Hi, I did schedule my own interview. I received the email that my case expedite was approved yesterday morning. As soon I received it. I created the profile in UStravelsdocs.com and emailed the embassy asking them when could I schedule the interview. They replied back saying I am able to schedule as soon as I want and added a link and some directions to schedule.  I have to check many times to find an available appointment but I found one in November 19. Now waiting to see if anybody cancel before that so I can reschedule.

Also, I did attached a copy of the expedite approval email which says to contact the embassy directly for interview.

We have a similar situation and I was about to make a request to expedite. But based on some comments it seems like we'd need to schedule our own interview with the embassy and the waiting time to schedule could be more depending upon the country. I am doubtful so I am trying to just patiently wait for an IL. CC Aug 2, Mumbai..

Those who scheduled their own interviews, can you please share your experiences with the waiting times?

My husbund will sponsor me without joint sponsor. What AOS form should my husband fill up I-1864 or I-1864EZ. Thank you.

I did fill our both just in case. So I uploaded the I-184EZ in the other/Additional documents and wrote a comment saying that I was not sure which form should I fill out so I completed both  so NVC can use the correct one.

I did it like this so I avoid the RFE. I am the petitioner and i am sponsor my spouse without joint sponsor. All my docs were accepted in 24 hours  and I got DQ in 48 hours.  Than after that i expedite the case.

Yes. I got DQ on 9/30/2019, so I'm guessing this expedite won't be to difficult on the embassy. I sent the request for expedite on October 1st. We are only waiting for the interview for my husband.

I am pregnant and need have a scheduled C-section in March. I'm high risk since I just had a baby in January who was also a C-section. I sent them proof and I guess they were considerate that I need my husband back home as soon as possible.

He is currently here but has an approved i-601a waiver for being here unlawfully.

Nice. Wish you all goes pretty well. I just received the email. My expedite got accepted as well. They are sending the case to Santo Domingo immediately according to the email.

My husband's request to expedite his interview date has been accepted today! I sent a request on October 1st, got the email of the case being under review yesterday October 2nd, and today at 12:50 October 3rd got the email that our case is immediately being sent to the Us embassy in Guatemala.

I can't believe how fast that was!

Congrats. I am waiting for a response. I received the under review e-mail today. Hoping for a positive answer tomorrow.

Congratulations. Progress is being made. There was no messages in CEAC? If you didnt' get the DQ message, then you'd definitely get it tomorrow.

Maybe they reviewed you quickly since you had an issue with the payment right? or was that someone else.

Thank you!... Yes, I was one of those that the payment status remained in process for over 10 days. - I will stay tune.

I believe you have gotten your DQ because i got 2 emails one said my status had changed so i should check and the other one said DQ. When i logged in just to check it said everything was approved and accepted. If you go back to the earlier page of this thread there is someone that took a picture of there message that said DQ if yours looks like that then you are good to go! (i believe it is page 4 of this thread)

great. I checked but that one says directly DQ.  I may called later just to make sure and not to get to excite and than they later change something. - It surprise me just because my submission was yesterday.

Did the email/message say DQ ( Documentarily Qualified) if so that means everything is good and you will receive an email for the interview date.

It only said that they updated my status. this is the email below:

The National Visa Center (NVC) updated the status of your immigrant visa application. Please go to the Department of State's Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC) at https://nvc.state.gov/ceac. You will need your NVC case number and invoice ID number to log into your account.

Once you have logged into CEAC, please look in your message box or on the Status Chart at the bottom of the page. If NVC has feedback on any items you submitted, there will be a new message with details. If not, please simply follow the updated instructions on your Status Chart to complete your case. If any column says "Pay Now", "Invalid Doc", "Incomplete", or "Re-Opened", that means you must take action by paying a fee, submitting a form, or uploading a corrected/missing document

I received my case number and invoice number on yesterday.  My expedite request was not possible with the embassy.  I have a question, so I logged on yesterday and when I attempted to choose an agent (myself) it would not even allow me to.  It went directly to pay my fees.

Is this common or have they waived that portion for me since I cannot get my case processed at the embassy?

the NVC is no longer requiring the agent designation. I did call and asked them - they say now anybody with the case number and the invoice number can access the electronic systems and that is why they no longer asking for agent.

Just to be cautious — some country’s extend their own “expiration date” which is listed on the document. For Portugal, this is about 6 months. I’d err on the side of caution and not submit documents that are expired. I’d hate to see someone get a checklist after submitting a document whose expiration date was listed and passed.

If this is not stated, then I suppose the NVC rule of 1 year should be followed.

I’m on week 10 with no case number or movement with the NVC/Department of State once it arrived. I’ve seen people get theirs in 3-4 weeks, but they say it can really take up to 8 weeks instead of 6 now. I’d prepare your documents, but be prepared to wait. However, it took 12 days for my packet to leave uscis after approval, and then 7 more days to reach the NVC. My status changed to “departed USCIS” on day 12. It said approved up until this point, though I tried the online tracker late relative to my noa2 being issued (May 31 issue to I checked online tracker on June 10).

    Hello All,

My case status changed "Sent to the Department of State" on August 14 and I was approved on August 2 TSC. I called last Thursday and I was told that it can take up to 6 weeks. Not specific response from the NVC at all. Anybody has experience with this? How long it takes after the status change from Approved to Sent to the Dept of State?

I was able to call the NVC tonight - My case was received 8/23. Now the wait for the case #. she told me they are currently processing case received as of August 5.

Yes, call. Case number may not be generated but you can ask if it is and when nvc received your case

The case status will change to sent to the state department. Expect at least a week for the status to change. Our i130 was approved on 7/29 and our case was sent to the nvc on 8/7.

Thank you!! I will do that. Hopefully they don't delay that much.. I had two different approval dates. The letter says 8/2 and online says 8/5. Not sure which one should I go by.
