oh what are the orders? just to self isolate at home?

Yup but since he was just traveling through it was no issue! I was stressing for no reason.

After nearly 48 hrs of travel and 4 planes, he arrived here late last night! He said the CBP process is San Francisco was SUPER easy and lasted less than 5 minutes.

Sorry to hear that you keep getting rejected. I actually know of two people who got their waivers. One person got it within an hour and they’re leaving today for the US. The other person got their waiver for a flight in June.

Just wondering if they person you know that has entered the US had any issued at SFO?  My fiance is boarding his flight in a few hrs and I got an alert from United about the self-isolate orders.  I wasn't nervous before but now I'm nervous about his connecting flight out of SFO.

I feel like I'm going to be stressed until I pick him up!

that's good to know, thank you! i'm turning super annoying and pushy with them now ;).  we plan to rent out our house, but only have emails with the agent indicating that- we obviously aren't currently renting it as we need somewhere to live! i'll include the email to the agent.  we haven't disconnected aanything either- and why would you if you're not sure you can even go!  how long after the flight did they approve it?

We got the approval a few hours after the initial flight.  He wouldn't have made it unless we had approval a couple days ahead of time though... The only domestic airline still flying between Adelaide and Sydney appears to be JetStar so he's going to have to fly to Sydney on Friday for his Saturday departure with United.

I think some sort of statement of intent will probably work.  That's what he did reference their request for his future travel plans back to Australia.  It sounds like a statement from your realtor might do the trick to satisfy that requirement.

i know! why bother giving a reference number if it's useless!

Keep calling!  Channel your inner pushy American lol

As for our update:  We finally got approval but it was after his initial flight.  Luckily, we'd canceled the flight.  Since United is issuing credit for cancelled flights right now, we'll be able to put it towards rebooking later this week.  The approval says it's okay if the date of travel changes but if the port of exit changes then you'll need to resubmit.

Some tips for others who apply:
They requested a statement regarding his intended return to Australia.  He wrote something up stating that he does not intend to return for the "foreseeable future."
They also wanted proof that he'd terminated his lease and employment.  They also mentioned that disconnected utilities would satisfy this requirement.

He's on the phone with them right now... *fingers crossed*

  6. We have an waiver request in for my fiancé's flight on Monday... United is still doing some flights but I need to call them and confirm the details of his flight bc it's been changed a couple of times already.

This is our third attempt at a waiver.  The first time we tried, they said they needed more information but they didn't say what we needed.  Then my dad passed suddenly so we included that information on our request and they responded with a request for "proof of relationship" and a copy of the death certificate.  That was probably two weeks ago and we haven't heard back yet.  Unfortunately, I haven't heard of anyone else receiving approval yet so I'm starting to lose hope.  His visa doesn't expire until Sept but it still has me on edge.

    Hello all,

As I posted in another thread, I'm (not so) patiently waiting for my Australian passport to be returned from the US Consulate in Sydney. 😬 It'll be 3 weeks since my interview in 2 days - so really it should be any day now.

I'm interested in opinions on what would be the implications on me travelling to the US on another passport (I'm a dual-citizen) before I receive my AU passport back with visa from the Consulate. Obviously I wouldn't be entering the US on my K1 visa? I currently have a valid ESTA and I have Global Entry through my other passport/citizenship.

I'm just getting concered about President Trump announcing further travel restrictions - namely from Australia. Our wedding is scheduled for the end of this month.

    Thanks :)

    C

I'm surprised you haven't got it back yet... My fiancé's interview was on March 2nd and he got his back a few days later.

I'm dealing with the same concerns about restrictions because my fiancé can't travel until towards the end of April and our wedding it planned for June.
I think the implications could be bad when you go to adjust your status... especially since you'd be entering with the intent of getting married.  Technically, if you get married in the US and aren't on a K-1, I believe you're supposed to leave and then file an I-130.
The K-1 AOS instructions require the I-94 as part of the evidence which would show that you didn't use your K-1 to enter: https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-485instr-pc.pdf

Hi all, I would like to ask what document would be similar to a certificate of employment for my fiance (petitioner) who works for the air force?

We haven’t received the letter from the NVC yet but we just want to be prepared as early as now. NOA2 date - Feb.12, 2020.

He has prepared the Statement of service and addressed it to NVC.  Will that be okay? The statement of service just provides his position, date join, date when he'll be discarged and awards received.

    Thank you very much!

Just to give you peace of mind... My financé just had his interview in Sydney on Tuesday and I'm AD Air Force as well... I provided my statement of service from vMPF, my "personal statement of military compensation" from mypay and a few leave and earning statements.  They kept those things and gave him back all the bank statements.
I also wouldn't alter the statement of service letter as it's on Air Force Personnel Center letterhead.
If ya'll need any help or have any questions, just shoot me a message!

Hey, all.  New to the forum.

    I-129F
    Filed:  9/11/19
    NOA1:  9/16/19

I am in Florida and my fiance is in Australia.

Question:  How are any of you planning any sort of wedding with the timeline being so difficult to estimate?

My finance is from Australia too and I'm just over in Mississippi on the coast!

I'm probably crazy but we're planning ours with the worst case scenario being us losing a deposit.  We tried to file early enough that we had wiggle room in our timeline but not so early that it'd force him to come here too soon.  I'm military and we'll be moving even further away from my family next year which is why we're trying to plan it.  It's a little stressful but it'll work out how it's meant to... All we can do it make sure we're prepared and continue to follow instructions!

Hello to everyone else as well!  We received our NOA1 6 Sept 19 and I'm just now exploring the forums.
