  1. Hello to everyone!

We got rejected last time because of I-944 that we missed out, they did say that the filing fee was wrong even though we checked it twice on USCIS.  Refiling next week. Trying to get everything right this time; I944 sure is a pain though.

I don't have my original high school diploma and it's next to impossible to get it. Apparently it is required for evaluation for equivalency and I could not be more freaked out. Any insights?? I have all the required proof that I have been professionally active for a decade, more in fact. Could the absence of High School Diploma evaluation cause a problem?

Wish you all smooth sailing! Good news for anyone is hope for everyone else

Congratulations. I love the fact that you never gave up. You plowed ahead no matter what was thrown in your path. When you write your embassy experience there is a place to put that for others to see and read. Here is the link to help you find it.

Thank you for answering my questions earlier in the process. It helped a great deal!! Bookmarked the link...God bless you guys!

  3. Alhamdolillah!! Our visas are finally issued. 10 months from filing to visa issuance and 12 months of staying apart. Thanks to Allah we are looking forward to seeing each other soon. I have updated CEAC record of dates since interview to issuance on my timeline. Will post a review with all the details soon insha'Allah (We had our complications, NOA2 expiring, legal permission for my child and related documents, My child's passport not being ready until after the NOA2 expiry, medical being refused for K2 and then the doctor putting me up for Psychiatric Assessment) Few others too but i'll include that in the review. I have summed up details up here because I was so confused with these things and did not find answers in the Pakistan Forum, hence putting it out in the open in case any one in future goes through any such thing. Had it not been for this forum, it would have been much more of struggle. Thanks to EVERY SINGLE PERSON HERE who has shared their information; You have made it so much easier for the rest of us, newbies especially. Thank you VJ and VJayers, eternally grateful. I am not a pro but any questions regarding ISB embassy/my experience are welcome. And one thing that I have found to be true; I read countless times here from admins and senior members to be truthful and honest with all the information in your petition and throughout, well, BINGO! Thanks again everyone!

  4. I completely get what you are talking about; have seen it enough times, but you guys did marry to spend a life together and it is evident from what you have written that your wife is being financially abused. And when you have been part of something like this long enough, you find not so wrong. Maybe you should help her see it from the real perspective, a non-abused one and that takes time and effort. Instead of "them" and "they", talk to her about "us", building a future together and she can't do that with anyone if her family intervenes and financially manipulates her. She needs to know that it is as much about her as it is about you both, especially her spending her hard earned money on people who only care about what she brings in and not her well being and happiness. Quitting is easier but rarely one would regret taking the hard road for a loved one. I hope you two figure it out. All the best!

  5. We did one letter, only mine since I am the one applying. We did write two separate "Declaration of Bonafide Relationship" or in simple words, how we met with the whole story leading up to K1 application.

  6. Hello All!

Interview for K1 & K2 Visa done on 20th December. Case Creation date updated right after interview and "Ready" (Immigrant Visa) went to "Application Received" (Non Immigrant Visa). Have had two updates since then, 30th December for K1 and 2nd January for K2.

I had been logging into US Travel Docs on n off and it started showing "Document Delivery Information" where it said "You Passport is with US Embassy/Consulate". I am guessing it happened somewhere between 30th December to 2nd January since I was not regularly checking.

I went on to passport tracking and it resulted in "No Status available for the passport number submitted"

    Any insights??

I have researched on this portal under my own country but it did not yield many results.

  8. I am a K1 beneficiary and my child is K2. I will be scheduling interview this coming month but I am confused as to how do I schedule us both in the same appointment. Reason being, there is a separate DS160 for my child, as I understand and when I go to the particular portal, it gives two separate options of K1 and K2 and individual details need to be filled out in order to proceed. I do not want to go the final page and then fumble for answers. Would appreciate if anyone can help. Thanks a lot!

    Q1. At the interview.

Q2. Dont start the DS-160 till you're ready to complete it in one seating.

Q3. If this drags out to November then at sometime in November you'll contact the embassy to extend.

@Greenbaum Thanks again for the help! Sole Legal Guardianship is almost through (Thank God). I have been reading that at times a court order is required to take the child out of country. Is this a requirement for Islamabad?

We found out that our papers have been assigned to someone at Nebraska after over a year. My husband will be in Germany for work by the end of September. I am hoping we get an interview in Germany. Do they allow the spouse to go in with the beneficiary?

While researching on VJ for my own case I came across a lot of your posts and just wanna wish you well. I hope you two get to be together for good (insha'Allah)!! Best of luck with the interview!!

Thanks a lot!!! It won't drag till November (Insha'Allah)

How long after filling out DS-160 one could schedule an interview?? We are expecting a notification from NVC in a couple weeks, so you suggest hold off paying the visa fees too? And how do we extend NOA2?? Does it affect our case in any way?

    Appreciate your help

  12. Hi Everyone! I am a newbie and been researching VJ for a while. We have applied for K1 and my child has been applied for in the petition along with me. I have a lot of questions but here is one that has been worrying me the most

    1. Sole custody for my child is in process in court. At what stage do I need to share the custody papers with NVC/Embassy? and for how long DS-160 can be put on hold (Since custody is required to get his passport)? My NOA2 was 27th July and will expire on 27th November.

    Thanks in advance
