Hello all. We got DQ on October 18th then they requested additional proof of assets and employment which I submitted October 23. Hoe long does it take NVC to accept/review the documents?  How long is the interview wait in lagos?

    DeeandFelix,

Wait, did you guys actually get the request for the additional proof of assets and employment AFTER you already received DQ?? - like official DQ with the email that all the documents had been accepted?

If so, I wonder about this, did someone else re-review the already DQed documents?! I thought once it is DQed - it is finished and you are just awaiting the interview...

These days NVC has been flying through the cases after the document submission, so I hope they will get to you shortly! If they don't perhaps you can call and ask just in case? So it isn't stuck in some way and that it is indeed fully submitted into the system and there isn't anything else they are waiting for.

    Good luck!

My husband sent an email with some attachments from below.

The attachments are screenshots of the error page.

Actually, my husband called nvc twice. The first operator told us to just wait till CEAC was fixed. Second told us to send an email.

So the answer depends on the operator. But either seemed not to know about website's error.

why don't you call NVC again if you can? If you can't get the different answer from it which you got before, you should send email to NVC.

    Hi Cony,

Thank you! Yes, we have been calling nearly everyday and it was going nowhere, as well as submitted inquiries. Yesterday, finally I got through to a supervisor and she said that I would just have to wait and that it happens, so it was about to continue, but then she looked and saw that some of the documents are reviewed and others are not and she was wondering how come. Supervisor said that she will send and email asking for a supervisor's review. Later that night we got an email stating that the Documents were qualified. I have read before that when in a supervisor's review the application can't be accessible, so now putting all the information I read together I conclude that it was not fully released and got stuck in the revision mode because it was just left as opposed to finished one way or another and this is why I couldn't access it for so many days. I am writing it out mostly for the folks who may encounter that in future. I would suggest to talk to a supervisor and ask for a supervisor review which can solve it alone, but of course the inquiries helped I am sure, and I would do those too.

    Hi,

I think you're in the same situation as us of 1.5 months ago.

In our case, my husband called NVC and complained about the problem as soon as we found the problem. An operator of NVC said "please send us email about the problem and wait till it was fixed".

And we sent email to NVC and just waited while checking CEAC everyday.

In about a week, we could proceed.

    Hi Cony,

Thank you so much for your kind reply!!!🙏 This is relieving to hear, as we found someone online who waited 6 weeks to 4 months until the issue has been resolved. So the fact that they resolved it in one week is encouraging, we have been so far 10 days and have submitted an inquiry online 10 days ago for that through the ceac website. When we call, they just tell us to wait and that they don't know the timelines for the it issues as they are not connected to NVC

Can I ask you please, which email did you use for that? or which link? Perhaps I can try some other way also...

We have been in this process for 15 months now and counting, so getting stuck like that and not moving at all is very daunting.

    Thank you again!!!

    Dear Kani2015,

Thank you so much for your time to read my post and quoting this!!! I appreciate your care🙏

I think (I also hope) that this doesn't pertain to me, because I have had both applications available to pay the fee for and I paid the fees, and DS 261 was approved and I submitted AOS already with the review coming back asking me to resubmit one of my documents at the AOS, it is just that afterwards it got stuck with the application error and has been stuck for 10 days now... So it seems like some other issue.

    Thank you!!!!!!!

  5. Dear NVC buddies,

Has anyone encountered an Application Error on your AOS?

I am stuck in this Error message since the 24th of October - the time when they reviewed my documents and asked to resubmit one document. Already checked from different browsers and computers, submitted queries, calling NVC and not getting much of a reply or information. Meanwhile the case is in "INCOMPLETE", so no one would touch it until it is complete...😭

Has anyone here had any luck escalating their technical issues and getting through? It seems like it is nowhere and will be nowhere until I find a way to get through to the right department, which apparently it is not NVC and is CEAC... with all the maintenance issues going on I doubt that my single case is anything of the priority, if they even know about it...

Would appreciate any advice on what to try here or your experience if this happened to you...

    Thank you!!!

  6. RE: documents submission advice for those who haven't submitted  NVC yet.

Everyone probably knows it, but I thought I did too and yet I overlooked this little detail that now sent be back...

If you are submitting documents to NVC, you need to make sure that they are PDF or jpeg and PDFs should look like scans and not anything that could be clickable inside of PDF or in anyway look like it could be editable, like some PDF forms are.

My bank sent me a letter in PDF via email with my recent balances for the past 6 months, it downloaded fine, but then I got a notice that I need to resubmit because it is "editable". When I took a closer look, I saw that indeed, although sent by my bank in PDF, it was still editable and had the button "clear" on it 🙈. Now I have an application error and cannot resubmit and stuck, so I hope that this could be helpful to someone else to not make my mistake. Even though I have 6 months of detailed statements in the application from my bank for the same bank account, they didn't look at that, so seems like every document you submit has to be just right regardless.

