  1. My fiance is in nigeria and the consulate has received approval of the i-129f, i will be going there in 2 wks and want to know if my fiance and i can go to the embassy to find out the interview date.. what forms/documents are needed at this point and should i take them with me to the embasy? just trying to speed up the process...

    Hello,

You can go M-Th, but make sure that you are there before 11 a.m. as this is when they will call for inquiries and when they do, get in the inquiry line to see if ur fiance can pick up his packets. Make sure he comes with the approval notice and the letter from the NVC which will have the case number on it and also he will need to bring his passport as ID.

  2. thanks gogo and edp333

I called my wife and the visa is indeed in her hand...I still can't belive this :dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::thumbs:

That is fabulous news, Wintime!!  Congratulations to both you and your wife :D Here is the updated chart:

    Hello Cheryl,

Just wanted to add something to the chart. The petition left the NVC on March 14 and the embassy received it on March 25. My husband is going to the embassy on Monday to see if he can get packets 3 and 4 and if so, I will update u with his interview date. Hope you like the USA so far.

    Deb

  3. Congrats to everyone who have had some progress! Maybe we should be started an AOS thread :P

Whoa Kingosabe! Let the cabooses catch up to you steam engines before you go starting an AOS thread, lol! Our petition is in Belgium at the moment...almost there. Wait until my husband get's his visa and comes home, okay?

    Thanks,

    Deb

    LOL ok hahahah.

Heres some info i wish i had before i moved:

For AOS...the doctor in Canada did not give us an immunization supplement that you need to file AOS. For all who still have spouses in their native countries, tell them to call the doctor and see if they can get it. If not...its an additional cost (and hassel because husband had to take time off of work because i didnt have a drivers liscense!) in the USA. Lucky for us, there was a doc in our city that only charged me $15 for it. BUT he charged me $35 for tests that were run in Canada and were in my medical package that was handed in at POE. Some people were charged $150 for the supplement...so depending on what city you live in it can get expensive. Hope this helps!

Can you be more specific? What is the name of the supplement so I am sure to tell Mike.

  4. Good morning everyone! I am not able to sleep! My husband will be home by tonight! I cannot even begin to tell you all how I am feeling right now. I don't think there are words that can express that. Wow!

Congrats Deb on your petition leaving for the embassy. You will know the interview date before you know it! Then the interview . . . then the shaking your head in awe . . . whew!

You all have a wonderful week.

    ~Tomeca

Thanks Tomeca! I know you are so excited!!! I am excited for you!!!! Mike is not far behind Kingsley. I will keep everyone posted.

*Disclaimer Please do not make any decision on your visa process on the merits of this chart. This is what VJ users have claimed in their VisaJourney timelines. I just cut an past the information to be tracked and updated as I discover more information.

    Hello Lurking,

For your records, I have an update. This is Deb from "Adewunmi and Debra" from Nigeria and the update is that the NVC received our K3 petition on 03/12/2008 and left the NVC going to Lagos on 3/14/2008. Do you want to know when he gets an interview date or is this all the info you need?

    Thanks,

    Deb

  6. Hello everyone,

It finally happened!!! My K3 petition made it to NVC today, 3/12/08, so soon I will be coming back to let you know when Mike's interview is.

    :dance::dance::dance::dance:

    Deb

OMG OMG OMG WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOO sooooo happy for you! Congrats!

LOL, thx G or A, whichever one of u left this message! I hope when I call NVC tomorrow, they tell me the petition is on its way to Lagos. How are you two doing now? Having lots of fun together?

Having a great time....loving the USA so far. Waiting for AOS isnt so that great...but nothing u can do about it! Hope u get your inteview soon so you and hubby can come down to SoCal

    A

I am glad you are enjoying the USA. Eh, the wait for AOS isn't so bad. At least you are together with G, that's the important thing. The rest is minimal. I have good news. My K3 petition left NVC on 03/14/08 and is on its way to Lagos. YAY!!!!!:dance::dance:

Finally, I get to share in the excitement of this phase, lol. Keep me posted on your AOS. Do you like the shopping in LA better or in Canada?

    Deb

  7. Seems to be that I-129F's are cancelled due to people filing I-130's before July 30th and I-129F's after the fee increase/no fee for I-129F filing. Good luck to all of you!

    jen

we have couple of members here who filed i-130 before july 30 and then filed i-129f in august but still got the 2 petitions approved the same day

Yes, I was one of those and the K3 is now at the NVC getting ready to be forwarded to the embassy in Lagos and the I-130 was kept back to await my husband's entry into the US

  9. Congratulations on getting past that huge hurdle, Deb :D

Congratulations also to Faith11 on the approval

    Here is the updated chart:-

    NOA2-1.jpg

We have a couple of weeks with no interviews, so I hope to see some good news from Ed and Pechez during that time :) I am also wondering whether any of those left in white have received interview dates and just haven't posted about them.

Thanks Cheryl! That sure was a long, hard road, but we finally made it. I will check tomorrow to see if it was forwarded to the embassy. I was going to check Friday but got busy. I am glad to see you back. How do you like Iowa? A bit too cold and snowy for u?

