  1. We were approved February 15, 2008. We sent in our application in July.

With all the forms we also included:

    1) a CD of photos from various trips we have spent together and the wedding. Someone has told me that if you include wedding photos, sometimes its important to include a photo of people who actually attended the wedding (ex: mom, dad, bro, sis).

    2) a letter from two of my husband friends (and no they weren't notarized, just signed and dated with their contact info included). Basically saying they've met me on a few trips and had dinner a few times. What a nice person I am . . .

    3) A print out of our Alaska Airlines mileage plan, showing our trips for the past 2 yrs.

That was about it. We didn't have commingled assets, or joint bank accounts. That is also good to show if you have them.

    No RFE or anything.

hi this mail is wonderful buddy

can u tell me that u sent your application in july and it got approved in 8 months

    so long :(

    thanks in advance

  2. Don't worry about This David, he's a new comer, He should have plenty of his own fish to fry. He has the option to just skip the post, and even skip the south asian forums and go get his reading somewhere else. No need to even reply to such individual as people who are always negative or nosy only attract bad vibes, some people take pleasure to annoy other folks, somehow they get a high from it, all we can do is Pray for his sould. May God bless you David.

  6. DELHI CONSULATE INTERVIEW EXPERIENCE

    hi to everyone,

i thought of sharing my interview experience

for all those going thru delhi n other indian consulates need not worry at all if your documents is original n submitted on time 10-15 working days prior to the interview at the vfs office

all the documents required for that particular case will be send to the particular applicant in his/her interview letter

my interview was scheduled at 8 am ist and in indian consultes we are required to submit all documents necessary as written in the particular interview letter for interview 10-15 days prior to interview,

so in a way it is i think pre decided before the interview to grant visa or not,

much of the interview is complete set of paperwork submitted on time which is THOROUGHLY scrutinised prior to interview

so 7.30 am ist i reached the embessay and was let inside around 8 am

we all were made to seated inside after thourough checks

then we were called name wise to different windows

though translators were given i preferred in english

i personally feel its important to communicate in english

then around 8.30 am my name was called and an indian consular officer took interview and asked only one question i cant belive (F) - he was nice indeed !

    a) my date of marriage

after i replied he gave me all my documents originals and other including my mrriage photos , and everything else then with a smile on his face said i will be called soon :)

after 2 hrs of wait i was called by a nice caucsian ( white male ) he too ws very nice he asked

    A) my date of marriage

b)asked to see snaps other than my marriage snaps

    c) whether we both were hindus

he kept typing in his computer

    and yo !!!!!!!!

he says mam ' you are approved

we welcome you to the united states of america

then he maade me took the oath and index finger prints of both index fingers

    then he told

u might wait for your passport to be delivered from vfs office or u might collect it by hand and he gave me a token with my passport number ..

and now i have collected the passport with visa n the brown sealed envelope from the passport office

overall it was a pleasant experience n now a new life journey n a new family (F)

i thank to captain ewoke for his excellent work here , lorelle , mary , rose , khurram , shaheen , riblet , mixchel , tracy , diana ,pinky and everyone else who hve been my frnds sorry if i am not able to mention all names .. though the list is endless ..........

i am with due respect for my mom , family , brother n my sweetttttttttesttttttt darling hubby !

now he is busy setting his home for me

booking new furnitures online and busy shopping for me , though i have already exceeded my shopping limit and the kgs(pounds) :(

    regards,

    Mala

  7. Mala,

No Offense May I ask Do you have a real job? or you just sit on computer all day typing questinos and answers on visa jounrey. Seriously get a life.

What kind of question is that? Whether Mala has a job or not is none of your business. Hopefully moderators are taking note of this poster and ban him/her from vj site.

    thanks ssma

if i am free and done with my exams and going to start my residency soon in usa n in free time i am trying to help people why people like DAVIDVJ are having probs i really dont know .

  8. I never lock my baggage, and every single flight I've taken in the past 4 years my bags have been searched. My fiance (the non USC) has a lock on his luggage and, even when traveling with me- has never has his luggage opened and searched. It wouldn't bother me- except the last time they searched it- they opened my zip lock bags (which had soap, toothpaste, etc) and didn't close them!!! So I had toothpaste ans soap ALL over my (expensive) cashmere sweaters. I was totally p!ssed off.

thanks cassandra and yuibi finally my visa is done now and i got my tickets booked though not a good deal finally but i m still not able to decide with locking of baggages

though not such a great issue but still i am supre loaded with extra baggages too :(

  9. hello to everyone,

i tried posting in off topic and i was really unsure if members were aware of cheaper air tickets n sites from india

so i needed some help any online sites or travel agents or any flights which are reasonable from new delhi to jfk

    thanks n regards,

    mala

    Mala,

Try farechase.yahoo.com or www.kayak.com These sites will find best online rates.

Also try www.Etihad.com It is a new airline. Finding good rate online is too keep looking repeatedly.

    thanks yaar (F)

eithad was great but eileens link was even cheaper my hubby had to chat though

    -mala (F)

  10. I would not recommend using the inbuilt luggage locks as they will have to tear open your backs, if they need to be inspected.

That said, they rarely check your bags coming in to America. Your bags will probably be checked if you need to take a connecting flight domestically.

luckily wont be needing a connecting flight :)

my final destination will be till jfk

    -Mala

so far so good i thought they will be inspecting baggages if needed in jfk

will they be opening baggages in london also ?

    any ideas

    thanks

Hmm. If your traveling via London there is a good chance it will be inspected. They also have the ability to open TSA approved locks rather than breaking them.

    wow

so finally i am not locking them

    :(

  11. Check farecompare.com, I have also booked flights on Makemytrip.com, you can chat with their representative on the website itself and get a quotes for the date you have in mind.

Another aspect people not too many people know about for international flights, check with a travel agent for CONSOLIDATOR tickets, wow i wil be checking with travel agents i was just worrying as my hubby wants to pay for my airtickets via the international credit card i hope i am not charged more with that i heard some good travel agents in connaught place in delhi too , i will update in case i go there mostly they have a certain number of tickets given by the airlines, you can get some cheap deals, specially if it's booked from India, most of the time it's cheaper if you get your tickets from India as you'll be charge in Rupees. Air India had a special from India to Newark, and JFK i am not sure if it's still running. Good luck

now i m stuck with the chatting with makemy trip representive

i really did not find any chat option in their site :(

this means i am dumb while handling computers :crying:
