    No updates yet from anyone?

Biometrics done on Thursday. Super fast.

This week or the next one I will apply for my driver's license. They told me at the office that with the NOA for AOS i would be able to get a temporary six month driver's license until i get my EAD approved (1 year after then).

Will keep you guys posted on how's that process in case somebody is interested.

Hi guys. No updates from us. We are STILL waiting on getting his divorce/marriage decree annotated. We have now experienced 5 paros (strikes) since our interview so everything keeps getting delayed. Everything is against us and it's been extremely frustrating.

We are still hopeful to get him here before the new year but I don't know. If the visa is tied to the medical, we only have until February so I am getting worried.

I'm sorry to hear this. I know how frustraiting it can be. Keep as strong and positive as you can.. at the end of the road, is worth it.

Let us know if we can help somehow, and don't worry, once that is over with, everything else happens very fast.

Done with biometrics!  Quick and easy!  Didn't even ask for marriage certificate or anything, just the letter and the passport as ID.  Woot!  Hoping the status changes by tomorrow and let the wait begin!

Good to hear!!! Do you check your status in https://www.uscis.gov/ page? in "Check case status" or did you create and account?

Another question that you might wonder or have info on... do you know if there's something we can do while we wait on the papers to be "legaly okey" to drive? I don't know if this depends on the state but it's my understanding that we need the residence in order to apply for a driver's license so i was wondering if there's something temporary that we could do. I have my driver's license from Argentina and with that I was able to rent a car but i don't think it will be good enough if the patrol or police stop me and ask me for me documents.

Even if I get my temporary permission to work approved I will need a car to get to work so, this is starting to go around my head.

I will try to go to the service center this week and have some insight info on this. If anybody has any information about it it will be very much appreciated. :)

Just checking in on everyone!  Any updates?

Hi everybody! Just catching up. I already received my SSN. It took two weeks instead of four as we were told so I want to imagine that it's because we have a clean and "easy to deal with" record.

We're a liiiittle behind but almost ready to send our AOS just before Oct 14th. I used the translation page that one of you recommended here (https://www.daytranslations.com) and I'm waiting for it. So far, so good. A little expensive but necessary for us at this point.

We're struggling a little bit with the I-864 (wasn't expecting that it was that much different for I-134) but i think we'll get it ready this weekend to send out next Monday/Tuesday. Might have some of my desperate last minute questions later on (hopefully not).

Just wanted to verify, did everybody sent the papers to the USCIS Chicago Lockbox ?

    Thanks!

Right.  It is a number, so, as I said, even if they do issue a RFE, it would be easily fixed.  In comparison to what we have gone through (medical exams in USA on top of paperwork), re-submitting a number would be easy! :D

    Hi everybody!

As for medical exams I have my reservations because we've been trough this a couple of months ago and spent quite some money and time on it. For me, it makes no sense to do it all over again when it's something they already have (on top of that I'm not a big fan of needles, I admit). I think it's some of your personal situations as well that you don't have anything, not a paper of the medicals took in Argentina.

I went ahead and wrote an email to Argentina's embassy for clarification and to see if they could provide me some kind of proof that I already went trough those and that the results are on their side. They replied confirming that the medical exams are with USCIS and that mines have validation until December 11th (I took them on June 11th) and that I SHOULD be fine with I-693 and advised me to check with them IF i have to go trough them all over again or add something to the existing ones.

I'm preparing my papers so what I'm thinking of doing is to add a note with this email translated stating this information. I'm thinkig that maybe a call in advance to the USCIS could help me clarify this situation as well.

I read that some of you are leaving that info for RFE if any or the interview. Just wanted to add this little piece of info here.

I will definatly add here if i have some other info regarding this.

  6. Hi everybody!

So we're finally happily married ❤️

And we're back to the papers... I cannot believe we have to go trough this again. Anyway.. I have a lot of questions. I've read the entire thread and the instructions to fill up the 485 and I have some doubts. I'm sorry in advance if these are silly questions, but I want to make sure I send everything as complete an accurate as I can. I know that most of you are over this part but anyway, if you can give me some advice it will make a huge difference.

