Hey guys

In the page my uscis.gov, it jus says "in process". Is there some other place that we can go look at to check the status? 

I havent even received my SS yet, I entered on the 19th of Feb. Should I be doing something about it?

Is there a separate application we need to fill out for applying for the social security card? 

And also, I didnt receive any packet from the consulate. I got the physical copy of my medical from the hospital tho. 

Does that mean I shud jus take that with me to hand over to the immigration officer in the  US?

A couple of doubts xP hoping @dwheels76 or someone else can clarify them!

I received my cr1 visa stamped to my passport today.

It says IV expires 26 July. Does that refer to the date before which I should enter USA?

Secondly, it says at the bottom "evidencing permanent residence for 1 year". Does that mean this Visa is valid only for a year? Coz i thot we got the CR1 for 2 years after which we got the 10yr card..?

Sorry I'm jus trying to understand this!

Guys, I had a quick question! I got my CR1 visa and I'm planning on travelling to the US by next week.

I know that the greencard takes a while to come, will there be a problem in travelling out of the country(USA) before I receive my greencard in hand? Will I be able to enter back into the US using jus the IV stamped in my passport..?

So my consulate in Manama had asked me to upload everything to the ceac website before the date of the interview. 

This doesnt mean I ll have to re-upload all the initial docs like birth certificate and all that again right? I already uploaded these while the case was at NVC. My consulate was jus referring to any extra docs, if so, right?

Yes they sent me a mail a couple of days ago asking me to submit everything this week itself, as my interview is on Feb 10. Failure to submit wud result in rescheduling of the interview. 

The only things to take to the interview on the 10th are photos and chat records. 

Wondered if this was the common practice now..?!

Is it okay to wear jeans to the interview 

Does everyone have to submit their passport nd document originals to the consulate before the interview itself for the pre screening process?

Your educational and all that has nothing to do with a immigration visa.

 

Also there is no fee to be paid at embassy.

What about proof of employment? That also doesnt apply to us..?

Also, they have specified "visa fees payment" if applicable should be brought to the interview. 

Does that refer to the 220 USD for the greencard? Should I be making that payment now itself?

My interview was originally scheduled for the 11th, but I got a mail today in response to a request I had placed earlier, stating that it's been moved back to the 10th Feb. 

Now they re asking me to upload a list of docs to ceac like proof of employment and educational qualifications and such, along with civil docs; and to submit the originals at a drop box in front of the embassy at the earliest to complete pre screening.

Guys, has anyone been asked at a visa interview to show old chats?

The only conversations me and my husband has had are calls and chats over WhatsApp, do I really have to take a print of those or is jus photos and wedding album enough?

So I got my IL on Jan 23 and I finished my medical on Jan 26, waiting for the results now. They said it will take 7 working days...

My interview date is Feb 11 and ceac case status still shows as "in transit".

I want to get an earlier interview date if possible. 

Should I wait before requesting for one or can I send a mail now itself? 🤔

DQ date was 8 Jan...

Guys, for the interview, Affidavit of support and i864, we need to only take printouts of what we submitted at the ceac right? Originals would only be the beneficiary's documents right?

My case got DQ on Jan 8th and I'm still waiting for my IL. 

Meanwhile, my Police Clearance Certificate, which has only 3 months validity expired on Jan 10th. 

Does anyone know if I will have to obtain a new PCC or will the old one suffice?

It means your petition is at NVC. It will say that until you are scheduled your interview. Once you are scheduled then it goes to "In Transit" and then when it arrives and you are logged into system changes to"READY".

So now you just wait. Hopefully it will be soon maybe a January date for you who knows.

But if they allocate only month-end, since we re mid of jan already, I dont stand a chance of getting an IL this month know? -.-

You don' t have country on your profile so no way to answer your question. Check the spreadsheet for others from your country to see the times.

I'm an indian but my consulate is Manama, Bahrain. I dont think there are many applicants from here, and I couldn't find any from Bahrain on the spreadsheet either. 😕
