If I remember correctly when my husband applied for a visitors visa (prior to us meeting I just saw the copy of the application) there was a box to check for marital status that gave the options of Single, married, divorced or common law marriage. He selected common law as he was with his children’s mother for some years at the time and that’s common in Jamaica as well. Because he only selected common law he was able to get a visa but they asked a lot of questions related to his ex and their relationship. If she had that option and selected married anyway maybe that is what is hurting your case.

Has anyone else had an issue with the USCIS Case Status online not updating? According to the website our K1 is still only received, even though the visa has been issued at this point. Just curious if the website isn't reliable or if it's an exception for our visa.
My fiancé is here and my case never updated after being received last year

Hi,
so I received my K1 visa and am planning to fly to the US soon. My question is .. has anyone had a court marriage done in Texas? The website I was looking at states that both applicants need to have a valid US ID and SSN number .. has anyone done a court marriage and encountered any issues while doing so?
hope to hear from you guys
I live in Houston and my fiancé came a few months ago. We went to the Social Security Office about a week after he got here. You will need the I-94, birth certificate, and passport with Visa in it. They told him they needed to verify something in the system and we would get a letter in the mail. The Social Security card came about 2 weeks later. Then we used his SSN and passport to get the marriage license. Hope this helps

You do not need a social security number to enroll the children in school ( I did not know this prior into enrolling my step children). My step kids had only been here 2 weeks when I enrolled them and we were not yet married. I had to use my information for both children and sign a paper certifying they lived with me but he is listed as the primary contact etc. I also had to take my utility bill in my name or lease showing I lived at the address. You will also need their shot records. I used the shot record from the embassy and that was fine. It literally took 10 min. I did not have the last report cards and just reported that she should be in 2nd grade and the said that was fine as well just try to get it and if that is not possible they may test her for placement but they didn’t.

Thanks. So the ones online are fine? I don't have to get it mailed from the IRS?
How many years worth?
Yes. I used the transcript printed from online and only submitted one year and it was accepted

It usually depends on if he supports someone else like does he have children he supports or pays child support for. If he does and they live with the mom he would fill out their information and check partially dependent etc.

So today I finally got the case number. My question is can my fiance pay the K1 visa fee with his credit card from overseas or will I need to pay this myself at a NCB bank. He's asking if the transaction is an overseas transaction because it's not set up to make transaction out of his country. But I really don't know the answer to that question.
Yes, I used my credit card to make the visa payment online. I just got an email from my bank asking if I made the charge but it still went through without any problem

Hello everyone,
My fiancee and I are trying to plan our living arrangements for when I finally make the move out to the US (California specifically) on a K1 Visa, and I'm looking for some ideas as to what we could consider giving our situation.
A little backstory, my fiancee resides with her parents, and that household is full so I will not be able to move in there. I am continually saving money, and I am basing my savings on the theoretical scenario that I don't find a job for a year, even though I know that shouldn't be the case, at the very least it will give us a safety net. Between us, we could afford about 2,200 a month in living expenses, but that doesn't leave us much wiggle room either, and I won't be much help in the application process for renting.
I've looked at possibly subletting through Airbnb for a while, but it only goes for 6 months. I've looked at the possibility of buying an RV and renting space on a campground or something, but that would cost just as much as renting an apartment per month, and that's factoring out the cost of the RV. We've looked at Arizona as a potential destination, as well, as California's cost of living is really high, but it comes back to renting again, and I don't want to make her rent somewhere unsafe just because it's cheaper.
So I'm at a road where I'm running slim on ideas. Not sure if anyone can even offer up any new ideas or advice, but it's worth a shot.
Also, as a side note, I know it's not related to this forum, but I've read a lot about the CR1 Visa being an option for engaged couples if they just get married, but aside from researching it myself, does anyone have any experience with trying to provide evidence required for the CR1 even though you don't have a joint ANYTHING yet with your partner? How does that work, exactly?
Anyways, thanks for any and all responses in advance.

There’s always Texas😁

Thank you. Not sure how to answer this question on the Visa application form. Do you have documentation to establish that you have received vaccinations in accordance with U.S. law?
I think we just put no since they will review it at the medical anyway.

My Fiance recently received an email that our application was send to Kingston, Jamaica but when he tried to open the file with instructions it was corrupted. Today he call NVC and they advise him that I just need to go fill out the application online. But I honestly don't have a clue where to start. (1) should I get my police record and do the medical exam before applying online for the interview? (2) What document do I need from the embassy when applying for the police record and getting the medical exam done? (3) My fiance say I can use my phone to do the application online but I don't have a printer to download and print the confirmation letter. Can I get a travel agent to assist me? (4) Where do I pay the Visa application fee? (5) Do I need to get any document to confirm am not married? Someone please tell me what to do because am so confused.
1.)Go request police record and certificate of no impediment(shows you aren’t married and you obtain this at the registrar general). You will need both for the interview and they can take a few weeks to come in unless you pay extra to expedite them
2.) You don’t need any document from the embassy to request your police record. The medical appointment is given only after you’ve scheduled the interview. Fill out the DS-160 at the ceac site than go to https://ais.usvisa-info.com/ and create an account to pay fees and schedule the interview. Once interview is scheduled go to http://andrewsmemorialhospital.com/ to schedule medical. Go to Menu-Our Services-US Medical. They will ask for interview date in order to complete the registration and they will email you back with the medical date.
3.) At the end of the DS-160 application it will give you the option to email the confirmation
Page to an email address. Email it to yourself and you can print it from the Internet cafe.
4.)Answered under 2
5.) Answered under 1
Take the following items to the interview:
1.)original birth certificate (must come from the RGD on security paper if born in Jamaica)
copy of birth certificate(may need to be resized to include the full page)
2.) Police certificate
3.) certificate of no impediment
3.) court records if you have been convicted of a crime if applicable
4.) Military records of applicable
4.) I-134 affidavit of support along with supporting documents (petitioners tax transcripts, W-2s and paycheck stubs
6 (2x2) passport photos (4 for medical 2 for interview
7.) Interview confirmation page
good luck!

