Usually, they will update it in a couple of weeks. If not, I would send in a duplicate one in case that they lost it.

Hey guys,
I was born in Abu Dhabi in 88. Now at that time the birth certificate was a document issued by the Pakistan Embassy, a sort of a form, it contains all the information i.e. parent names, birth hospital and location, dates and even my picture. I understand this was the process at the time for foreign nationals born in the UAE.
Now if you look at the document requirement on the NVC site it says UAE birth certificates should be issued by the Ministry of Health. And there is nothing under alternative documents. So I dont fall under the criteria for valid birth certificate listed here or the one in the country of my nationality.
This is obviously not an uncommon scenario and I hope the NVC will recognize this. Im just worried it'll give them an excuse to issue a RFE.
I've tried reaching out to the Pakistan Embassy here and the local authorities to try and get something in writing but as expected currently there is no response. Im thinking of writing an explanatory letter and attaching it with the certificate and hoping there are no issues.
You shall try to get the certificate from Pakistan rather than UAE. Got the document notarized and explain it to the NVC.

Hey everyone,
First I would like to congratulate everyone who received a DQ! For those who are just beginning the NVC journey, good luck and let's all be patient together I am so thankful that NVC is still working hard despite everything going on with Covid-19.
Can someone help me with this? I really want to avoid having to re-submit any documents. My mom will be acting as a household member for me since I just became employed (graduated college in May, therefore - have never filed taxes). I must "prove" my relationship somehow with my mother. It says on NVC that this can be a signed written letter describing the relationship. My mom was born in Greece, so it's difficult to obtain her birth certificate. Second question - what other documentation do I need to submit on my mom's end in terms of financial documents? Any tips are greatly appreciated! thank you everyone, hope everyone is well.
I believe that your birth certificate rather than your mother's should be able to prove your relationship with your mother.

Usually marriage certificate or Birth Certificate would satisfy this requirement.

Congratulations! I know sometime it is very frustrating dealing with NVC.

My spouse attended her Junior and Senior High at a high school in India and stayed in a Dorm/Hostel. Do we need to provide police certificate from India as well . She is from Nepal and does have police certificate from Nepal.
It depends on how long had she stayed in India since 16. If it is longer than 1 year, you should need one.

,Unlike civil documents, I don't think the diploma needs to be certified by the evaluation company.

Yeah, I flew in to see him while the Expidite request was processing so was here when it was denied and poop hit fan over coronavirus
Basically, it’s transfer from NVC/embassy back to USCIS and have interview here in New Orleans... rate everything is going around the world right now, it will be a similar timeframe..
What is your current status? I believe for some non-immigrant status, you can't submit AOS.

Hi I am a bit confused. I was born in the Netherlands, then moved to Norway for 3 years, then dubai for 10 months and then back in the Netherlands. I know I need the Police certificate for Norway and the Netherlands, but I do need it for Dubai as well?
Thanks!
Only countries you have lived for more than one year and the country you currently reside.

I don't think it is a good idea to refile at this time. After failing the first AOS interview, and getting married in six weeks will raise a red flag here.
It is very hard to prove to officier that you were married in good faith rather than just a green card marriage..

second submission December 31
....we are so excited...
Good luck to everyone!!
🥰🥰Congradulations! I submitted my documents on Dec. 27, haven't heard back from NVC yet. The whole process is so frustrating. It is almost 7 months since the case arrived at NVC.

Double check your passport on the personal information

I would suggest first get a certificate copy of the old identification document from the china consulate in singapore. Then you can try to find a notory public in China and get a birth certificate notorized. Or you can use that document and explain the situation during the interview.

I usually have to dial at least 50 times in order to get into the wait line and at least 90 minutes waits to talk to someone.

Sorry about this, you might want to call NVC about this issue. We had similar issue, IV fee shown as paid but unable to access DS-260 form. It took us almost two months to resolve this issue.
-
It depends on which consulate. Unfortunetly Montreal is a very slow one.
-
My case was put under supervisor review since Dec.27,2019 because I could not access to the DS-260 Form after paid the IV fee.
I was told that the review usually took up to 6 weeks. However, I stil did not hear back anything from NVC.
I wonder if any of you had the same problem and how long it usually takes for NVC to resolve it? Thanks !!

Hi, I replied to poster above yours with details of how I resolved this. Not sure if it was my email to NVC or just time but after two weeks the status changed from IN PROCESS to PAID and I could finally access the AOS form.
Thank you for your reply. I called the NVC, they told me that my case needed supvisor review and it may take up to 6 weeks. IV fee shows as paid but still could not access DS 260 form

You could only send through public inquiry form. Please also make it clear about that you want to change the interview location. Otherwise, they would just update address
NVC hates changing interview location request. They would try everythig do slow the process. My case was stuck there for more than 4 months and still was put on hold. They would use some kind weird requirements like requiring address and phone number update in order to put this hot potato to other agents.

I am still stuck in this stupid process. The fee shown as paid last Thursday, but I am still not able to access DS-260 form. Called them last week, they asked me to try it again and again. But it sitll didn't work.

To pay the NVC fees, you must have access to a U.S. bank account. In addition, only a cashier’s check or money order will be accepted; no personal checks accepted. Useful information about the cashier’s check or money order:
- Make payable to the U.S. Department of State.
- Pay the exact amount listed on the fee invoice.
- Write your NVC case number on the memo line.
-
Mail the payment and invoice to:
