Visa showed up safe and sound.
Naturally I am happy about that, but the website and tracking for Canada Post did not update it was on delivery. All morning I have been stressing about it. They can't even get their tracking right.
Good luck to you EdmoAM, I pray it works out swiftly.

So, on Thursday when the 10th business day hit, I emailed back asking for an update.
Then yesterday morning, they mistakenly replied to my email (rather than forwarding it) with a message to their supervisor asking what they should tell me!! They immediately sent me another email requesting to recall the previous one they mistakenly sent! (Too late, I saw it. And I don't think you can un-send an email anyways).
But they never ended up answering my email or giving me any information.
Now it's a long weekend and the earliest I will hear back will be Monday. 🤬
This is turning into such a #### showI meant to quote you earlier with my initial post.
Good luck to you guys! Hope it works out. **fingers crossed**

Literally, any other service is more reliable than CP, but for all their horror stories, this is by far the worst.
Yeah for sure. Ugh...
Keep us all informed and good luck!
**Sorry, was meant to quote the OP. Good luck to them!**

Nothing. Those who submitted Saturday and sunday got CC today. In just a day! It’s not fair that they put resubmission in a different line. I know it is their first time to submit but we resubmitted before them. I dont think it is fair at all. It is not first come first serve 😓
Damn, so sorry for this.
It's got to happen sometime soon!

It worked but it ruined the quality of the document, it is now blurry
I'm very sorry to hear that.
Another recommendation is take the original to a good printing company and ask them if they can compress it professionally. May cost you a couple of bucks, but you'll get a good copy that way.

This is turning into such a #### showThis is our nightmare right here. I can't rest easily knowing that I need to trust CP with this. I would have preferred anybody else in the world to handle such sensitive, critical documents. I would have gladly stayed in Montreal for a few days if the option to pick up at the consulate was available. It should have been.
I suppose the reason that the Governments use their respective postal services is probably price and courtesy for each other's federal workers and public service unions. Yet still, the track record of both sides of the border with them can turn my blood to ice.
I pray and hope that nothing happens to our visa. According to our tracker, it is in Mississauga, to be delivered tomorrow here in east Toronto (basically the same geographical area).
Hoping yours gets resolved super quick!

Thank you so much for keeping us posted on every step. I wish picking up is an option. Passport is safer that way. I’ve read some passports lost by Canada post.
Have you heard anything yet on your case? I know it's a holiday Monday in Canada, but has there been any movement for you at all?

I tried this and it only gets down to 6 mb. If i do any lower resolution then its not readable. Its the affadavit of support form so its 10 pages. Can i upload each individual page instead of as single pdf?
There are some software programs out there that will reduce the size of PDF files. PDF Candy is one. But for the demo you get ONE free compression, then you have to buy the software. That is what we did for our documents.

There is the example of the Privacy Act, which is what the NVC wants.
The pertinent line is "No personal information about you what found in the databank".

Hi there,
I simply googled up RCMP police check services and found one instantly.
He he took my fingerprints, I signed the application, paid him about $20 and had the correct check within the week.
If she’s Mexican, won’t she need one from there also? The family based immigration requires a police check from every country where the applicant lived.

you mentioned previously there are 2 options you can choose from: by courier, or pick up at the local post office. I was wondering what the "pick up at the local post office" option is really about. Can you choose a local post office near the Montreal Consulate? or has it to be the post office near your residence based on your postal code?
Morning,
I chose direct home delivery, which in hindsight, I wish I hadn't. It locks me home until the visa get's delivered. I would not suggest that. I had miscalculated on the date, forgetting that today was a holiday, thus no mail service. I have a truck to pick up tomorrow and pack, with the plans of being on the road Wednesday morning.
From what I recall, you can choose a number of very local MAIN post office branches. I am sure you can choose pick up of the visa wherever you want. This I would recommend since you can be notified by email or text to pick it up at your leisure.

Yeah, thus my worry and wish that we could have. UPS, FedEx, DHL, anybody would have been preferred.
Sorry, it was yesterday afternoon, at 1:54 PM, and the tracking number still does not register with CP. That sort of gap gives me a headache! Haha.

Got notification yesterday morning that my visa is with Canada Post. Not my first choice, but there was no option to pick up in Montreal. Too bad really, since I would have stayed another day.
So hopefully it comes today, if not, it will be Tuesday since Monday is a holiday here. Cutting our time razor thin since we wanted to be on the road by Wednesday!
The tracking number that they gave me is still not showing up in CP's system, so I don't expect it today.

Congratulations!!! Thank you very much for sharing your experience, very helpful! I thought that you can choose to pick up your visa the next day at the Montreal consulate. Is it not the case? are you able to specify which local post office you want to pick up your visa?
Hi there,
There was no option to pick up the visa, at least from my interview. I had already registered for courier delivery of visa back to my residence in Toronto.
The status of my Visa has been changed to "Issued", I am assume that is almost ready to print and ship.

Thank you. So I am just wondering, after you got CC, did montreal embassy e-mailed or snail mailed you a letter of instructions including getting a medical or did you do your medical as soon as you get CC/interview date? I just want to know if I will be waiting for something from montreal too after CC or interview is scheduled by NVC? Thank you.
I’m glad we can help.
The interview date came through email. That email tells you to book your medical.
Its important to go to the Montreal consulate website, which is linked through travel.org. There you can download the specific Montreal checklist and links to videos.
You also must register your interview with Consulate after you get the date. That takes about 3 days after NVC notifies you. There you assure your time and date is slotted and you get a chance to specify where and how you want to get the visa. You can have it couriered or you can pick up at local post office.
The Montreal website has a ton of information.

Did you just bring it with you or uploaded it on CEAC before interview? Thank you
The W-2 and Transcripts were both uploaded. There is a place for both documents.
Our lawyer recommended that the paystub is important to show that your petitioner is still and recently employed. It eliminates another trip hazard.
So I brought them all as backup documents and sure enough, they asked for them.

I am CR-1 spousal visa. What other document/s did they ask that’s not in their checklist? Thank you
The paystub, on the advice of our lawyer, and a copy of the affidavit of support.

Congratulations! I can’t wait for the day of CC for us. We don’t know anymore when our interview will be. I’ve seen some with July interviews already for Montreal.
Gah. I’m so sorry. You should get your money back from that lawyer of yours.
Read my review for the interview. The Montreal checklist does not include all the support documents that they asked for. I ended up supplying from my daughters financials:
The original signed copy of the affidavit of support (865EZ)
2018 W-2
2018 IRS Transcripts
Recent paystub
Not sure if the requirements are the same for K-1.
Good luck!

Hi all,
Interview was a success. Received the blessed Welcome letter. Now just wait for the visa and off we go.
No packet will be forthcoming, all documents scanned and uploaded electronically.

I just checked your profile. You got CC April and will have the interview this month? Wow! Lucky! Others wait for 2 months or more after case complete i think for interview
Aw thank you. We are super excited. But please don't forget that my case is IR-5 relative based. My US born daughter is sponsoring me to return to the USA. So the pacing and timing is different from what I've read. She was born in wedlock, she is over 21, so we have a fairly straight forward case.
I will follow your case with interest of course, hope it gets wrapped up super soon!