My husbands visa was issued on June 27 at the embassy in Kingston, Jamaica. How many days is the normal wait time in Jamaica to receive your visa?
It took 7 working days for us

Ah, that was quick. That is not going to happen as they sent it to the NVC 17 days after approval. Called NVC today and they don't have the case yet (not really surprised).
Thank you anyway for clarification.
Good luck! Yeah I received NOA2 approval by phone and they said it was approved on March 12th( I called the 13th I believe). I waited 10 days as others have said and started calling. I called 3 times I think. I was expecting for them to give the usual spill about it taking 6 weeks etc but they were like we have your case number do you want it? Absolutely!😂 That was on March 29th

Our case was approved on 4 June 2019 and based on USCIS tracking site sent to NVC on 21 June 2019. When is reasonable to call NVC for the first time to verify that they got our case (and/or got our case number)?
Thank you.
It took 17 days to get my case number I called Day 10, 14 and the third time I called they gave me the case number

Hello!
Regarding social media identifiers question. What name should I put exactly, the one I use to login (mostly email) or the one which appears on my profile page?
Also, I had MySpace account and google plus account, but I rarely use both, and I don't remember user name, and I can't login to either sites because apparently they are no longer on the Internet, should I include those two accounts or not?
Also regarding personal phone number, I have used one number in 2014 and stopped using it, and my current number I have been using since the end of 2014, should I include both numbers?
I don't know who has my previous number now, I'm thinking it's risky to provide it, especially that i'm not the one who's been using it since 2014!
MySpace still exists actually still log on for old pictures🤦🏾♀️ It may show up on a google search

Okay thank you so very much
You’re welcome! The packet is just an email that gives you the information I just gave you😃. You will probably receive the email somewhere around 2 weeks after the embassy receives your packet from the NVC

So which one do I submit first the Affidavit of Support or the ds-160?
Ds-160 is first, then pay visa fees, then schedule interview, then medical exam. Affidavit of support and supporting documentation is taken with you to the interview.

I need some feed back on what's next. So my petition is stating ready on the ceac site which was posted on 6/12. Can someone please let me know what that means? And what should my next step be to get the interview scheduled? Do I send the D160?
Please let me know
Thanks for any feedback
Fill out DS-160 save a copy of confirmation page and send it to email. Go to https://ais.usvisa-info.com/ to create an account. Pay visa fees and schedule interview. Once interview is scheduled go to https://www.andrewsmemorialhospital.com/ to schedule medical(you put information in the form and submit and they will contact you with the medical date. You will need:
1.) a total of 6 passport photos (4 for medical, 2 for interview)
2.) Certificate of non impediment
3.) Police certificate
4.) Original and copy of beneficiary’s birth certificate
5.) Passport( beneficiary)
6.) interview appointment letter and copy of ds-160 confirmation with barcode
7.) Any additional proof of relationship (they may not ask for it but better safe then sorry)
8.) I-134 affidavit of support
My Fiancé just had an interview last week and was approved and visa issued. They required 1 yr of tax transcripts (2018), 2018 W-2, 3 paycheck stubs( I get paid every 2 weeks so a month and a half worth.) I didn’t have a letter from my employer but I did have a print out of my job title, and how long I’ve been with the company. Good luck to you!

I just received a request for evidence. They are asking for photos of us together (which I have), a personal statement from me including supporting evidence (what evidence can I use for this?), two affidavits from those who personally know we were together. We are working on the two affidavits. I will do a personal statement, but I don't know what evidence they mean for this considering I have the photos for evidence. They received my passport stamps to and from the Philippines as well as my E-ticket and itinerary to and from. They returned my scrapbook of photos, receipts, and ticket stubs so that is why they are ask in ng for additional evidence plus the personal statement and affidavits. I photocopied the photos 9 per page, 5 pages total. The 5th page has copies of the ticket stubs. I left enough space to sign our names, dates, and location, as the RFE specifically asks for. My questions are: 1. Will the way I set up the photos be good enough? 2. Are the photos enough for the supporting evidence to my personal statement? Thank you.
Did you guys meet within the last 2 years? What year did you travel to meet your fiancé?

Okay so I just finished Ds160 for my Jamaica fiance child. I completed my fiance 2 weeks ago. So I'm ready to pay fees. My case shows ready. But when I go into http://NVC.state.gov/k1 to pay fees, it pushes me back to fill out ds160....ugh.
You have to go tohttps://ais.usvisa-info.com/ and create an account to pay fees and schedule the interview. If you are bringing a K2 it will allow you to group them under a family group so that the interview and fees can be paid together. Once interview is scheduled go to http://andrewsmemorialhospital.com/ to schedule medical. Go to Menu-Our Services-US Medical. They will ask for interview date in order to complete the registration and they will email you back with the medical date

How soon was the interview, was it months or weeks away?
Filled out ds-160 on May 10th and earliest interview date was 6/7 with medical on 5/24 There was a computer glitch so they had to cancel the interview and reschedule for the 6/11. Another couple completed their forms about a week and a half closer to 2 weeks after me and had an appt scheduled 6/7. There were a lot of June dates available on the calendar as of 6/6. It changes as people cancel but you only get 3 reschedules without penalty

It took 2 weeks for us to get a date

Yes my doc rounds at the hospital and was my attending physician. I sent the discharge papers with the diagnosis etc. and I went to my follow up appointment a week later and got a letter stating the requested info from my doc.
