Hey y’all! It’s been a year since we filed! Did anyone get approved (I saw that one person did)? What are your timelines looking like?
My VJ timeline predicts November 7th 2024, BUT, I’ve been checking LIN timelines and have noticed that a lot of people here are given a decision in 14 months! I know it’s not everybody but I can’t help but get feel a little nervous/excited about the possibility.
Any other LIN service center filers here?

Just for fun while we wait, what is your estimated approval date as per visa journey? Mine started as Sept 28 2024 and my last update was Aug 14 2024
Mine is currently Aug 3rd 2024 - Nebraska Service Center

Why are you nervous? Your LPR with a pending I-751 and have all the rights to travel with expired GC and extension letter.
Isn’t it always at the discretion of the immigration officer at the border? I’m worried that I’ll be treated suspiciously with a pending I-751 with a divorce waiver. And when I get nervous I fumble and that would only create more suspicion… -
Received the 48 month green card extension today.
I filed with a divorce waiver after the completion of the divorce. Anyone else traveled/plan to travel with the extension letter and this waiver? I'm nervous about traveling outside of the US with this...

As of 31st of Jan, biometrics re-used. Application was received 28th Dec. LIN service center in Nebraska.

Apologies if this was answered before.
In various posts I've seen there are I-551 stamp...a stamp on your passport to extend you GC while waiting for the I-751, correct?
Is that still a thing? How do I get one?

Yes, I did. I filed back in December of 2018. Received an RFE in January of 2020. Had an interview done in April of 2021. Then another surprise interview where they just showed up to my house in April 2022 (which still makes no sense to me considering I filed a divorce waiver so literally nothing to see/prove at my house lol). Then finally after 4 years, got approved on 12/08/2022 and received my 10 year green card today 12/21/2022.
If you don't mind sharing, what was the RFE for?
If I get an RFE, I'm not sure what more evidence I could provide. 😵

Good morning , I’ve been checking this community of immigration since I started my process from adjusting All the way through removing condition I-751 , I just created this account to give hope to people that are still waiting and for you my brother ..
* I was approved on Monday 12/19/2022
* i filled and send my initial package on September 20 of 2020 , it took me 2yrs and almost 2 months, …
*Documents I send initially , title from both car , insurance both of our names , bills, a condominium we were in the process of buying also a house and taxes and more basics documents .. I never send them pictures but is a plus …
* when i first adjusted my status I had an interview and that was the only time I had an interview with them ..
* I request an appointment to get the stamp on my passport 1week before i got approved and after I received my stamp 1weeks later got approved , the uscis website updated my case that I have been approved and new card is being producing …..
They did not asked me for initial evidence , I was waiting and ready for an interview and had a bunch of evidence I was ready, I did not stop living at first was stress but then I stop worrying because I know my marriage was legit and Remember before someone send them anything to them they already know , they just are trying to confirm what they know ….
I initially filled jointly but things did not get well and my now ex ,she decided to left me and did not care anything even though I had 95% of bills , once she left she was as still using my debit card that’s when I realize she was taking advantage from me , and had somebody else behind my back and I was strong and was working super hard to keep going and after that happen I level up twice …and I told my self I’m going to get through this and I just need to remind positive and keep living , I did not hired any lawyer because I believed in that my case was solid I was ready to go for an interview or sent a ton of evidence but they never ask me for evidence, she has had taken the decision to divorce me even though I did everything to support her ,but at the end of the day I let her go, physiologically she was affecting my mind and at the end, I told her do what you need to do and I know my right and stop trying to intimidate me , and once the divorce was finalized , within two months I send it right away to uscis..
my case was at POTOMAC YSC AND THEY NEVER TRANSFERRED MY PACKAGE, the whole time was there …
this is hope for all of the people that have been waiting …
thanks…
Thank you so much for all the details.
My ex was a pastor and I'm a teacher. With the teachers salary, I didn't hire an attorney either. The divorce was expensive enough.
As evidence, I sent in the following in Chronological order:
1. A personal statement and declaration explaining why we divorced.
2. Photos of visits and family gatherings prior to engagement
3. Deed for the old house with ex.
4. Engagement photos
5. Wedding photos
6. Marriage Certificate
7. Joint health insurance prior to getting my own through employment.
8. Photos of our trip to South Dakota, MN North Shore to celebrate my birthday, Mexico
9. Joint Income Tax Return for 2020
10. Property Tax Statement for 2020 for both of us.
11. Deed for new house with ex.
12. Home and Boat insurance with ex.
13. Tour reservation of our trip to Iceland.
14. Photos of our trip to the UK and Iceland
15. Christmas photos and some other photos of our time together with friends and family.
16. Bills from going to couples counselling
17. Married, Filing Separately, Income Tax Return for 2021 showing that I pay taxes from my job as a teacher and from my rental property in the UK.
18. Final utility bill for ex showing residence until he moved out.
19. Dissolution of marriage certificate and other divorce documents
20. Four letters by U.S. friends and pastors attesting to our relationship, pre-martial counseling, marriage and confirming that they have met our families.
I feel that I have covered all the bases. The only thing we didn't have is joint bank accounts and we don't have kids together either (and thank god for both of that!)

Hi Everyone!
I just filed I-751 today with a divorce waiver. I am curious to know if anyone here has done that and how it all went. I am hopeful but also very nervous!
TYIA!

That makes sense. Her school has expressed a willingness to submit a letter on our behalf as well, so our hope is that, in theory, they could push the "cultural and social interests" angle (to the extent they are comfortable doing so) while we also pursue the financial loss angle as the primary means for expedition.
How did it go? I’m also a teacher and thinking about expediting EAD and all I have is an offer to start (in August) but they need to hear back from
me by end of April because if I can’t work, they will recruit somebody else before the summer holidays.
I’m not sure what kind of evidence they need other than a letter of a job offer.

If you have a job offer in writing you could try expediting your EAD. I believe you have to call USCIS and tell them you want to expedite.
I thought about it but I don’t think I can fall into the right category. Severe financial loss doesn’t apply to me because if my employer has to wait longer than May, they could just as easily find someone else (I’m a teacher). All I have is a job offer.
-
I got a request for initial evidence a week ago. They were asking me to send additional evidence about my husbands pay. I responded to it today.
Right now I don’t care too much about how long the green card or AP takes. I have a job offer on the line - due to start end of August and the employer is kind enough to put me on hold for the position. So I need to have a general idea of how long I’d be expected to wait to receive EAD after they receive the evidence. Does anybody here know? More recent experiences would be so helpful. My case is at the National Benefits Center in MO and I already had biometrics done last month.
Thanks!

Report back when your status changes to issued and when you actually.receive the passport. I know that there are different factors for different people, but I’m sure that other London filers would like to know.
Thanks!
Got it today!

Hi,
My K1 status changed from immigrant to non-immigrant yesterday and is in administrative processing. I’ve read that this is a good sign as the next step is issued, but no idea how long it takes!
Anyone have a rough idea how long it takes from the London embassy?
Thanks!

Hi Ashweehee,
just wondering when you got you visa status changed to issued.
My K1 status changed from immigrant to non-immigrant yesterday and is in administrative processing, I’m really hoping it comes through by Friday and super nervous about the whole thing.
Thanks!

My last update was “biometrics re-used” and that was Jan 2023. My file was sent to the Nebraska service center (LIN) and I’ve been checking people’s timelines on VJ specific to LIN. It seems like a lot of the LIN applicants are getting decisions in about 14 months. I’m hoping mine gets approved without a long wait too but who knows, I applied with a divorce waiver so might take more time.
You could check VJ timelines for California Service center to get some idea.
