Good news. The similarities with G2R are uncanny.
I received a text message that my case was received 18 days after they received the package.
Quote for context
Wow, awesome. Now all you have to do is wait to hear from me 😂. Just kidding. I am happy that you got it. I received the extension letter 3 days after the text. Hope you get it soon.

The way I understand it "By law, permanent residents must carry a valid green card at all times" You will need the expired card and extension letter or a 551 stamp in your passport and you need to carry that. I know it is really overlooked but this day and age, I wouldn't want my wife to get pulled over or get caught up in some huge roundup. Even if at the end when ICE is called or on scene, and it is finally figured out, who wants to wait out a bad scenario that you could be possibly stuck in the middle of it. We live in trying times. I like to use my grandmother's old saying.... we are all fine until someone loses an eye.. 😂
Thanks for explaining. I agree that we should be as careful as we can at this time. I will keep it in mind. Thanks.

Depends on what state you live in. Some states/cities will absolutely not allow police to cooperate with the Feds.
Always found that rule silly. Never carried the Green Card - only the Driver's License. But I live in NJ, so if you live in a different state, might be different.
I am in NJ too. So you are saying it is not required to carry them here?

Received Biometrics letter dated 3/8 for appointment on 3/26. I was hoping they would let us skip. But at least this removes the uncertainty and doesn't interfere with any travel plans we had.
Puerto Rico - here we come!
Do you think we need to carry any immigration documents going to PR and flying back?
Congrats. I was in PR last year and they did not ask for any immigration documents in the airport. Drivers license was enough to travel since it is a US territory. But just to be on the safe side, you should carry them with you I think.

Just one question guys. Do we have to carry the extension letter with us everywhere we go to? Or you just keep it home just in case you need it?

Very nice. Congrats! Which service center (first 3 letters of receipt number)?
Thanks. It starts with EAC which is Vermont service center. I didnt check the processing times but do you know how Vermont is?

Adding on to this. Pretty much in the same boat as G2R.
Mailed to Lewisville.
Mailed the package on 2/26. It arrived on 2/28.
So far nothing yet. No check cashed (also a personal check), no message, and no returned package.
Will update when I hear something.
Hi. I have good news. I finally received the text message with receipt number today. I am so relieved. I just checked my bank account and the check is not cashed yet. I am hoping it will be alright for you too. Mine came on the 18th day after they received my application. 18 long days. Anyway, keep us updated if you get any updates.

Okay, I'm hoping you hear something this week.
Thanks. I hope so. This is so nerve breaking.

Did you pay via check or credit card? If so, did they process the payment?
I paid with a personal check which should be fine as I have enough money in the account but they haven't cashed it yet.

My application was rejected for problems processing my credit card... do I just pop it back in a box with a new form of payment or do I re do the full package? Also can I send a check from my wife’s bank account for my petition because I don’t have a checkbook in my name?
Hi. I was just wondering how long did it take for you to get your application back from the day they received it? And did you know it was rejected before you received it. I am asking because my application was delivered 18 days ago and ever since then I didnt hear anything. So I am not sure if they will reject mine too. I have no means of finding out what happened to it as they dont give any information on the phone.

It’s been about a month and half, no NOA, no Bio letter. Filed e-request for non delivery, but of course no way to know if anything is happening. My card expires April 14 and I’m traveling out of the country on April 20th. They really need to get their **** together.
Did they cash your check? Did you get any text messages?

Hi there. Did you get any update on yours?

If you do not get your package back in 30 days or get any response, I would suggest contacting the Lockbox Support at LockboxSupport@uscis.dhs.gov
Here is more information on contacting them:
Thanks, I appreciate it. I will definitely try that if nothing happens by the end of 30 day period. Thanks again.

Probably, they may try to locate your petition. You should be able to get the status of the service request via phone using the reference number. But based on my experience, you may get responses from Tier 1 like "wait for 30 days or 60 days" to get any updates.
Did you include Form G-1145 for e-notification in your package? If for some reason (Early filing/Not signed/Incomplete forms/Payment Issues etc) your package is rejected, it may take upto a month to get it back.
Thanks. I did include the G-1145 form but I did not get any texts or emails.
You are right. Tier 1 officers don't help that much. Would talking to a tier 2 officer help better or would they say the same thing?
I think I did everything right. I even saved copies of what I sent and I dont see any reason why they would send it back. I am still hoping that it will be processed soon.

Does the reference number start with SR and then a bunch of digits and 3 characters at the end: SRxxxxxxxxxxxABC ? If yes, then she gave you the service request reference number, and not your Receipt/Case #. As far as I know, this reference number cannot be tracked directly on the website.
You are probably right. The number she gave me is like T1BxxxxxxxLOD. It is probably a service request ref number. Do you know if that means they will try to find my application? And is that a number I am supposed to use when I call them back or something? Thanks so much for your time.

If your check has not been cashed, there are high chances that it will be returned
If i were in your shoes, i would call USCIS and try to find out more.
Did you perchance submit it outside of 90 day window? A few people have had there applications returned due to this.
Good luck!
Hi there. Thanks. I called them and the lady took my information and gave me reference number. I asked her if I can use that number on the website and she said yes. So after I hang up I went to my account but the reference number she gave me is not accepted. So I guess I gotta call them again.

Hi everyone. I sent my I-751 application with G-1145 form on Feb 19 and it got delivered on Feb 22. Two weeks passed, I haven't received any text message and my check hasn't been cashed. I dont think I did anything wrong for it to be sent back. What should I do? Anyone with a similar experience? Any recommendations?

Thoughts and prayers!! Worst case we can always hire lawyer and refile the case...It's a little costly though but much less stress!!!
Thank you. You have my prayers as well. I am not really planning to hire a lawyer. I hope we will not have to. Is your GC expiration date soon?

I'm in the same boat here. I filed on Feb 18, noticed they have received on Feb 19th in Lewisville and no news ever since....Did you hire any lawyers? We prepared the doc all our own. I heard they usually process files from law firms faster than usual. Not sure if that's real though....
I filed in Lewisville as well. We didn't hire a lawyer either. I am not sure if that would make the process any faster. I saw a lot of posts on this forum by people who prepared their own application and got a super quick response. There might be several other reasons I can think of. I will call them by the end of the week and hope they will actually give me some info. Have you called them?

This is indeed stressful but as others have said, there has to be a reasonable explanation.
Forgive me if these have already been asked...who confirmed that they received your package? Did someone sign for it? I would make 100% sure that the package was indeed delivered to the correct office.
Did you call their 800 375 5283 yet?
Hang in there, we are holding thumbs for you! If your GC expires really soon, start another application compilation as a back up plan.
Hi there. Thank you for checking. I tracked it online on USPS website and it shows the name who signed for it as it was delivered. I haven't called them yet since I read that all they will say is wait for 30 days and then call again. Luckily i sent my application early enough so I have some extra time before my GC expires. I will just have to call them if I dont see anything in a few days I guess.

Hi there. Finally somebody in a similar situation with me. They received mine on Feb 22. Ever since then, I haven't heard anything. I added G1145 form too, but no text message yet. They haven't even cashed my check yet. I'm going crazy like you.

Is only normal to feel that way but we have no idea what goes on in these locations.. Could be busy days, many officers are involved in other things, maybe particular days concentrate one one skydiving thing or another, meetings on Fridays etc. You will get a response. In the meantime (which you probably did it already) and check your submission copy, all signatures in place, payment correct etc. We are all in it together!
Thanks for the encouraging words. I will keep checking and hoping they will not reject my application as I believe everything was done right. It's just annoying when it takes longer than others. It makes you feel like they put your file on the shelf and forgot about it.

Hi all. I just received the text message "new card being produced". Filed in March 2019 and EAC center. Good luck to everyone.
