Legendinthemaking got a reaction from Lexushim in US consulate Islamabad reopening
I think we will hear something by early next week. I am saying this because they might be closed for last 2 weeks of December. That is why you see no one got interview from 22 December till 31 December. They are going to send out the news before they go on vacation.

Again, what are your sources? There is one person on facebook group, his visa got delayed and they want more paperwork. So they are working on individual cases at a time. There is no need to overthink that they will give priority to someone who just had interview on December. Embassy is working normally. Slow, but normally.

Where do you hear that? Please check the sources if there are credible or not. We had issues here in this group that someone just comes up and says that embassy is closed again and this and that and starts to confuse people. If the source is not credible, please don't believe them. Embassy is open and conducting interviews.

Can someone find out if the embassy is still working? I'm hearing some rumors that the Islamabad embassy has suspended all services due to covid again. Can someone please find out? Check the NVC process help group or something.

So whatever PCC that you have, just bring that one. No need to get another one. They usually focus on marriage certificates and birth certificates.

They are still in march. I know someone personally who has DQ March 24 they got interview for November 30. So April DQ will be December and so forth. Just worried about people who's DQ was in September. This way there interview is gonna be April next year? this will be too late. Anyway, good thing they started interviews again.

Routine visas services continue to be suspended at U.S. posts worldwide as a result of the COVID pandemic, but as resources allow, embassies and consulates may continue to provide emergency and mission-critical visa services. Mission-critical immigrant visa categories include applicants who may be eligible for an exception under these presidential proclamations, such as: IR/CR1, IR/CR2, IR/IH-3, IR/IH-4, SQ, SI, certain medical professionals, and certain aliens providing temporary labor or services essential to the United States food supply chain, as well as cases involving an applicant who may age out of his or her visa category. While embassies and consulates may process these types of cases, their ability to do so may be limited by local government restrictions and available resources. In addition, an applicant’s ability to travel may be impacted by local laws, regulations, and travel restrictions.
this is what I have from the proclamation 10014. Spouse visas are exempt. They probably sent it out by mistake.

Should not be a problem. They are talking about karachi and karachi is having people gathering almost every week now. Hopefully we will hear something soon espcially for the people who had DQ early march.

Everybody is waiting. I don't know how long because there is no official update from the embassy yet.

I really hope that you are correct. 3 weeks is nothing compare to all the waiting we did. Back in July and August, I understand that they are re-opening it slowly due to Covid but now its almost end of September with no new news. So hopefully we will see an announcement really soon. Thank you for your help and keep updating us.
Good luck and let us know how it.

My sister-in-law who works closely with the embassy said that they were scheduling interviews last week and expected that we would have an announcement by the end of last week. Well last week came and went with no news. But we had members on VJ state that the ones who had their interviews initially canceled due to Covid are being scheduled for interviews October 13th. However as far as I know these are the only interviews being scheduled and this may be the case for the next couple of weeks. These members were initially document qualified back in February 2020.
My assumption is that once they have worked through the backlog of canceled interviews and start resuming NEW interviews, we will see an announcement. This is a worst case scenario as other embassies announced their opening within a week or two of scheduling their own canceled interviews. So let’s see, I think we will almost certainly see an announcement in the next 3 weeks, but I have been wrong before (about last week). The Islamabad embassy is opening much slower than others.