    Best of luck to all!!!

Not sure if this had been asked before but does the nvc email your case number automatically given the information from your I-130 or do you have to call and update that information so that when they generate your case number you can be emailed instead of waiting on regular post?

My NOA2 was approved on the 22 of August and sent out to NVC on the 28th, I called four weeks later and was told that they received the case on the 17th of September, but  have not processed it yet into the system and to just wait. On the 9th of October I called to check and was told to wait, but on the next day I have received and email with my case number (It was probably a coincidence, but still, sounds like anyway it is close to two months these days after the NOA 2 approval). I never received anything in the mail. But as far as email, both me and my husband have received it on the email addresses that we indicated in the I-130 paperwork. Good luck!!!

    I have a major update!!!!!!!!!!!!

Got the Interview Letter today October 24th.

The Embassy needs me November 20th.

    Case Complete October 9th.

Never thought this day will come so soon.

But we're all thankful and looking forward to get this whole process over with once and for all.

To the rest of the family, don't lose the energy! YOUR case will be sorted out soon.

Congratulations!!!!! that is exciting to hear. Sounds like NVC are being active and this is a really cool date on the interview 😀

Hey dear NVC buddies, has anyone here encountered an "application error" when trying to open application? NVC asked me to resubmit the document, but when I try to even open application for Affidavit of Support, it keeps telling me "application error". I have tried all other possible browsers, cleared cache, submitted inquiry on the state.gov site, but nothing and everyday it is the same for four days. When I called NVC they basically said that they don't know and tough luck that it happened to my case, didn't seem like anyone is going to do anything about it, as it is just my application. Has anyone here had that happen and what did you do that helped?  I would so appreciate any help, as it has been 14 months since my NOA1 and I would hate getting stuck at this stage for no good reason. Thank you!!!!!

  8. Dear visa journey folks,

A couple of days ago I have received a review with the request to resubmit one of the documents in the Affidavit of Support Application, but when I try to open the application, it says "Application Error" "You have encountered an application error. Please try again later." I have already tried all the other browsers, cleared cache, submitted an inquiry on the website nvc.state.gov/inquiry, but to no avail. When I call NVC, they seem to have no idea about the issue and there is no action to fix it. In the posts from 2015 that I found someone said the NVC rep they got in a contact with said it will take 6 weeks. Has anyone been able to resolve this issue and what did you do? In particular I am curious if someone was able to get through to the help desk/ NVC in any way that helped.

I would really appreciate your help in this, as I am freaking out .........

As for my opinion the ceac online submission website is well organized and you won't get lost on what's to upload etc. Not unless they changed it during their maintenance.

Thank you, it was indeed organized well, once I was able to log in and see what they needed for each section.

That's what we're hoping for too (we're stuck until we can upload docs) but I'm worried that everyone waiting to upload docs during the outage will upload all at once and their wait times will get even worse!

I was worried about that also, and when uploading documents the system kept kicking me out some times more than other - within seconds, but all in all I was able to upload all the documents... Hope you did also!

  10. Hi fellow NVC filers. As I am waiting for the NVC to come back online, I started wondering about whether I need to submit some of the similar documents to the Affidavit I864 and DS-260 in the Supporting Documents section. For example both I-864 and the Ds-260 ask for the marriage certificate, and because I am using the income of my spouse that will continue in the US to help the household income, both applications would seem to need the letter of employment continuing... Have you submitted the same documentation twice under two separate sections or just once time under one of them? My logic is that someone looks it one time and I already have so many documents, that I would hate to overwhelm them with one more copy, or do you think this is necessary?

Searching but can't find a post on this...

I would appreciate to learn what you did.

Another thought that is on my mind as a hope for this long maintenance period when submitting documents is impossible... - I hope that since NVC seems to be sending out DQs, that although for those who hasn't submitted documents the 4-6 weeks timer hasn't kicked in yet, but perhaps it will shrink the time of the wait, since NVC will have time to catch up and process the cases already submitted. Unless of course they also take a little break right now and taking it easy...

I feel this so much! I feel like I've literally put my "real life" in the U.S. on hold to live with my husband overseas. I am glad we can be together so I am thankful for that but at the same time...love is NOT ALL YOU NEED, Beatles, haha. I am a September filer too and when we applied I felt like we were going to hear back so soon...and nothing...and nothing more to come for a good while. I feel your pain, truly.

Hi literallyrachel, I am wondering, did you have to send in anything for proving domicile being in US since you are living abroad? I live abroad with my spouse and my address is abroad also during this process. i am starting to wonder if at the time of my case being processed they then would tell me they need some sort of proof that the domicile is in USA. I am thinking perhaps to send something ahead of time for that, so not to delay, but not sure it is necessary and what to send.
Perhaps you or other folks are familiar with this??? Would appreciate any help!!!!!!!!!!!
