  1. Hello,

My fiance and I want to apply for her greencard coming from Colombia to the United States but we have one issue. We are getting married next month and plan to proceed as planned. However, she had her visa revoked at immigration on her way back to Colombia.  She work here. Went to the state police to have her fingerprints taken for a job. But the officers pulled her into a room before departure and asked her. She admitted and they sent her on the plane.  Any advice on how to proceed? Can we still apply?

Sure, there are lots of folks that get RFEs all the time during their immigration journey. You are certainly not the only one to receive an RFE. Just check some of the forum pages, there are RFEs mentioned all the time.

We had managed to escape the "dreaded" RFE letter all through our journey, only to get one during our ROC processing. We supplied them with the information that evidently the USCIS adjudicator felt that they needed for our case. If I remember correctly it took about 4-5 weeks from our receipt of RFE notice, to submission of info, to approval of our RFE application. Just hang tough, and sit back and wait for the good word.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

Thank you. We got the Visas issued today. Praise God

Agree. It is highly unlikely that the office staff has stopped doing all of their other work, and are just waiting to receive your response to your RFE. There is no time frame for completion after receipt of RFE documents. Hopefully it be processed promptly.

I'm sure they are not waiting for our documents in particular but it's been over a week since they received them. I just didn't know if anyone else had experienced this process.

  4. My Fiance and I were approved on 10/15 at the interview. During the interview, there was some confusion about the validity of her divorce decree. on the following friday, she received an email asking her to send the original decree. The attendant made a mistake because she approved everything but we sent anyways. They received the documents on 10/23. My question is...should it be relatively short time for approval since we completed the interview? Anyone have experience with this?

Hi Everyone, I am a newbie and please pardon me if I post this to the wrong forum.

So my question is: do I have to tell my fiancee living oversea about my previous marriage? ( it was divorced legally a year ago ) . I plan to petition her to United States to live with me next year 2020 , I was worry if the interview officer will talk about my previous marriage and then my fiancee will be surprise but the fact is I really want to hide my previous marriage. Does anybody know if I can hide my previous marriage to my new wife ?

    Thanks for any advice

    Jamie,

I can't believe you asked this question. Is there not any shame anymore? Tell her today. Now!

Did you get in touch with the doctors? Fees will vary but the $180 it’s only for the medical itself, it doesn’t count exams (chest X-ray or skin test for kids), urine and blood tests. Keep in mind if any vaccines are needed, then it’s more out of pocket

I did.I have the answer. it's about $183 but in Brazil, it's hard to get a straight answer. I've had to ask several times. They have all their vaccinations, which is great.

  7. Good afternoon,

I scheduled the interviews for my fiance and her children for October 8th. I paid the embassy fees and understand I need to pay a medical fee as well. The children are 18 & 7. I'm confused on the medical fees. $180 each but I saw a separate fee of $84 for the 7 year old. Can someone explain what that fee is or is the 7 year old subject to a different fee? Thank you in advance.
