WoW, congratulations ! Very happy for you, Claire! Where does this point relais place located, in Paris? Does your husband live in Paris, too?
Thank you It's near Balard, here's the link: https://www.mbefrance.fr/fr/envoi/paris_15/0001?utm_source=Google&utm_medium=GMB
He lives in Paris too and he originally picked the at home delivery option but when he called last week they said the point relais is quicker because they get the passport the same day as they're shipped so it save 1-3 days depending on where you live.

I also booked them a flight through Air France, it is 17 days after the scheduled interview . Hopefully enough to receive their passports back.
His passport was available for pickup at the point relais today. He's leaving tomorrow!

This point relais service is free?
Yes the service is free! I think 17 days should be enough but you never know. They told him 10 days since it was electronic but we've passed the 10 day mark. I'll let you know once he actually gets his passport at the point relais!

OMG, it’s ridiculous ! Have you already booked his flight?
So we booked his ticket using miles with Air France so we were able to exchange it pretty easily.
He's also called the embassy several times (their service is outsourced so not always super reliable) and they recommended he change his pickup location to the point relais since it gets dropped off there the day the passports are shipped to home addresses. I don't know if anyone else is in this situation where we want him to leave as quickly as possible, but the point relais (Mail Boxes Etc rue Felix Faure) has been very helpful. He called the "point relais" and they said they go and pick up the passports at the embassy in the morning and have them available for pick-up staring 5pm.

Thank you and congratulations on the visa! How soon do you expect your husband to arrive in the US?
Mr&MrsT, I wish you to get your DQ very soon!🤝
We’re hoping he’ll leave right a day or two after he gets his passport (we booked the ticket today with miles so it can be more easily exchanged) so we’re hoping it will be issued soon! I’ll update the visa received date on my timeline so you can also get an idea of how quick the turnover is.

Hi Claire !
congratulations on your approval 🎉could you please tell me if they need th less than 3months wedding/birth certificate ? Translations
my huband ( usc) do we need to provide a recent birth certificate for him ?
thank you 🙏Thank you! Those three documents (birth/wedding/police certificates) were less than 3 months but we didn't need translations. For your husband, the US citizen, you just need a photocopy of his passport or of his birth certificate (US birth certificates aren't dated the way they are in France). Hope it helps!

Thank you, Claire! Can you specify please what questions have been asked? And to get your husband’s passport back, will it be mailed via post service? Do we need to provide a self-addressed envelope for that?
He was asked how we met, when he had been to the United States, his relationship with my father (who is the joint sponsor) and for pictures of our wedding. They took all the originals of our french mariage certificate, his birth certificate and his police certificate. The passport will be mailed via post service and you don't need to prove a self-addressed envelope. Let me know if you have any other questions

Those CR1/IR1 who had interviews in Paris today PLEASE PLEASE report on the result AND submit your review!
Here please if possible!
Thank You!
My husband's interview yesterday went well and only lasted about 15 minutes. The woman said probably 10 days to get his passport back since his case is electronic. The CEAC status still only says "ready" and not "administrative processing" or "issued." Hope this helps!

Hey! My husband just got an interview scheduled at the Paris embassy for November 6. The website says he can go and get his passport and visa himself after the interview when it's ready (instead of having sent). Has anyone done this before? If so, about how long after the interview is the passport ready? Thanks!

Just wait a bit, you should get your DQ. Did you open your messages in the CEAC portal?
I did but there are no new messages. I'll wait a bit but I hope it means a DQ is coming soon. Thanks!

Hey!
I just got an email from the NVC saying the status of my case has been updated. I logged on and it says all the documents are accepted but nothing says "Case Complete" or "Document Qualified." Do you know what this means? Thanks for your help.

Hello,
My dad is our joint sponsor so he filled out an i-864 and my mom filled out an i-864a. I know I need a scan of his passport but do I need to submit one of hers as well?
Thanks!

For those of you who got DQ quickly, did you submit translations? I know they're not mandatory just wondering if it helps. Thank you!

Hello everyone ,
i just called NVC and still no case number after 23 days and obviously not before again 1/2 weeks .
they say that they are currently working on August 29th ,2019.
are some people with NVC received on September 10th like me ?
I am pretty sure that I am gonna « fall » into the new public charge rule at that pace ..i am drained honestly..
sorry for this post ..
NVC received my case on September 10 and I'm still waiting for case number as well. If we get a case number on Monday (October 7) and if it takes 72 hours to process the payment we might be able to submit documents before October 14. Fingers crossed!

Thankyou so much. It makes sense. Are you have a joint sponsor ? We are thinking to have a joint sponsor.
Yes, I am using a joint sponsor. Good luck!

Hi, I have a related question. My spouse ( wife) is filing I-864 for me. When calculating household size,
Part 5, 1 Our answer is 1
Part 5, 2 Our answer is 1
Part 5, 3 - Are you currently married ? Our answer should be 0 or 1?
I think writing 0 or leaving it blank is a wrong answer but if we write 1 the household size would be 3. Can somebody please explain this?
Another question- I am dual citizen- Part 2 ,3 - Nationality or Citizenship ? What should I answer.
Me and my wife are having a joint sponsor-- She just started her new job and she was a student and never had job before and never filed taxes. Now with her i-864 can she still attach her job letter and pay stub? And is there any explanation for not filing taxes that we can attach.
I'm in the same situation as you except I'm the petitioner. I've been a student until this September so I have not filed taxes. I have not submitted the material yet but what I'm considering is submitting my job letter, pay stubs as well as school enrollment certificates for the last three years to explain why I did not file taxes.
For the household size, you put 0 for Part 5,3 since it says "persons NOT sponsored in this affidavit."
I don't know about the dual-citizenship part - sorry!
Hope this helps!

Hey guys, 361 days later, I finally got a rfe.
PD:09/28/2018
RFE:09/23/2019
Dunno what are they requesting. I can only comfort myself that at least they touched my case.
Does anyone know what to pay attention in terms of mailing them the evidence? Usually how long it takes to approve after we mail it?
We got an RFE for not signing the translation of the mariage certificate. We sent the translation signed and notarized and they received our response on July 31. The petition was approved on August 15. Hope this helps! Good luck.

Hi VJ family,
little update , my case is arrived at NVC on 09/10/2019 , so for real now bye bye Nebraska!! 🙏
Congratulations! How did you find out? Did you need to call? Thanks

Hey!
Our case was approved on August 15 and I'm preparing all the paperwork for the next step. I (the petitioner) have been completing my PhD in France for the last 4 years so I had no income. I now have a job in the US, but I still have not filed any taxes since my job started this month. I'm asking my dad to be the co-sponsor and will get his tax forms for the last three years. Will that be enough? I will also submit proof of enrollment in school for all those years to explain the non-filing of my taxes. Any other advice/ideas on how to best avoid an RFE in this uncommon situation?
Thanks for your help!

Congratulations
We got an interview letter one week after getting DQed but 2/3 weeks does seem pretty accurate.
