  1. We also got an status stating Update: case is ready to be schedule for an interview, we where one of the ones that got an RFE for information we had already submitted in our original application, IRS transcripts, so we just resent and the status changed December 5. We  hadn't checked prior since we took a hand-off approach since we together and that was our primary goal. We can be patient for all else.

  2. Everyone, my fiance is officially in the USA.

Her point of first entry was Atlanta, she almost missed her flight due to the immigration line but overall the process was painless and effortless, beyond the waiting.

Her baggage got lost, but was on the next flight to the final destination, we currently together. Many thanks to everyone who contributed to this thread, it helped us get through it, thank you thank you thank you!

I posted this in the other thread but I copied and pasted here just in case you are not following it.

Hi everyone! I arrived yesterday to NYC after a crazy trip. I flew to Miami for my POE and there was a lot of people in costumes. I had to wait for 3 hours until it was my turn. Once I got to the officer booth he was nice and kind. Didn’t ask questions about us. Just about the flight, if I was happy and things like that. They took me to an office to process the envelope and that took 15 minutes and no interview.

I almost lost my connection flight but I made it just in time (they were closing the gate when I arrive). And in addition to that my bags didn’t make it.

My advice is if you can avoid Miami airport the better. Is really disorganized. After yesterday I read a lot of forums and lot of people went through the same.

I’m not unhappy with how it went, I really don’t care right now because I’m with my fiancé finally but I would had preferred to be different and not be literally running through all the airport.

I hope everything is fine for everyone. We will be requesting the marriage license this week and hopefully get married next week 😃

Congrats, my fiance flies through Atlanta Friday.

We got our visa in hand too! But, why did they keep the original birth certificate? How do you know it wasn’t returned?

During the interview, she forgot to bring it, she had to turn it in later that day at the window. They confirmed they received it, issue got issued with no delay in line with everyone else, but today when she went to pick-up the visa they didn't give it back.

Congrats! Happy you made it in. My fiance will arrive via Atlanta, (she wanted to arrive via Miami since the airline she normally flies connects there) but I insisted on Atlanta since the flight times where better, and from my own experiences, Atlanta being the busiest airport in the world they seem to  have their act together ( I hope this applies for first POE as well). Thanks for sharing!

    Update:

The YATRI e-mail will generate this link https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-AR/niv/users/sign_in, which will automatically take you to the website for Non-Immigrant visas.  Then, when you try to add the details for the applicant, the K1 visa type is not listed and it asks you to email or contact them.  We did.  But, then I remembered, that within the website it IS treated as an immigrant visa.  So, go to this website instead https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-AR/niv/users/sign_in choose your country (Argentina), language, and then choose "Immigrant Visa" and use your existing login (the same one you used to schedule the interview at the embassy), which will then let you schedule a pick up.  We hope that helps!

Thanks so much, we  where  confused until we read this,  I had to book a Wednesday pickup, just to correct your post its:  https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-AR/iv/users/sign_in

They didn't have anything sooner.  She will travel out Wednesday night :) !

Issues with your police certificate not being issued the correct way? Fixed in less that 24 hours.

Don't pay for the whole paper all over again. You start a claim under "Reclamo - Tramitación" and there's an specific queue for this issue.

They even updated the date to the day the certificate is fixed.

Well.. I have my medical interview tomorrow and I'm already nervous in advance.😓

I will continue to post everything here, just in case it's useful to anybody. Anybody going tomorrow as well over here??

    PS:

Did any of you booked the appointment without sending the packet 3 yet?

Thanks and have a good week!

We did, booked on the day we thought it should have gone ready, well enough in advance that we knew it would give the embassy time to send us our P3, and they would have time to review what we submitted.

There official email they sent to us with the P3 instructions :

Tenga a bien encontrar adjunto las instrucciones y la información para solicitar la visa. La sección de visas de inmigrante en Buenos Aires verificará la documentación dentro de los 10/ 15 días hábiles aproximadamente, desde el momento que nos envía las copias. Por favor tenga en cuenta que debemos recibir las copias solicitadas antes de la cita para poder tener su solicitud lista y preparada para el momento de su entrevista

My fiance too!  The only thing that suprised him a little bit at the interview (after reading all of these forums and feeling mostly prepared) was that he was planning on speaking Spanish to feel less nervous but the person interviewing him asked if he spoke English and then directed all of the questions in English so my fiance answered in English.  His English is pretty good and they complimented him on it, so it wasn't really a problem, but I assumed they would have given him a choice to have the interview in English or Spanish.

My fiance was also asked if she spoke English( she said no) , so the interview was in Spanish. They did ask if I spoke Spanish, and I do, so I think it may matter if her answer to that question was no, because it will be questionable on how we can have a relationship and communicate.

    Hola chicos, quick question:

The most current P3 instructions for the divorce decree say:

    8. DIVORCE DECREE of Petitioner and/or applicant: Proof of the termination of any previous marriage must also be submitted. You must present the Divorce Decree issued by the Court and the Marriage entry with the marginal annotation issued by the Civil Registry.

This seems to have been updated recently. Does anyone know if we need to get the marriage certificate (acta de matrimonio) as well or will just the divorce decree be okay?

BTW for us, all they asked for was the divorce degree but they DID WANT to see originals.

    Hello all!

So happy to see so many approvals! Good luck to all! Our interview is tomorrow. Do we have to take copies of the P1 and P3 just in case? Or can we just take the only any originals with us? Just to confirm, the Xrays are not needed at the interview. Correct? Any other tips or info we should know? We need a refresh. Please.

Your probably already there, but I told my fiance to just be honest, bring copies and originals of everything she had  and sincere, that seemed to work(mostly, she forgot her original acta naciemeinto, even though she had it she brought a copy)

I didn't get to talk to her until late last night to debrief, but she overall she had good things to say. Even the person who had denied her tourist visa prior came by, which cased a bit of ohh no moment, but it seemed they where just doing their job. She said everyone was great and treated her well, she felt she was being welcomed into the USA as the treatment and process differed greatly from the tourist visa, got a few well wishes along the way too.

    FYI.

They did place a lot of focus on seeing originals, they wanted to see my original divorce decree, W-2's,acta de nacimeinto, as well as  asked to see new evidence. They returned the photos I submitted during the 1-129 to her during the interview as well. Very well organized overall.

en la entrevista yo le pedi hablar español y me pregunto lo de siempre.

donde nos conocimos? que hace el para vivir? que hago yo? donde vive el? donde trabajaba? y como me comunicaba con el ( idioma).

    eso fue todo por suerte!!!

when I asked NVC about our case, they replied in a letter:

Thank you for your inquiry. We do not have a record of receiving your petition.

It can take at least six weeks for the National Visa Center (NVC) to receive an approved petition from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and enter it in the U.S. Department of State's database system. If it has been less than six weeks since USCIS approved your petition, you don't need to take any action at this point.

I got the same response. I would definitely recommend reading up on the thread @Greenbaum mentioned.  I can vouch first hand that reading and following what it says will make the next month or so easier on you.

As as a reference, I called everyday and everyday they said call back in six weeks, it took them about 19 days total from NVC 2 to my case number.
