I have heard that once your fiance' is ready to come to the US, that their ticket should be a round trip and not a one way. Is this advice coming from the US Embassy? I understand that most round trip tickets are even cheaper than a one way. I'm just wondering about the messaging that the Embassy is sending. What is your opinion? And for those of you lucky enough to have your fiance/wife here already, what did you do?
Definitely hope not. In my case I would be buying 3 rt tickets plus mine to bring my fiance and her kids to the USA

Did you use usps overnight? Also did you send that to the PO Box in Dallas? Or did you send to Lewisville

I only got the court certified letters, no state check. Assuming it should be enough vis-versa also?
It should be fine. I only went to the State because I didn't know which of the many courts it was processed in and I did not want to pay hundreds of dollars to get a certified letter from each.
I think getting a state check is better. One can easily circumvent the process by knowingly providing a letter from a court where the case was not heard/processed.

Still awaiting approval. No RFE yet. Shouldn't be any. A certified criminal record check from the state showing no records exist should be sufficient. If the state's report shows nothing, so will the court's. No reason in my opinion to get multiple reports that show the same information.

Is there any update on this? Did you get approved? I got an RFE for missing court docs (from an underage drinking ticket I got like 11 years ago) and all I got back was a certified letter from the court stating there is no record of it. Wondering/hoping that will be enough.
Still awaiting approval. No RFE yet. Shouldn't be any.

There are some USCIS apps that you can find in the Play Store for Android and probably in the Apple Store as well. Download one and put it your WAC number. You can then track your process. Maybe receive updates more quickly.

Hi everyone!
I'm new to the process, and only getting my info from the web.
What has happened so far?
- Mailed my complete I-129F packet to USCIS on 1/13/20
- Received notification via text on 1/21/20 that my application was recieved on 1/15/20
- My receipt starts with WAC
- Check was deposited and shown as withdrawn from my account on 1/23/20.
What exactly am I waiting for next? It's not clear to me.
Thanks for the help on my journey.
NOA1. Should be arriving shortly. Then NOA2.. Hopefully no RFEs

Why were there 93 pages if I may ask?
50 of those pages was proof of our meeting.. And we've only met once. Copies of itineraries, receipts, bank statements, boarding passes and a few others.
I also made a copy of every page in my passport as proof of citizenship as detailed by the guide on visajourney. I know understand it's outdated and I didn't need every page.

Hey, so a few days ago I submitted my I-129F package and it arrived at the Dallas Lockbox yesterday (now to wait until Tuesday for it to be picked up).
The problem is.. I realized I forgot to include the photos of my fiancee and I together in our package! The baggie of photos is sitting on my desk!
There are quite a few threads from 2010 - 2014 regarding this issue, and many users said that they did not submit photos together and were still approved.
Do you guys think this will be an issue? I included boarding passes to and from, passport stamps, bus receipts, apartment receipts, and our engagement ring receipt.
Just to be clear: I mean photos of us together, not the passport style photos. I included those.A lot of things have changed for the I-129F process over the years, so I wanted to hear some more modern opinions.
Thanks in advance!
Probably won't be an issue. But you really should make sure you go over everything several times.
I made two exact copies of the i-129f packet. One copy for me and one for my fiance. They were all 93 pages each.

It was all in a binder. Our letters of intent and signed stories of how we met are included.
and yes, a check for payment is at the front of the binder. I should have mentioned that in the original post.
Binder? They ask people not to send binders.

As the petitioner, I submitted the 1-29F and supporting evidence on Monday. I was wondering if I submitted enough to not receive an RFE? Here is what I submitted in the packet:
- Completed I-129F form
- Photocopy of birth certificate (US citizenship proof)
- Signed letters of intent to marry within 90 days by myself and my fiancé.
- Signed stories of how we met by myself and my fiancé.
- boarding passes and photos for the last four times that we met in person.
is this enough?
How was it organized? Did you have cover letters, TOC. Did you send payment?
Mine was 93 pages with everything.

like they initially accepted my divorce decree but when she went back for the sticker, they wanted additional paperwork, parenting plan, ect and no longer accepted the divorce decree
Sounds like it's not very organized. How did you show that you are single? I know they sometimes ask for proof.