  10. Thank you all very much. It seems like it would never be but in less than 48 hours I will have Jazzie back in my arms after nearly a year! Jaz and I will still be here in forums cheering the rest of you guys on. We both firmly believe that we all started in this together...we're all going to finish it together. (Afterall we still have EAD, Removing Conditions, Citizenship etc..) The journey is not yet over but its about to get a little easier.

Amen to that! We have to continue to help each other even after our spouses are home. I for one will be doing that for others as well.

  11. Hi kelly1290:

I have been reading this thread for sometime and I have particular interest in your postings because our situations are similar: we are both filing for K-3, and through the U.S. Consulate in Lagos. I haven't received my NOA2 on either my I-130 or the I-129F yet. I filed in January 2008. Could I send you my e-mail for better communication? I am happy for you, for having your petitions approved.

    Hi A & O,

Thanks so much. Sure you can write to me. Send me a message over VJ. U probably won't see anything happening with yours until probably around July. U have to give them six months to start working on your case. Mine was a long hard road, but I am finally starting to reach the end. Thanks for your communication.

    Deb

  12. Hello everyone,

    Deb

    :dance::dance::dance::dance: YAY DEB!! Congrats!!

Thanks dave and jaz!!! Your the first one to notice in this thread. I think everyone that was in this group has their spouse home already so have stopped coming here. Can't blame them!

    Deb

LOL! I can't blame them either. I must confess I've neglected this site a bit since my wife will be here in less than 48 hrs. There are no words for my excitement! :D :D :D :D :D :D I told gogo just as G&A had that we are going to remain until the rest of our group make it. Jaz and I will try and get on when we can. I also just moved and the place I moved to has no internet access at this time  I will reply when I can from work though.... ;)

Oh, I am so happy for u! I'm getting closer to being with my husband. We have been married a year on March 10 and we still aren't together. But at least we are getting to the light at the end of the tunnel! I think his interview will probably be in May. The latest scheduled interview for Lagos on VJ was April 22. Lagos is starting to come through now. I think every VJ'r that has gone through Lagos so far has been approved. I know my friend, Kingsley's Princess's husband just had his interview on March 10 and all they did was look at their myriads of pics. They didn't look at chats, phone records, or emails. The guy seemed to love their pics and only asked him 2 questions...where did they meet and describe their relationship. The CO was quite satisfied with just that. The CO also was impressed at how well their evidence was organized which her husband did the organizing. I think if you go in their with a confident, friendly attitude, you pretty much have it made.

I think me and gogo are the two caboose's holding up this show, lol! We're going to make it though! Hope your wife has a safe trip home.

  14. Here are the newest approvals! I will combine them when I get to the office. Conratulations to all! I have posted people here who have sent there petitions before August, because everyone deserves to be noted! Oh, and one from Vermont! Let's pray for more!

    Hello Lurking,

I am not sure if you saw my post from last night or not, so I will post it once more. I am Deb from the Nigerian couple "Adewunmi and Debra" whose I-130 and I-129F were approved on the same day, Jan. 9, 2008. I just found out late last night that my K3 petition is finally at the NVC and assigned a case number and will probably be on its way to Lagos in 2-3 days. I noticed that our names had disappeared off your list. I just wanted to be able to give hope once more to other K-3 filers that filed after the fee increase and did not pay a fee for their I-129F.

    Thanks for your help,

    Deb

  15. Congratulations Kelly!!! And thank you for posting the information here!! That is just fabulous news (and a big relief) for a lot of us here who want to take the K3 route. However, if I am looking at your timeline right, it took close to two months for your approved petition to get to NVC ?!?! That's a huge disappointment -- I was hoping it would be more like 2-3 weeks. Anyways, congratulations again!!

    Shreyans

    Hello everyone,

I am here to let everyone know that my K3 petition has finally made it to NVC as of today, 3/12/08, and was assigned a case number.:dance::dance::dance: K-3'S ARE STILL ALIVE!!!!

    Deb

Thanks Shreyans! The reason it took that long is because some yahoo at USCIS did not separate my K3 petition from the I-130 folder before they sent it to await my husband's arrival in the US. I waited the 2-4 weeks it usually takes to reach the NVC and finally called USCIS to find out what was going on. They ordered my file back from national records center and found out what I said above. They then forwarded it 2 days after receiving it at USCIS and it arrived in 2 weeks from the time they sent it. That was the reason. Good luck in your journey!

  16. Hello everyone,

I am here to let everyone know that my K3 petition has finally made it to NVC as of today, 3/12/08, and was assigned a case number.:dance::dance::dance: K-3'S ARE STILL ALIVE!!!!

    Deb

    Great. Where's your I-130?

It was sent to the National Records Center to await his arrival in the US and AOS.

Then your written NOA2 would have said something to the effect that your relative was in the US?

This would be back to the standard procedure, post November 2006, if that's the case.

It's interesting that our conversations have swung from last summer and through the fall, how to keep the CR1 case moving, back to panic over keeping the K3 alive. There are some countries where K3 is a real advantage and then there are the families that only filed one I-130 initially and are counting on K4 visas for children to go with the K3 for their parent, who were really hurt by cancelled K3's. It will be interesting to see how all the cancelled cases end up being resolved.

Then your written NOA2 would have said something to the effect that your relative was in the US? (Yes, my NOA2 did say this.) I hope all cancelled K3's will be approved as Divine Mercy's and some others were even after being told the opposite.
