I think you deserve a medal for the amount of time you have waited lol Congratulations and I hope the rest of your journey goes very smoothly
lol
but sure he deserves a big congratulations

It may appear minor but is it? First post there appeared only one error on the G-325A...further down there appeared to be more on the I-130. We dont really know how many corrections need doing. If the G-325A is as what many prior posts have stated, really not important, then one would think making corrections to that over the phone, as was said could be done with the I-130, seems to contradict that. I have always been of the belief that the G-325A is very important as it is what is sent out to the various departments for any security checks and/or field investigations. Why not correct any error early in the piece on any documents, when it can be done, as opposed to waiting till the petition process is complete and at Embassy.

Howdy... sorry for my lack of clarity above. The mistake that I made was in the attachment to the G325-A (those addresses in the Philippines are way too long for the forms). I accidentally overstated the length of her last address abroad by two months. However, where it asks you to list all the places you've lived for the last 5 years, I put it right. So I wanted to make sure I correct this so it's clear to them what's what and where she actually was for those two months.
There are no mistakes in my I-130. What I was trying to say was that when I called the hotline, that's the only thing that she told me she could correct. She said that she couldn't correct the G-325A information. Hope this helps clear the discussion up a bit
Thanks for all your help. ttyl,
mich
even i had same prob i didnt put my med school adreess coz it was my permanent address but i think i had no prob my g-325a form was accepted because my permanent address was my home address
but in form ds-230 i am going to write all addresses where i was staying despite their will be more confusion i am going to put all temporaray addresses too
can i ask 1 thing what is an Rfe ?

Here's the really ridiculous story, it's about messing up a name:
When I filled out my G-325A, I put say "Mark" as my dad's first name because "Mark" is what everybody has been calling him for all his life. He even has insurances in this name etc. Then, after sending off the form, it hit me that "Mark" is in fact his middle name, but is still the name he goes by. I wouldn't have freaked out about it but on my birth certificate (where of course both parents' names are listed), it says say "John Mark", indicating that "Mark" is his middle name, not first.
Could this be a problem? What should I do about it? Trying to notify CSC? Waiting for NVC or even the embassy? Or is it not important? How should I go about?
if your dad isnt the petitioner then if they ask you can always explain them that in the interview
if you have proofs etc to show that his name is mark then you can infact go by that
but if you think he may immigrate later on or stuffs then you should rather get this change done
its not a big issue for you i had same kind of prob with little change so i had taken advice by lawyer
she said
"it wont matter at all if my father doesnt want to immigrate and if they ask in interview just explain it thats all"
hope this helps you

We are a little confused becoz last week we just responded to the USCIS's mail that we received asking us to fax them my hubby's copy of Naturalization cert plus the cover letter entitled I130 upgrade request since we wanted our I130 be upgraded. we were touched (faxed the papers on March 20)the next day and just today, we received the email. we are confused if this notice is for the approval of our case or just the approval for our I130 request for update???

Hi all,
We filed in mid feb for the IR1/CR1. I just went to the USCIS Vermont website which was just updated (Mar 15th) and was miserably dissapointed when the I130 date hasn't even moved a day from Mar 12 2006!! what is going on?!
K1 visas seems to be processed fairly quickly and while i am happy for them, its really unfair that the spouses have to be apart so so much longer
Do we go on a different production line and that production line is broke??? cos it don't seem to be getting anywhere!!!
I have filed for my K3 (more out of necessity to get to my hubby asap) so there is some hope at the end of the tunnel as that seems to be moving. But my preference was definately for the IR1. Just seems that they are preferring to collect the extra $$ for the next step and that seems kinda underhanded.
Anyone who filed in Feb for the I 130 for vermont with good news?
Sorry for the rant. Just had to vent a little
grrrrr
you have still time for i-130 to get accepted but yes k-3 moves very fast but yes again its true may be they want to make extra dollars
my NOA2 approval took exactly 5 months. there weren't any touches in between and then out of nowhere i got email notification. although it's not easy you just have to be patient, some people who filed before me are still waiting.JK
hello jediknight
your and mine petition is moving at approx same speed keep in touch
regards ,
mala