I was doing research in older post. I heard Manila was the worst and Cebu was the best. (davao was new so it had no reviews, but Davao sounds like Manila from the stuff i read.)
but im sure it depends on who is work at the time
What exactly is hard about it?

well, if you're going to davao cfo, have all the paperwork you can get, we did the cfo in davao before the interview/medical. went back the other day because we received the visa and so far its been a nightmare of more evidence and parenting plan (prior divorce on my *usa* side). they didn't accept my final divorce decree. she is going to have to go back a 4th time. she also stated they been trying to "Scare" her and stating she will probably just get a divorce as well.
Good luck, all we're waiting on is the cfo sticker. so far this has been the hardest part. I guess we were lucky.
Definitely not going to Davao. Probably schedule it in Manila at the same time as the medical and interview. I'll be going with as she also has to bring her two small children.

We're about to send off our application and I'm worrying and stressing about the whole process already!
When I think logically and technically, we have all the proof needed to show we are in a genuine relationship - visited each other 6x, engaged on the 6th visit, time spent together is 50% of our relationship, I've met his parents but he hasn't met mine yet, our friends know about one another. Maybe one downfall is that we have only been together for 6months.
I keep worrying that we haven't got enough "proof" or there are holes somewhere that we cannot spot which may lead to a denial. I've also heard they will look at our social media accounts however I do not share much on there due to the person I am.
One day I am very positive we will be approved, the next moment I would be stressed out of my mind incase we have really missed out something and seem "fake."
Can anyone help to how to ease my worries or offer any words of wisdom in dealing with this (when we haven't even gotten to the interview which'll be even more stressful!)
I've only been with my fiancée 7 months...we talked for 5 before we met. I proposed in November, the first and only time we have met. I'm going back in a few weeks though and will go back when she and her kids have their medical and interviews.

I have all the documents and pictures ready to be mailed, I am only missing the letter of intent to marry. My fiancé lives in Mexico and I live in the US. How would I be able to get his signature for the letter if he is in a different country? Obviously he can send it through mail but we don’t really want to wait 1-2 weeks for the letter to get here. What other options do we have? Can I send in something else other than the letter of intent?
It can be a scanned copy

Hi I am a US citizen who got naturalized in 2015. I am currently living in Germany with my fiance. My fiance is an Ukraine citizen.
We planning to apply for the K1 visa and return together to USA.
Although this forum and other resources make application without a lawyer possible (thanks!), I would like to hire a lawyer to make sure that the process is easier.
The question I have is: Does it matter where this lawyer is? E.g would it be better to find a lawyer in USA or in Germany? If USA, does it matter which state the lawyer is?
thanks a lot!
You don't need a lawyer.

I’m currently compiling everything my fiancé will need to file the DS160 after I’ve left the country. The official list says “passport”. Does the DS160 online form require the uploading of a passport scan? I would like to pre-scan everything and have it ready for him. Is JPG acceptable? Anything else I should scan in advance?
I don't know about passport, but you need to upload a 2x2 photo

Seminar at any office can get the sticker at NAIA.
Some have done the seminar months ahead of the interview. You drive that bus. Start looking at available openings now and see if anything fits your timeline. Slots do fill fast
It added no additional time to our desired departure because we simply took care of it while we were waiting already for the visa interview
Since I am petitioning her children too, do I need documentation for them at the CFO seminar?
Also, all the documents seem to be similar to what is needed for the interview and medical. Does that mean I need more copies/originals of everything? Or do I get these items back and can use them again?
Sounds like I need to start collecting all these documents now rather than waiting for NOA2

I arrived in the Philippines on Monday, the 10th via Taiwan. Had it been a day later, I would have been stuck in Taipei. But now I'm stuck in the Philippines as flights are now canceled.
