Does this allow us with approved EAD but no cards/no biometrics to legally work????!! :D:D

Massive news guys, USCIS just said that you can now start working with your approval notice even if you don’t have the EAD in hand, as long as you get approved by August 20th 2020 though.

After a failed 1st delivery attempt and another 5 day delay from USPS my wife's EAD/AP card arrived in the mail yesterday—8/17. So about 21 days after the approval.

Great timing as she had a meeting today with her new employer who has been waiting patiently for her to be able to start working.

One more small step in this never ending journey. Good luck everyone.

As you all know by now I received my EAD already. Guess what came to mail today- biometric appointment for 765, 131 and 485. None for 130 though. Scheduled to be within 1st week for September (before Labor day). For security reasons will not include date/time.

Hi! Just want to inform that my biometrics were rescheduled for 13th August, which I completed! And later that day, I received the case status update.

Today I received an update on my case tracker saying that my case is ready to be scheduled for an interview! Anyone already had interview scheduled or received their EAD?
    Have a great day!

We've just got noticed that my husband's biometrics appt is on 09/02/2020... I'm hoping that the furlough doesn't affect it. 🙄

Just spoke to an online rep who, though gave every generic response in the book, said I've not yet had any biometrics scheduled. And then she disconnected immediately. So that was fun.

Some good news today, my EAD status updated to  "Card Was Mailed To Me" on August 15th.

It took 5 days to get it printed and mailed following my Biometrics being completed. Hopefully I'll have it in hand this week.

Hi, I have been a quiet reader. I'm a February filler who got biometric canceled because of COVID. Application support center in Chicago, I have two friends who already got appointments in the same location, both of them filled in June. One friend's filling date is June 25, and the biometric scheduled for August 26. I happy for them, I only don't understand why February fillers were left behind. On the web site, it says ' If you do not receive an appointment notice within three weeks, contact us'. I tried to contact them, and they say to wait 90 days, and that the processing time is 3 years.
We can't visit our family, we can't do anything, we just stuck.

I got my combo card today:
     - they reused my OPT picture from 2014
    - no biometric/fingerprint
    - my USCIS # is different on the card from my OPT EAD one

    Good luck everyone!

Ok, so this is update on my case, so I send everything on feb 28, no biometrics no nothing. Called uscis almost every week, same answer, wait. This week I called 3 times, two times nothing and last time... Now I see, your case is on hold from jun 10 😳😳😳. What? Why? What that mean is on hold?? So, I don’t know, I’m going to transfer your call to tier 2 agent. Ok. 7 hours later. Officer: I don’t know why, case seems fine to me, I’m gonna send request to center you gonna receive email from me in 15 min to confirm, and in two weeks you gonna receive response. And one day later I still did not get email... Called uscis again, she told me to spell her my email, an she says it is wrong, but she can’t tell me email address that she have. SO now I’m waiting again for officer to call me. Sorry for my bad English,  I’m So tired people😤🥺🤒😷🥱😵

I mean as long as you have your EAD you can start a life and work already, the green card is important but the ead is something that can make you have your life while waiting for GC. I'd be happy to have my EAD now and later one worry about the GC.

WELL, REALLY NOT SURE WHERE TO GO FROM HERE.
I don't think I will ever forgive myself for not walking into every single ASC office in the area in March.  Our March biometrics apt was three days after we got the biometrics appointment in the mail. And I got lazy and didn't walk us into one in those three days before our scheduled appointment.  It's only a couple days, what could change?  And then the first shutdown.  TWO DAYS before our appointment.  So no appointment.  And then February filers get screwed because our "reschedules" are done after the "new schedules" of May, June July filers.
And then every day talking to tier 2 or well-meaning tier 1 who reads from a script, or our Congressional office, or to the wall.

Pavlovian dogs; we sprint to the mailbox at the first sound of the postman.  For weeks.

And now, August 13.  Zero.  Zip.  Zilch.  And Congress recesses for August without and agreement, so USCIS furloughs start in two weeks.  Even if her biometrics appoointment comes in the mail next week, it will be for a date AFTER the ASC offices shut down again.

No job.  She can't see her only nephew who now is a year old.  No seeing her 76 year old dad.

Forlorn.  Dejected.  Pounded to the earth and trampled.  Done fighting.  Crushed and just over it.
