Travis1111 got a reaction from NikLR in Using a tourist visa while in possession of a K-1 visa
Update: I thought I would let everyone know that I was able to enter the U.S. on a tourist visa while in possession of a K-1.

I cleared U.S. customs at Vancouver International Airport and the customs agent assured me that I've been admitted on a tourist visa and that this will cause no problem for my K-1. "It's good to September," he said. And I've checked my I94 online and it states my class of admission is B2.

Of course I was taken into second screening and had to answer a bunch of questions. But nothing crazy. "When are you getting married?" "Where do you live and what do you do in Vancouver?" "Who do you work for?" "Where does your fiance live?" And "Why don't you want to enter on your K-1 now?"
I got the impression that that last question was important. I said I still had things to tie up in Vancouver. My office wants me to do some work for them in July and I have still have furniture to sell, and that sort of thing. And that seemed to satisfy him.   And in the end, I was admitted on a tourist visa and told that my K-1 remains valid until its expiration in September.
