Thank you!! We don’t know if we’re approved yet. At the interview they asked for an I944, which we didn’t include because our postmark date is before feb 24. I explained how it’s supposed to go off mailing date and they said they never heard of that. So we’re waiting to see if we’ll have to submit it. We’re praying we don’t as it’s a very time consuming form and it’s the reason we rushed to file.

    So.
    Many.
    Hoops.

It took like 2 weeks for mine to change from ready to be scheduled...to a date has been scheduled...from there the date was a month away

Wow. That is fast!  Others were saying it could take over a year. Well, hopefully it’s longer than a month but this process (and 2020 in general) has taught all of us to chill out and realize we can’t control a thing.

When we did AOS back in 2013 it took almost 10 months for a interview down in Los Angeles. So with everything going on I would hate to see the wait time now for Los Angeles

Got it.  Thank you.  In a way the interview is not really that important to us.  She can work here and travel home, so the actual Green Card isn't crucial anytime soon.

    1. It can take anywhere from 3 to 6 months on average from the date of the ready letter to the actual interview.

No, it is not set in stone but with everything going on I do believe it would be longer now

Thanks!  That is great news.  The GC itself doesn't really matter to us.  She has the ability to work and travel, so the green card is just icing on the cake.  Thanks!

    Thanks so much!

  5. Hi AOS peeps!  What is the general time we are finding between getting the YOU ARE READY TO BE SCHEDULED FOR YOUR INTERVIEW notice and the ACTUAL interview being scheduled?

Ironically, we actually are hoping it takes a while. My wife's passport was expiring in a few days, so the second she got her combo card, she went home to get her passport (long story of why she could not do it from the USA since my dog literally ate her passport years ago and she had to get a temporary passport, but I digress ...)

Of course, the second she got to Canada, we received the "You are ready to be scheduled" email.

    1.  If this runs like the rest of the process, it means her actual interview is probably 6 months away.

    2.  Also, if this runs like the rest of this process, it means that the email notification comes weeks and weeks or months and months after it should.

Generally, what are people finding is the time between having and interview scheduled and it actually getting set in stone?

Hi everyone, I wanted to give an update - I just got my approval letter for EAD! This was a total shock because it never updated on the case tracker. The approval is dated October 16th. I was outside of normal processing times on October 8th.

Congrats!!  Yeah so crazy how nothing happens for months and months and months and then all of a sudden!!  Boom. Happy mailbox!

  8. Keep calling and pressing and hoping and believing.  We just got the combo card in the mail.  Many months to get the biometrics.  FInally had bio 10/5/20.  Then the rest happened crazy fast.  10/8 was the EAD/AP approval letter.  10/8 was physical Social Security card.  Then 10/15 (today) was the physical EAD/AP Combo card in the mail.

Keep calling Tier 2.  Keep pressing congress and senator.  Keep telling the Ombudsman to weigh in.  Something FINALLY worked for us, and actually moved it through very fast at the end.

Next is interview, etc; but that doesn't even matter now.  She is finally free to work and travel and become a human again.

Of this month??? That’s really fast!!! Congratulations!!!

my husband took his on the 8th of September and nothing😒 which is weird bc we don’t have an RFE so idk...

Yes. It was super weird. Almost like it was sitting there and just waiting for the bio to send out. Call Tier 2 and hit ombudsman and congressman about how far past PD you are and keep calling until you can tell someone is getting it. We really think that helped.

  10. Keep up the faith, everyone.  And keep calling.  Keep emailing.  Keep at it.  Our March biometrics were finally rescheduled for October 5th.  We assumed it would take forever for the EAD/AP aprovals to come, but they came in the mail a few days later.  EAD approval.  AP approval.  And Social Security card!

What worked?  Who knows?  But we called Tier 2 at least every week for months.  We emailed and spoke with our Senator.  And our Congressman. And the Ombusdman.  Everyone. Don't back off.  Don't stop.

    Hey everyone!

I guess today was my lucky day with a tier 2 agent. He scheduled a bio appt for me! It's on next month but at least I finally have a date! He can't send the notice through e-mail yet unless it's 5 days before the appt but I'm supposed to get it in 10 days on the mail. I guess it's about trying and trying until you get somebody nice. I hope this is true though bc if it's not I'll be really sad.

    Good luck everyone!

    YES!!  Congratulations!

Have seen this happen a few times now, best thing would be to go! Or seek help via congress folks. The thing is that the officer might/might not note that you are not going to attend the appt as you already have the card and that might cascade to a different avalanche altogether.

