NVC seem to picking up speed. Unless month or 2 makes a huge difference in your situation. Just go with regular processing without complicating things with expediting

I don’t think expediting complicates anything, it doesn’t even take you to the back of the waiting line. Except you have an official link to back up the ‘complicating things’ talk.

    Very sorry for your wife

but wondering how u think she will file for expedite anything in her condition

here even if she wanted to do this thru a lawyer ,  in my area,  hospital allow 1 visitor on list to see the patient in hospital (i would imagine that to be a family member here) / all that because we still have a covid crisis

fracture to thoracic vertebrae (that's her neck)  and all the other injuries /  Lord the poor woman is inmobile

If you get an interview and are approved ,then come , find a job and help  (but understand Nigeria beneficaries are often in long long AP after any interview and nothing here will happen fast especially with the former false divorce paper)

Give this poor woman a chance to heal according to you this is gonna take a lot of surgeries and time

Thank you. Ofc she needs the time to heal but it’s killing me being here helpless and worrying myself to death not able to be there for my wife. My parents are the ones keeping me sane since this incident happened, even my mother is hit hard as I have observed.

Will discuss with her when she’s fit enough to talk. I will handle everything and send the request with her email provided she’s able to get someone to scan the required supporting documents to me.
    Thanks again.

I am sorry to hear about her injuries.  Your wife can request an expedite based on hardship.  However, your past issues are likely to result in heavy scrutiny and extended administrative processing, imo.  I would not make any travel arrangements.......expedite does not mean fast in the world of immigration.

Thank you. No travel arrangements intended until visa is in hand. I just want to know what to do and how to go about the expedite request.

If your case is at NVC, your USC wife should contact NVC regarding an expedite for your visa interview in Lagos.  They will likely ask for documentation showing hardship to her if your visa interview is not expedited.  The issue of your past misrepresentation will likely come up at the visa interview, whenever that happens, so be prepared for an additional delay at that point, it will be up to the CO if you are eligible for a waiver or not.  Sorry to hear about the accident.  Good luck!

Thank you. I expect the misrepresentation issue to come up at interview, I’m prepared for it. To your first sentence, after post surgery recovery we will discuss it.
Documentation showing hardship will be doctor’s note, yeah?

  5. Sad news!!! Yesterday September 3rd, my wife had a car wreck with a 5yo baby girl in the car. Initial update I got was fractured bone in the lower leg.
However, half an hour ago I got new updates; both ankles were fractured and needing surgery - she is in surgery right this moment -, she has fractures to cervical and thoracic vertebrae, fractured sternum, 3 fractured ribs and a collapsed right lower lobe of her lung.
My questions are; do we have real chance for an expedite approval? Who files it, USC or I the beneficiary? What documents do we need to attach? Do I wait till she gets out of surgery and can talk before acting? Please I need your advices. What should we do???
    Appreciate your enlightenments.

  6. Go on and file. 1 visit plus other evidences like whatsapp voice and video call logs, chats etc is enough to get you through USCIS.

Since there is financial constraints due to covid, I suggest y'all wait till a week or so before interview for her to visit again.

Interviewer: how many times have you met?

You: twice. Matter of fact, she's been here over a week now, here is her travel passport.

Perfect age difference. Parents approve of relationship. Boy file away. You're good to go.

    Don't overthink.

I’ve looked everywhere but couldn’t find a thread on this topic, so I thought to start one. If there’s one before, kindly point me there. Thank you.
    So here we go

    Married 12.4.2020

    Filed online 1.30.2021

NOA 1.30.2021 (Got assigned to Nebraska)

    Case actively reviewed 3.29.2021

    NOA2 4.15.2021

    Hi everyone!

We got DQed yesterday at NVC

    Very surprising.

I checked the NVC processing timeframe yesterday afternoon, travel.state website said they were reviewing cases submitted April 24; we submitted April 30 😁

PS: anyone got their NOA2 yet?

    Hi everyone!

We applied in January 20th 2021

Married in Ecuador: December 29th 2020

    Applied online: January 20 2021

    NOA 1: Jan 20th 2021?

Case was received same day and got letter in the mail within a week (California Service Center)

When I had just applied, it said your case was received at Nebraska Service Center, but I asked Emma and said it's in California. Does this mean that it got transferred?

Now it says case is being actively reviewed since Feb. 24th

Also I am permanent resident I don't know if this changes anything at all.

Would it be helpful if we submit more evidence?

Any input on my case? I have seen people get approved very quickly after their case is under review. This is making me very anxious.

Going by what you've said, I believe your case is at CSC considering that's what it says on the NOA you got in the mail. This most probably means it got transferred.

Case under review means it's being worked on, you should get NOA2 soon, hopefully.

Be sincere in your answer, which is YES and explain still in the ds-260 form the reasons, because whether you answer yes or no they know what happened but just waiting for your honesty. They will also ask you same question at the interview and you still answer exactly as in the form.

For connection, check your internet speed.

Okay. Thank you for your advice. For connection, the site is working fine on Internet Explorer, that issue was with my Google Chrome for whatever reason.

  10. Hi VJ family,

I need help deciding what to do regarding DS260 question about willful misrepresentation and fraud. I was denied a K1 visa in 2019 due to counterfeit divorce certificate. It was not willful at all as I did not even know said document was fake until the Consulate found it to be and informed us through my then fiancee's congresswoman's office.

So my question is, do I select  no and give my explanations if/when it comes up during my interview or select yes (would this not mean that I am admitting I did it willfully)??

    Thank you.

PS: CEAC website keeps taking me back to sign in page when I clicked next from the first page of DS260. is it my connection or is anyone else experiencing this?

    Married 15.06.2020

NOA 01.01.2021 (Got assigned to Nebraska - I think)

Case actively reviewed 27.01.2021 (Not sure what this means in reality)

    NOA2 : TBC

So I am still waiting for my NoA2.

I believe ‘case being actively reviewed’ means your case has been assigned to an officer and said officer is actively checking your documents.
How they treat cases differ, so let us hope and pray you hear good news from them soonest.
    Congratulations in advance 😁
