Bummer.  Yes, it is very hard to get a hold of them.  It won't let you press "0" to just push through an operator?  If you can't get a hold of them, is there any way for your significant other (if he/she doesn't have symptoms) to try to go to the office personally and explain the situation?  It could be a longshot, but it might be worth a try.

Even if he does not have symptoms he would still have been exposed so it would not be a good idea for him to not be quarantining as well.

Hey! Curious if you decided what to do?  I am in a similar situation. I just started my master's in August (I am the USC) and am still working with my same company, but now just part-time (and am under the income requirement).  I'm thinking of having my parents co-sponsor just in case and bringing the completed forms, so if it is an issue I can present them there (so hopefully won't get a RFE and delay things).  I'm in a nursing program, so same boat of high demand and decent income, but won't finish until May 2021. Also thinking of maybe seeing if my employer would write a letter stating they would have me back as full-time if I would like.

We haven't entirely figured it out yet. The good thing is that I graduate in December and my internship site is interested in having me stay on. If I were you and had someone who would be willing to be a co-sponsor I would definitely do that.

  3. We filed for AOS from the K1 back in March. I am also in my last semester of graduate school. Up until my last semester I was able to also continue working full time, however, my last semester is also my internship and so I have been without a job since the end of August when I started my unpaid internship. We just received notice that our AOS interview has been scheduled. We haven't received our actual notice in the mail yet but I am guessing that it will be sometime in December, which is also when I graduate. When I graduate I will have an advanced degree is a subject that is much in demand right now and do not expect that I will have a hard time in finding a job. My internship site has already expressed interest in having me stay with them when I graduate. My question is- will the fact that I am finishing school have an effect on our interview? Between savings, investment accounts (not including 401K), and equity in my house I have a net worth of low six figures.

I-693 You take this form and the DS-3025 Vaccination Record to a Civil Surgeon (from the USCIS list).  The Civil Surgeon will transcribe the DS-3025 vaccinations to the I-693, then the I-693 will be put in a sealed envelope and given to you to accompany the I-485.   A new medical examination is NOT required, your medical from St. Luke's is valid for ONE year.

We had to do this because my now-husband waive the immunizations at his physical in Juarez. If you did not get all of your vaccinations at your physical before your embassy appointment you will have to follow the above instructions. If you had them done at your physical you do not need to do this. This was my understanding when we filed adjusting from a K1.

The instructions for the i-134 literally and specifically request this info: permanent or temporary. I’ve attached a picture.

Im not overly concerned on this matter. Overall my case is strong. I have good tax returns, plenty of money in savings, good life insurance, good job history, but the simple fact that it’s in the instructions make me want to cross my t’s and dot my i’s.

Honestly I think you will be fine as long as your job history does not show that you are changing jobs every 3 months or have large gaps in between jobs and your income is more than sufficient.

My letter did not say permanent (which they should know would usually be impossible in most circumstances for the reasons I stated) and I was approved without it even being questioned. I think including correspondence where you asked for this would just draw unnecessary attention to it.

    update:

    1. my fiance will be is from South Africa.

    2. i went to my employer and asked again. They refused and said that a copy of my contract was the best they could do. My contract says probationary so I guess that means temporary. I will also submit the email thread as evidence that I've requested this info, but they refuse.

Don't do that. I'm not sure where you got the idea that they have to say "permanent" in their letter. As I stated previously they just need to say your pay rate, that you currently work there, and how long you have worked there. That's it. They obviously would never write a letter like that saying that someone is "permanently" employed by them because if they do have to let that person due to budget cuts or performance issues it would turn into a legal thing.

I'm a teacher. My employer cannot put permanent on my verification of employment letter. It's their policy. What can I do? Should I insist? Do you think it'll matter all that much?

Note: My employer has also provided me a letter that states that before I was a full-time teacher, I was a substitute teacher from 2013-2019. So it shows that I've been with my employer for years.

    Thanks!

It doesn't need to say permanent. Just that you work there at whatever rate of pay and how long that you have worked there.