It’s crazy how many of us from February are still waiting for our biometrics appointments and then USCIS schedules many of us appointments we don’t even need (which slows things down even more!)

Sorry I’m sure this has been asked a thousand times but any advice is gratefully received.

I had 2 biometric appt letters for March, both cancelled of course. One was for I485 and I765, and one was for I131.

Since reopening I have received only a new biometric appt for the i485 and I765, and that appt was today. I asked the lady when I was there if they’d apply the same prints to my I131 and was told no, I’d have tomce

back when I get that appt.

I assume if I’d had my I131 appt letter she could have processed a second set of biometrics there and then? But I did not have that letter as it’s not been sent to me yet.

    What have others’ experiences been?

    1. TWO new appt notices received if applied for work auth and advance parole, both letters taken to first appt and only one visit needed

    2. TWO new appt notices received if applying for work auth and advance parole and two trips made to the ASC

    3. You’ve received one appt and not the other yet

I submitted a case inquiry for the i131 portion today as the processing time

for that is still up to 5 months, not 35 months like i765.

    4. Still NO biometrics at all.

    Hi everyone!

I called Monday USCIS asking talk to a tier 2 and they said they'd call me back in 330min. No calls Monday or yesterday.

Today I called them again and asked for a tier 2 and I have a wait of 240min for them to call me, hopefully they'll do it today.

Just updating everyone that I guess they're not calling back anymore?

We spoke with Tier 2 yesterday. Just because it’s the way we start almost every day now. We congratulated her on no furlough. And then, as always, she very nicely read the same script that tells nothing and doesn’t help at all. We are on some unknown reschedule pile for biometrics that was skipped over but we just need to be patient, etc. Same thing. Another day.

I feel like I’ve done everything I can... And it also doesn’t help when you get contradicting answers. When I asked if it will affect the decision when the expedite request gets denied, the first Tier 1 I talked to said it will take longer for it to get approved. And then I asked Emma, they said it won’t affect anything. How was it with the congressman? I asked for help from ours and I was given a privacy release form that I had to mail to them since it has to be handwritten. I’m just confused because I’ve seen people get answers just by calling. 🥴

I’m really hoping you’ll receive good news soon... Hang in there and stay safe!

Tier One and Emma are just giving computer and committee generated scripts. One is human and one is computer and neither can see it know or do anything more than your case tracker. Tier 2 try hard by are powerless. Congress representative said they would check in with USCIS but really nothing they can do. They probably would just hear the same “you are in a pile to be rescheduled and we can’t say when” answer.

No movement yet, unfortunately. I keep checking all day, everyday and I'm starting to give up lol. But really happy for you! ❤️

I would say don’t give up but pretty sure we are giving up. Did Tier 2 and congressman and senator today. Really feel like giving up. No line. No reason. No fairness. No sense of order. Nothing. Totally there with you.

i think that is just some random bull that supervisor told  you. looks like they are finding new reason to come up with

We were told a version of the same. February filers are being scheduled by hand. All new applicants are scheduled by computer. Once furloughs happen it will stop completely from the human side and grind to a slow crawl on the other side.

Guys, another small update from me :)

my biometrics was on the 11th in Atlanta. The notice was only for AOS and EAD so I was concerned that I would have to go another time for AP at some point in the future. I know there are others here in the same situation, so I wanted to share my update to give you some good news:

two days ago my status said "ready to schedule interview" for AOS, "card being produced for EAD, "case received" for AP

but yesterday evening there was an update, EAD and AP both now say "approved", so apparently no second biometrics appointment necessary after all. I'll keep you posted on how long it will take until I actually get the combo card, under the current circumstances I'm not holding my breath.

I do realize how lucky I was to get the biometrics appointment and now the approval when so many here still haven't had any news whatsoever! I'm really hoping you guys will hear something soon, and that the furlough won't happen!

    Congratulations!!!!!

Just got my rescheduled biometrics appointment In the Mail😍😍 I was supposed to have it on 04/02 and now it’s 09/02 in Milwaukee 👍

Great news. And now we pray the offices don't close again on the 30th.

(At this point we actually are hoping we do NOT get a biometrics appointment before they close since the reschedules went to the bottom of the pile the last time the offices closed and reopened.)

Put the heat on your senator and congressman to follow Senator Leahy's call to push the furlough.

A push of even a few week could mean the difference between you getting biometrics in 2020 or not.