VSC is not processing I-130's as fast as they were at the end of 2005 where it was not unusual to see 30-60 day approvals. Things change and it doesn't necessarily mean they are backlogged, they are possibly right now giving priorty to other petition types. It will swing around again...it usually does. If you received a notice stating 30-60 days then that has definately been ammended to a longer time frame as can be seen by the processing dates. Those dates that you say where approvals should of been granted already, are a guideline and at any time that can change. VSC is only now processing I-130's with receipt dates of December 03 which is what you should go by....not the notices that have said 30-60 days.
I know it is frustrating waiting and I hope you hear something soon.
yes its true but so frustating
well for time being same people who filed with my timings from csc have got their inteview dates in april end and coz of vsc delay i am stil at nvc stage
If anyone has problem with VERMONT SERVICE CENTER about processing I-130 Cases. Please do the following three things-
Please call your state senators and Congressman for help. Please describe your situation and how this center mishandling your case.
-
Please call Dept. of Homeland Security at 202-282-8000 and ask them to transfer to Office of Inspector General. Make a formal complaint about mishandling I-130 cases for US Citizen and Residents.
-
Please call WASHINGTON POST at 202-334-7572 and talk to PAM CONSTABLE. She is a immigration reporter for Washington post and she will write an atricle about this cases. Please get as many people you can find in this same situation.
does this really help in any case so many have done it already got no use ??

Looking at people's timelines it seems like lately NVC is taking 2-3 weeks from the moment they have the DS-230 until they complete the case. A few months ago it was 1-2 months so this is good news
.
Did you guys notice this too or is it just wishful thinking on my part?
hey bearclaw
the time varies
for my case is at nvc and still they havent passed out the i-864 bill yet we are waiting
The time we are referring to is after NVC has all the documents (the very last stage before case complete), a few steps after the one your case is at. But a few weeks shaved off that time helps you too since you're going to be at that stage in a month or two. Good luck!
yeah i got it thx n good luck to you
-
I just called the NVC and they have completed my case. The guy told me that it will take about 2 weeks to mail it as it has to go through customs and then Indian embassy will receive it..
Any ideas, on when do you guys think I will get the interview?
*thank you GOD*
congratulations rimash
hope mine gets over too soon

I think that my fiance (then husband
) should be able to take a quick trip to Canada shortly after he arrives in the USA and activates his CR-1 visa (gets his temporary greencard in his passport) but before the final Green Card arrives in the mail. But does anyone have any actual experience with this? Or know where USCIS/immigration officially states this?
Thanks!
he can but dont prolong the stay much he has too explainhis prexent stay later on

Dear friends,
Probably this is a silly a question, but it's really confusing me. WHY SHOULD WE FILL OUT 4 PAGES OF G-325A ALTHOUGH THERE ARE EXACTLY THE SAME INFORMATION IN ALL OF THEM??? I mean, filling out one of those 4 pages is enough I thought. Acording to this very helpful website, I knew that I have to fill out the 4 of them, but I need to know WHY Plzzzzz
Thanks in advance ladies and gentelmen,
Sarassine
in short
USCIS/DHS/DOS/DOJ says so
and we have to do wha they say

I think she needs to consult that with an immigration lawyer. I know that there is a law for battered women to get their legal papers, but she needs a professional opinion regarding this matter.
yes mononoke i think you r right
i eveen read somewhere sometime that acc to some new law the conditions from green card can be removed as soon the conditional gc holder enters states so no need to wait that long
but i hope someone can enlighten us more

