I'm in exactly this situation right now. Most, if not all, F2A petitions go to the California Service Center. They will ultimately approve your petition after an upgrade. If you check the other thread, they has given many people a written response that the petition will be adjudicated within 5 months after the upgrade.

Yes, me too.. N400 interview next month.. I-130 about to go ...

If you file as F2A now, and upgrade (2 months later), most petitions get approved within 5 months of an upgrade. [Total time to NOA2: 7 months]

If you wait for the naturalization (2 months), your petition can take anywhere between 7 months (Potomac) and 14 months (Nebraska). [Total time to NOA2: 9 months - 16 months]

    The decision is yours.

Thats what I found out as well.. thats why I am going to put my I-130 before becoming USC.. but I am not aware of California LPR only thing..

Please don't do it. Wait till you get your naturalization certificate in hand and then file. I did the same mistake, flled I-130 for my wife on 02/2019 when I was LPR. The case was sent to the California center, I got my citizenship in July and I called to upgrade, sent proof of citizenship and nothing since. My case should be transferred to the Texas or Nebraska...centers because California's only process for LPR. Do yourself a favor and wait. YMMV by the way.

    Did you get upgrade letter

    Hey!

    N400: October the 8th, 2018

Interviwe letter: June the 7th, 2019

Date of interviewe: July the 8th, 2019

Decision for ROC was made three weeks later cuz they asked me for more proofs.. so they accepted my N400 application after three weeks of attending the interview.

still waiting for the date of my oath ceremony..

    How about you?

Those dates sounds correct ... based on my analysis on data from VJ and from friends Nashville averages 240 days from Date of application to Interview (Recently, improved to 210 days.. ).. and about 63 days from interview to oath .. adding 3 weeks of ROC ..You should expected oath at End of September time frame

My N400 was -- March 13, 2019 and still waiting for interview .. Hoping to get letter sometime early October ..

Agreed. Wish there was a way to flag up people like the OP who are so selfish and think they are above the rules. His mum doesn't deserve to have a B2.

How could you conclude ? I am just asking for opinion and legal way so that she can stay longer ..  Anyways, thanks for response

You are flirting with disaster here.   You have to file the I-130 first.  She can't come here to take care of her grandchild.  That is work and a violation of the B2 visa she has.

She cannot enter the US with the intention of adjusting - that is fraud.

Thanks Paul .. got your point