    - Form i-485:

A- Number: I remember filling this up on i-129 but I thought that is my husband's A number. Is this A number supossed to be mine? How can I know if I have one assigned?

    - SSN: I don't have a SSN yet. In the state of MN you can get married without one so I waited for my marriage certificate to apply only once. The due date is October 29th so I guess that If I'm applying this week I will be fine. However, should I wait to have it to send my AOS or can I add a note stating that we're processing it ?

    - Recent immigration history: Bullet 19 - noninnmigrant visa number for this passport : Is this the control number on the visa printed on my passport?

-Status on form i-94: Should I complete this with "k1 admitted" ?

    - Current innmigration status?: same as the status of form i-94?

Part 2: bulleting 3 and 4. What's receipt number of underlying petition and date ?

    - Status on form i-94: Should I write in here "k1" ? my due date for i-94 is 10/9/2019.

Thanks again and I'm sorry. I'm completly rusty and bummed out that we started all over again with these forms.

    Congrats!!!

You're one step closer and the best part, you're finally together! ❤️

Congratulations!!!!  you must be really happy! these kind of posts fill me with joy! I cannot wait to be with my finacee and i still have a loooong way to go! it's been a month since we had our NOA 2 and we still dont have our NVC case number, but as i've been reading yours took like 6 weeks so I guess we have nothing to do but waiting! Congrats congrats congrats! :D

    Thank you so much! ❤️

Yes, mine took like six weeks. It was the longest waiting in the whole process. For other people here was faster so, you might get lucky!

Keep positive thinking, work really hard on your patience (for you and with each other) and enjoy your time in Argentina the most that you can.

If you need anything shout out over here!

    Good luck!

  9. hey everybody!

I wanted to follow up with everybody here. I'm already in my new home in MN! ❤️

    Some comments about the trip:

    - Somebody already commented this here or on another thread, can't remember perfectly who, if you can avoid Miami airport, do so. I lost my flight there. The airport was a complete mess. I'm used to land in NY for my connection so, I'm okey with crowded airports but this is a whole new experience. Maybe it was because it was my first time there too, but, seriously, never seen such long lines for security check.

    - To go trough migrations: Just let an officer know that you are intending to enter the country on a k1. They have this first check on the autoservice stations but it's not worth the time if you will have to go trough the migration officer and THEN the little migration's office.

    - I was at the migration's office for more than an hour. They called me and told me that the embassy forgot a paper on the front of the envelope. I had a word with the officer telling him that my envelope was in perfect conditions and all sealed up so there was no opportinuty for me to take anything out, or ripped off, or anything like that. I even took the envelope in the DHL envelope just as I received it. They were really nice to me and told me not to get worried, that they were going to process it. It just took a couple more minutes. So if your envelope does not have a paper in the front of it you might want to check with the embassy.

    - Because all of this things and how crowded the airport was I missed my flight. I was very upset and the ladies from the American Airlines saw my face and gave me another flight the morning after since there were no more flights to MN for the night. My fiancee rented a room for me at the airport (Yes, there's a hotel INSIDE the airport, you don't have to go anywhere) so i could take a shower and relax for a little bit and I got in the next morning flight. So.. I had almost FOUR hours in between and i could not make it. I guess it depends on the airport you're landing. Again this is my experience at Miami airport.

It was a bumpy trip, for sure, but I'm already home super happy and excited for things to come!. Today we're going to buy our marriage license and set the date (probably end of the month).

Thanks for all the support you gave me! And I'm here to help the new ones too.

For the rest of you, happy to continue this trip of papers with you! haha

So good to know! I saw your earlier post about requesting online and now we’re in that stage so I’ll go read in detail 😜 Thanks so much and hope your travel to the states goes smoothly!! Did you get the visa yet?

Let me know if you have any issue with it.