I am sure that Melinda and I are not the only ones going through a "Period of Adjustment" as she has finally made it here to our home in America.
I think it would be helpful for those of us who finally have our spouses here with us, to share the difficulties in adjusting to the new marriage, the language dificulties, understanding each other, how you work through problems and what the benefits are of sticking together and working through all the problems couples go through when they are first re-united in the US.
Melinda and I have already been through many, many times of missunderstanding, dissagreements, anger, pride, being humbled, saying "I'm sorry", admitting fault, compromising, and then always continuing to love each other.
How about you? What are your stories, and how do you work things out? Hopefully all of us are not giving up just because at times it is hard.
We can tell you that working through all those problems and always coming back together and continuing to love each other, is such a blessing and so fulfilling. It is what make the marriage so satisfying and what makes life so wonderful.
Rob and Melinda
hello,
well i still have a long way to united states but i guess i wont have much prob coz my husband is a patient one ( touchwood ) and me an impatient one
me and my husb are culturally and professionally same
i might have only problem in doing all my work myself
coz in my country its very feasibble to keep servants and all but not there in america so that will be my major adjustment issue i guess..
rest adjustment issue til date isnt a prob coz i talk to my husb 3-4 hrs whole day in yahoo messenger so we both never had any issues with ourselves as such though i keep pissing him sumtimes how long i have to wait etc..

my understanding is that the K3 saves the 3 months that the CR1 waits in the NVC. So it would only be 8 months. In BKK, it typically takes "only" 2-3 months to schedule an interview for your spouse. Of course, getting an interview for a tourist visa only takes DAYS... and they almost all get turned down...
Thanks Portlander!
BUT THERE ARE LONG TERM BENEFITS OF I-130 SHE WILL GET G.C DIRECTLY SO NOW LATER ON PISSING OFF OR ADJUSTMENT OF STATUS IN UNITED STATES
ONLY USE OF K-3 IS FASTER REUNION OF SPOUSES
LONG TERM BENEFITS IS OF I-130 FOR SURE

I came about this <a href="http://"http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?act=post&do=new_post&f=116"" target="_blank">link</a> regarding to marriage fraud for the sole purpose of obtaining a Permanent Residence. It states that the Law was the consequence of numerous testimonies from citizens whose spouse left them after obtaining permanent residence status!
This is the reason why it's hard for us to get VISAs for our SO. I don't like it at all. Those citizens who have their spouses left them went and tell Congress so that the next generations won't suffer the same fate. Geezes.
Some people here on this forum who filed legit evidence to show immigration officials that their marriage is genuine gets denied cold in the face because of this law. Why deny those with legit paperworks? This is unacceptable!
EVEN I FEEL THE SAME WAY
THE CITIZENS SHOULDNT COMPLAIN THIS WAY
THE REAL MARRIAGES MAY SUFFER

Hello,
As some of you know im going through the slow process
of the K3 visa...in Japan. I have a question about police certs. I was planning on doing DCF but things got busy and now it not possible. WEll....my wife is from China but has been living in Japan for 10 years.Ive been here 5 years. We were married in Japan.I got her police certs from China and Japan last year around May... so is there an expiration date for when they are valid. I would imagine the ones in China are still valid since she has lived there in 10 years, is this correct?? What about the ones I got in Japan last year?? Any help would be great!!
Another question..medical stuff...she did the medical stuff last year and the date was in MAY...will she need to do these again even if they are sealed?? Any advice...is the k3 medical different from the DCF medical??
thanks again!!!
med certificates valid till 1 year
but for police certif i am bit confused i thought six months someone had told me earlier but since yu dan has told must be correct coz he is senior member and with quite a good knowledge . thanks for upgrading info to others too

You can register online yourself, u just need the receipt number in making a portfolio and the system will just ask you to fill datas. A touch means when the latest updated date on the portfolio section changes without a change on the message.
I didnt know that was possible... I went and made my portfolio on uscis........so touched means they actually looked at it??? I dont know if thats good or bad lol we filed on 010307 there was a touch on 011307 then nada since then... is that normal?????
touch means somebody has seen or opened your case
though it doesnt guarentee any speedy process but yes its totally normal
nothing wrong in it .
