  1. if you were married in 2019 and still need to file tax returns ,  you can add her

    the only time you can get a ITIN is when you file to IRS

    if you already filed ,  amend the 2019 tax returns

      when you file 2020 taxes and  if she is not here,  file either MNJ or married MFS and do the work for the ITIN

      make sure she marks the ds 260 for USCIS to do the SS # for her when you get to that point 

      I filed MFJ as it gave a bigger tax break and larger refund (but it is up to u) any income she would have for her country is exempt up to $105,000 by filing 2555 form with those taxes

      Great, she currently doesnt work so i am not sure if MFJ would work because i am the only one working and sending money back home from time to time for up keep.

      It works as you are married filing together 

      many spouses (even in the US) don't work

      sometimes it is even the man who stays home