Thank you so much! I'm so anxious.. I still cannot believe we made it through. And yes, I got my passport back and the envelope with some papers sealed up less than a week after i got approved. I even picked up a DHL location in a shopping and it was super fast. The email with the tracking number got to my inbox just two days after.

Questions for the ones already in the states. Was your envelope sealed up with a corner kind of "cut out" ?

    Gracias!!

I'm reading it needs to say "Este documento acredita que el certificado emitido lo es con excepción al artículo 51 del Código Penal, a solicitud del propio interesado." on the bottom? Is that correct? Also does it need to be legalized or can we just bring the printed PDF?

Just as everyone here already told you PDF is just fine.

Don't worry and in case you don't get the one with the legend "Este documento acredita que el certificado emitido lo es con excepción al artículo 51 del Código Penal, a solicitud del propio interesado." (I didn't at first, not sure why) don't pay for it twice. You can submit a request online to have it added and send it to you the very same day.

    Hope it helps!

One thing I wanted to ask was about was what you physically brought to the embassy. We are planning to bring a folder with originals, our wallets with ID, but I've read you can't bring things like a cell phone at all. So we should just leave them at home?

I asked my mom to come with me so I left everything in the car with her.

I only took my ID out of my wallet and I brought an envelope with all the papers in my hand and that was it BUT there's people outside, renting like little "lockers" to leave your phone if you want to. There's a bunch of people that leave the phones over there so I would say it's "doable". I don't know how much they charge you because I didn't ask but I saw that along with many people leaving their belongings over there. They are located just two meters away from the main entrance.

@Fla&Mark Congrats and safe travels!!!!! Thank you for your advice on the interview, good to know we should plan for more time at the embassy

    Thank you!!!

We were only two people for the k1 with the 10.30 am appointment. Step 1, 4 and 5 (first check, fingerprints and handling the papers as medical exams, the voucher for the payment for the interview, the birth certificate and passports) only took a couple of minutes.

Then we were waiting until they called me at around 12:30pm so it was a little bit nerve wracking. My family was waiting for me outside and I couldn't get in touch with them, of course. So be prepared and calm. You'll be good! We will be waiting on your updates!

Update on our end: Our case is "Ready" already! So fast!

    Congratulations!❤️

I also have news.. I had my interview on Monday and WE'RE APPROVED!!! 😲😍 I didn't want to lose the chance to say THANK YOU to all of you who read my questions and inquiries and always replied back.

For Andrea and Gaston: the interview was quick but not the waiting. I was thinking that it will take an hour top and I was waiting for two hours seated waiting for them to call my name. At the interview they made really simple and ordinary questions like how long have we been together, how many times did we travel, how did we get engaged, what were the plans for the future and that was it.

I will be flying by the end of the month to Miami. Now I'm just waiting on the passport.

I guess we'll keep in touch in the other thread about the AOS and the next papers that we will have to deal with haha

    thank you all again!

Write them a n e-mail requesting for a date in June and see of they open new ones. You can let them know that prior to the e-mail with the P3 question, you saw June 26th as an option.

    Thank you @Fe.Ta

I booked the July 15th for now (didn't want to lose that one too) and on Monday when I drop my packet 3 I will ask for a sooner date.

Leason learnt: book first, ask later.

  16. Everyone! Just to give some reference about the dates.

I went to book my appointment yesterday and the following available date was June 26th. I was very happy because it was really soon and I'm ready for it. I didn't do it because I wanted to ask the embassy if that was enough time for my papers to be checked. (9 days in advance)

They replied today and told me that it was enough but when I went to save my date... JULY 15TH was the next available date.

Not going to lie, not too happy about it. One more month when you're ready to go sounds like a lot but it is what it is. We came this far so one more month is doable. I will try to get a sooner interview once I drop the packet 3.

Igual dejanos saber.

Tenías la partida paga que pediste online? O la gratuita online?

    https://www.buenosaires.gob.ar/tramites/solicitud-de-partidas
