Case number received today at Potomac(Damn slowest center but that’s in my city)

    So basically interview waiver determination.

For MSC interview is mandated is it ?

info - the speakers confirmed that I-751 receipt numbers with the prefix MSC are routed for interview scheduling; receipt numbers that do not contain the MSC prefix (e.g., EAC, VSC, LIN, etc.) are routed to the appropriate service center for an interview waiver determination. The speakers also clarified that, if the jointly filed I-751 petition is pending at the time of the N-400 interview, an applicant should bring his or her petitioning spouse to the naturalization interview.

&I don’t see any 751 getting approved since last here this time at Potomac so guess have to prepare for n400 🤣

    Same story as yours

Arrived 10-15 mins late due to issues.

staff was helpful guided to the interview room. Receptionist asked for interview letter and within 2 mins the interviewer called our names. Guided to his room and started with citizen verified information then the applicant. Biometrics and then asked some past information from both. No trick questions and asked what else we have. Took some financials insurance and photos from marriage day. Said all looks good and might approve it by eod. I asked for stamping as we might travel he said only if you have a flight ticket booked so better wait else can come up for emergency request later with flight ticket. As soon I walked out got 2 text saying card ordered and 130 being reviewed. Need to sleep in peace today 😴

    Interview experience:

Our AOS interview today seemed to go well. The officer just asked us questions about how we met, and the general timeline of how things happened. He also asked some random chit chat questions and took some photos from our album and our housing agreement. He didn’t ask to take anything else we brought.

HOWEVER at the end of the interview he asked for passport photos, 1 from the US citizen and 2 from the immigrant. I didn’t see this on our list or have heard of this on other posts here, but he mentioned it was something new that was required? Not sure. Luckily we had some passport photos back in the car and gave those to him.

He didn’t say if we were approved but said it all looked good!

around 5pm today I checked and it said our card is being produced, so we have been approved!! :)

    👍👍👍👍👍

I had my interview last Thursday at the Long Island; NY office. He took our certified copy of marriage certificate, I-94,  copies of birth certificates, copy of our 2018 taxes, copy of our lease, bank statements, health insurance, gym membership, he asked for 6 wedding photos, emails from my parents referring to my spouse and I, he also asked to see passports, original birth certificates... basically everything on the list. They asked me: how we met (they asked this twice), and if I met my spouses parents. They asked my spouse: where I was born, what my parents names were, had she visited England. He approved us on the spot, and our status changed to ‘card was mailed’ yesterday.

Your interview office fairfax ? Oh NY 👍 congrats

I feel you and everyone else , sleepless nights and the worry. But patience is the key. This is a phase but sooner or later it will pass and then we all will have to worry about the next phase 😂. All of us have made it so far so stay strong , have faith in the Almighty and we will laugh on remembering these times someday.👍

Some k1 got lucky to their ssa and they get a ssn before applying aos or before they got married or 2 weeks of arrival in the US they apply for ssn and got approve.. Me and @ThomasNC1988 maybe the unlucky people who didnt get a ssn before our AOS but we got lucky to have our GC on hand .. Because we Received our GC they automatically cancelled/close our EAD/AP. in other hand No EAD approve no ssn but we are good to go to apply one in ssa because of our GC.

    Another update for SSA

one can work with the reciept they give you when you apply for SSN

i m going to show this to the employer tomorrow 👍

Sorry if already asked, how did you guys file your taxes if the foreign spouse doesn't have a SSN yet? I filed mine (married filed jointly) with my spouse's SSN (from her cultural visa which came with a SSN which allowed her to work) but it was rejected by the IRS.

I assume we have to file a W-7 (for an ITIN) with the tax return?

Dunno that much in detail but I haven’t got ssn too so obviously without ssn no job no tax you should wait till ur spouse has ssn new or old  linked to EAD /gc for aos
