
So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.
Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.
Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.
Thanks
Didn't help answer my question. It would be great if you could have sent this to my messages instead of calling me out. Thanks!

Your brother is not your child in the i-129F. But when you file the I-134, and if your family is still dependent on you by that time, you will claim them as dependents. Your household size will increase.
Thanks, this has been most helpful!

Here's the situation, my parents are both disabled and my youngest brother, who is 14, cannot be dependent on them anymore. My middle brother became Head of Household and have been claiming my youngest brother as a dependent since 2015. However, my middle brother got laid off early spring of 2019, so I became Head of Household and now I temporarily claim my youngest brother as a dependent until my middle brother finds a stable job.
Fast forward, one of the questions on the i-129f application asks if we have any children under 18. Confused and unsure by my situation and the question asked, I selected, "no," because I don't have any children under 18. However, after doing my taxes and doing more reflections, I'm unsure about my decision I made about "not having any children," as my tax return indicates that I am claiming two persons. To clarify, this isn't my child, this is my youngest brother.
Will this have any impact on my application (which was submitted back in October)? And if it will, how do I go about making this correction? Again, my youngest brother being my dependent is very temporary and may change anytime my brother finds a stable job. Thanks!

I'm new to the joint sponsor thing. Will my brother have to fill out his own i-864 form and send it along with mine along with his supporting docs?
