Not only must your bring the child to the embassy for an interview, you must have an interview scheduled for the child as well.

You need to pay the visa fee at BPI for the K2.  Complete a medical at St. Luke's.    Complete a DS-160 for the child.  And provide all required documents for the K-2 at the interview.

https://www.visaconnection-philippines.com/cfo.html   << because of the childs age it is only required to register the child to acquire the CFO sticker in the passport after receiving the visa.

Get your facts straight this new rule has absolutely nothing to do with illegal immigration. And yes Obama was called out about the record number of deportations when he was president but going from your statement you didn't hear it either because of your politics or willful ignorance.

You started with a rant about illegal immigrants when every single person that will be stopped by this new rule is a legal immigrant ( not illegal).

This is about one thing and only one thing reducing legal immigration. Less than 5% of all welfare is spent on legal immigrants who make up about 12% of the population.

I find it very amusing how so many immigrants here are willing to support these kinds of rule changes as long as it does affect them personally. How you think you are more deserving because you wealthier than the person being denied.

I know what I told you is against what they have in the instructions. I sent a photocopy, they sent me a RFE for a valid birth certificate. I had to look on their website what was an approved birth certificate -- just to make sure I had the right one, and I had sent them the correct one. So, in the RFE, I sent an original copy (they specified the color on the website) as well as my wife's baptismal record.

I would seriously suspect  that they have seen tell-tale sign of photocopying (the void statements all over the paper) of security certificate paper. Besides, if they have any question about your certificate copy, USCIS could ask to see the original and compare it to the copy at your next interview.

Interesting, your AOS experience seems counter to USCIS Form I-485 instructions: https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-485instr.pdf

When we filed our adjustment of status, we sent a photocopy of the certificate of live birth. uscis wanted an original, so they sent us a RFE for us to send it. This might have slowed down our petition for adjustment of status. oh, that was for my wife’s birth certificate (she is the immigrant).

For the i129, i sent copies of everything. Also, it was beneficial for my wife to have copies of everything i submitted to uscis.

My Birth Certificate had the same VOID all over it. We got through the I129F no issues.

This is a very common question, often asked several times a day.   Suggest that you read/review several threads in these K1 forums, there is a lot of great information being provided.

Good luck on your immigration journey.
