No problem entering the lottery with another application in progress. I don’t know why you think there would be anything fraudulent about it?

I just wasn't sure so I'd rather just ask just in case. I was afraid it could look like she did the K1 just to get a chance to enter the US if she also decides to enter the lottery. Like she would do anything possible to get a free pass to the states and that is just not the case. I don't know if that makes any sense.

  2. Hello,

I am asking this question for a friend. We were both au pairs in the US and my friend and her boyfriend decided to apply for a K1 visa

They are on hold like everybody else because of Covid-19 and in the meantime, they have started having some problems/challenges, caused

by the whole long distance relationship - which is understandable. My friend always wanted to come back to the US, also before she met her

boyfriend/fiancé so she is thinking about entering the DV Lottery.

Since they haven't cancelled on their K1 application yet, she is not sure if she can enter the Lottery as well or if any of it will be considered fraud?

She is hoping her and her fiancé can figure things out, obviously, and if they can and they continue with the K1 application, will it be considered fraud

if she also entered the lottery?

I hope it makes sense and that someone can help me out so I can help her,

    Thank you all.

    Simone

Use the blue ribbon at the top of this page and select the tab "immigration timelines" and a page will open with all kinds of ways to manipulate the different data points to arrive at your answer.

Thank you. But that will only show statistics on applicants with a Visa Journey Profile, right??

Yeah, that’s true. It just sucks...I’m tired of waiting. But I know this is only the beginning of waiting on the whole immigration process. Fingers crossed some good news comes soon for all of us!

I hear you. I’m over it too. This is pretty much unbearable and the waiting game and not knowing is slowly eating me up!
    Crossing my fingers as well!

That’s where I’m going too. Maybe it’s because my status is still In Transit? Which I think is odd because I received an email on September 16th stating it would be shipped to the embassy and it hasn’t changed since then

That is a bit odd. But I honestly wouldn’t worry too much about it. Did you see the screenshot I posted further up? It’s an email response from the embassy saying that I should ignore the status “Ready”. So, I don’t really think it’s important at this moment.

We have the same NOA2 date, and had our application sent to embassy on 29th Sept, with case status "ready" on 5th Oct.

Currently waiting for Packet 3 instructions, and fingers crossed interview soon.

    Embassy: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

    Thank you for reaching out!
I did just receive below email from the embassy and that made me a little sad,

I'm K1. I had the interview in March, right when the travel ban came, and am still waiting for the visa to be issued. But maybe you meant someone who's sending in their application now...?

    Thank you for responding!
I was just trying to find someone who’s at the same place timeline wise as we are.

We got our NOA2 on March 25th.

Which embassy does your interview? I ask because I was thinking you had to go to Sweden but I wanted to confirm with you. Thanks

@Greenbaum do you happen to know what the normal order would be when checking your status online, if it wasn’t for Covid-19? I’m just curious and can’t seem to find an answer. We went from “at NVC” and next tile I checked it said “Ready”. What’s next?

Thank you! I hope you'll get yours soon as well :) Ours was just a routine interview, spousal visas are now being processed as normal in Stockholm since they are mission critical cases, I'm not sure about the status of K1s at Stockholm right now.. We got caught up in it too, we originally had an interview scheduled for April 1, but it got cancelled 2 weeks before due to all the embassies shutting down, it took almost 5 months for us to get an interview scheduled again

    Thank you for answering 😊

Again, I’m so happy for you!

My husband just got approved! His medical had not arrived yet (he only got it done 8 days ago) but that's okay, he needs his passport to travel back to Denmark so I assume the medical will have arrived by the time his passport gets to the embassy. So beyond happy!! Finally we are done 18 months later
I haven't gotten the chance to call him since he needed to catch his flight back home, but I will let you all know the specifics when I get to talk to him :)

I’m so happy for you guys ❤️
I’m from Denmark too but applied for K1. Very mixed feelings, reading all these spouse visas getting issued, no offense. I’m so very happy for you!

Do you mind me asking, is your case being processed as a routine or do you have some special reason? I’m just trying to find a little hope since my fiancé and I got trapped in this COVID mess after our petition was approved right when it all started 😣

Thanks so much for the update @Kl30morg!! I am actually really considering making a trip over! I just got offered a new job and if I take it and can push my start date back a month, I'd love to go see my fiance. I haven't seen him since January 6th!!

One major thing holding me back was traveling on a plane. I was worried my anxiety would be through the roof with the virus, so it's good to hear that IcelandAir is taking precautions!

I’m pretty much in the same boat as you. Today marks 6 months of not seeing each other.

Can you make it to Norway though? I’m very confused about where US citizens can visit and where they can’t visit. I’m in Denmark myself and my fiancé is in the states.
