hello sir/madam,
my family member is awaiting immigration visa and this is the letter he got from china embassy today what is the next step from here?
Dear Applicant, Petitioner, or Agent of record:This office is ready to begin final processing of the immigrant visa applicant(s) named above in this case. Please follow these steps to prepare for the interview:- Once you receive this notice, please visit http://ustraveldocs.com and register a document pick-up location by selecting the “Select Document Delivery Address” option in the Immigrant Visas section of the website. If you have already registered, you do not need to register again. Failure to register prior to your visa interview will result in delay of your visa application.
- Once registered, check the State Department’s visa bulletin (http://travel.state.gov/visa/bulletin/bulletin_1360.html) to see if visas are available for your case based on your visa category and priority date (listed above).
- Once visas are available for your category and priority date (i.e. your priority date becomes current), schedule an appointment for your immigrant visa interview by selecting “Schedule My Appointment” in the Immigrant Visas section ofhttp://ustraveldocs.com. If your visa is not available until next month, then you can only schedule an appointment during or after that month (e.g. a visa that first becomes available according to the April 2013 visa bulletin cannot be scheduled for an interview in March 2013).
Please take note: The Principal Applicant must interview at the same time as or before dependent family members. Dependent family members should not schedule their interviews before the Principal Applicant. If a dependent family member schedules their interview before the Principal Applicant, they will be turned away the day of their interview and told to wait until the Principal Applicant interviews first. -

hi friends,
Hope all is well. My mother has recently gotten her permanent residency and is pursuing to apply for my brother who is 20 years old,
hope someone can guide us what forms to start with ?
thanks a lot
best regards
mala

this is what i get my understanding from y'all posts
i sponsor my mom with I-130 , she gets her Permanent residency then she sponsors my brother ??
so at this point then i donot sponsor my brother and just sponsor my mother (because it will take him longer)
another question please:
do i also fill up the form g-325 with i-130
thanks
sincerely
mala

Okay.... The brother is 19.... The IMPORTANT question is when will he turn 20?
he will be 20 in april next year
i m little confused now so how does this work ?
should i sponsor for my mom and brother both with i-130 and then when my mom gets permanent residency she sponsors him or i do not sponsor him mom automatically does when she gets p.r.?
please help me
-
Start by submitting I-130 for your parents and the whole process for that should take about 6-9months.
Then have your mom file for your brother as soon as she gets her green card cos that will be faster versus you filling for your brother.
some say that i can call him as dependent with my mother is there a way to do that,
or as u adviced that when my mom getting the green card sponsors my brother does she sponsor him for permanent residency or any other visa?
so then i dont sponsor my brother at all??
thanks a bunch

females do not need to register.
Here is their website if you like to verify for yourself.
www.sss.gov
thanks a tonne

You are a female, so you don't need to worry about selective service.
I am a female and got my LPR at 25 years but as u said i shouldnt worry hopefully its fine, otherwise please let me know how can i do that

the 800 number line are not the brightest bunch to talk to!
Schedule an infopass and talk to a human face to face and get your details straight. If that still doesn't prevail, then I would suggest you schedule a consultation appointment with an immigration lawyer... you ask questions for 1 hour, he/she provides answers and you are $200-$250 poorer... but probably in a much better position.
thank you !!
i am scheduling an infopass tomorrow morning itself is better idea
another thing what is selective service registeration? do all naturalisation applicants have to do it?
thanks

thank ya'all
i have been very low, depressed and stressed out lately also unable to function properly
the reason being i have been so much stressed at work that during free times i did nothing more than being lazy and sleeping. myself didnot even bother to take care of documents properly,
but i will now go thru the process of naturalization with my police report of lost green card and photo copy of 10 year green card which is lost and lets see i will definetely update you how it goes
spoke with the uscis helpline number today they said without my green card its totally impossible to naturalize
lets see what happens next

To the O.P.
That sucks. Did they also steal your passport?
To all others:
When I suggest to keep the Green Card at a safe place, that means away from your driver license and your credit card(s).
Away from your driver license because the driver license and your Green Card are most likely your two sole forms of US ID. You do not want to lose both at the same time.
Away from your credit card(s) because that's what thieves want.
I don't know if the thief stole the O.P.'s wallet, but the GC does not belong in the wallet but should be kept separately in a safe place. A save place is where it doesn't get stolen. If it got stolen, it wasn't in a safe place.
thank ya'all for the replies
The passport wasnt in my purse its with me at home. i never carry green card with me, the only reason is since i got a new job and they wanted to check my green card
, that was the only reason but i can not believe i can be so lazy to not transfer it back to my home and keep it in my handbag,
i made a police complaint and he said it should be available in next 7-10 working days
it will be devastating for me to reapply for another green card when the process was almost over, i cannot forgive myself for being so lazy to keep my permanent resident card in my handbag

Congrats Mala, for applying for Citizenship! Nagu plans to apply next month.
Yes, as millimelo said, you can go in early for the biometrics, as soon as you get the notice, any day, even tomorrow! With biometrics, they are accommodating at most offices. You only need to write and request a date change for the interview, not biometrics.
hi Eileen
Unfortunately they denied to do the biometrics before the appointment day.

I have just received my n-400 biometrics application form and I would be unable to attend on the date they have mentioned that is 07/07/2010 ( due to the nature of my work)
Can i just appear in local uscis office and give an early biometrics? or do i have to rechedule with them as they have mentioned in the form
thank you in advance

Hi,
You will need two sponsors. You are the first sponsor, although you have no income you will still fill out an I-864. As you want to use your Husband's income as well he will be what is known as a joint or co-sponsor, he will fill out the I-864A.
thank you very much, is it important that he too has to sponsor them?
-
hello everyone,
I have quick question,
I want to sponsore my mom and for some personal reasons I havent been able to work for last 3 yrs in the US, I was pregnant plus jobless. But me and my spouse have been paying joint tax returns, My question is when I will be sponsoring her, will I be needing a Co-sponsor? because I wasnt working or since we were paying taxes jointly It would be fine,
your help is appreciated,
