The agent started by asking some more details about the timing of the divorce and when I filed the i751. She also asked if I planned on getting divorced when I applied for the green card. I clarified that we got divorced because my ex-wife came out as lesbian and she asked a few follow up questions to understand more about it and why it was not an issue before.
I would say she was just doing her job and trying to probe for any contradictions. However my marriage was bonafide and I never intended to get divorced, so I think made that pretty clear. I didn't bring any additional evidence besides my divorce certificate. I wouldn't worry too much about it, but just be prepared for some potential questions.
I also got a notice today that my interview is being rescheduled. I did mention to the agent that I have an international trip mid November and she noted that in my file. I think they saw that this morning and automatically canceled my original oath date.
Kinda sucks since I think the original date would've been fine for getting an emergency passport, but now at least I don't have to stress about that.
Thank you for the response, this is very helpful. It sounds quite intimidating with that line of questioning, so I definitely make sure to prepare ahead of time.
Good luck with your oath ceremony and travels.

Had my interview today in the Philadelphia FO.
Civics test went fine (agent stopped after asking 6 questions) and she asked some more details about my previous i751 application since I got divorced during that process (the n400 application was on the 5 year basis).
At the end of the interview she gave me the paper saying my application was approved and they would schedule the oath.A few minutes ago my application was updated and I got my oath ceremony scheduled for Oct 29th. I have an international trip two weeks later, so I'll have to look into an emergency passport appointment 😰
Congratulations! You must be so relieved.
I am in the same boat as you, N-400 is on 5 year basis and I got divorced in third year of marriage. I would appreciate further insights into the kind of questions you were asked about the i751 application and your divorce specifically. What proof/evidence did you have to provide for the divorce? Did they question the validity of the marriage?

Hello. I already have my interview scheduled on Oct 17th and was notified in September. However, yesterday afternoon, I received an email stating, there has been an update to your case, log in to take action.
I logged into the account and do not see any further updates. I have checked all the tabs, documents, case history etc. Any idea why I received this email?
Additionally, unfortunately, I was also laid off yesterday as part of a mass layoff. Will this impact my interview/case in anyway?

Filing date exact date thats what helps others
I think any and all information is welcomed here. There is no set template we must follow. Some people are tracking when we filed and are aware. Sorry if my update didn't seem helpful to you. For me, a post with good news gives people hope. Also, I posted all my information in my first post in page one of this thread.
Hello June Filers! I just submitted my application today, 6/6/2024 based on the 5 year rule. I immediately received the biometric reuse notification. Case time currently says 7 months and its been assigned to the NBC service center. Good luck to us all.

Hi everyone. Finally, I just got an update today! My interview is scheduled is Oct 17th at my local field office (Minneapolis). FYI, I submitted early filling in June. My original 5 year mark is Sept 3rd.
- Please can you give me some recommendations for which app/website to use to prepare for the test?
- Any tips on what to expect in the interview (structure, questions)?
- How soon after is the oath ceremony scheduled?
- Worst case scenario - if the interview does not go well, can the decision be disputed?

did your status changed to ready for the interview before you get the new card is issued.
Thank you! I don't think so, because it never got updated after i did my biometrics. It was always stuck at "we received your application on XX Date". After that it changed to "New card is being processed"

So it seems your I-751 removal of condition interview was waived. Is this a sign that the new USCIS policy to waive interviews has started? Hopefully.
Probably! So grateful

Hi Y'all,
I randomly keep checking the case status and on May 16th, I was totally surprised to see the status change to "New card is issued". I was not expecting that. I was so sure I will get an RFE or at least the interview, as most MSC cases do. You can look at my timeline to see how long it all took me, just about 10 months. I received my card on May 23rd. I am sharing this so you don't feel hopeless with waiting. Hit me up if you have any questions and good luck to you all.

I just came out of my interview, conditions removed, baby!
That was a fantastic interview all and all, honestly. couldn't be more impressed with USCIS San Antonio
Congratulations! You must be ecstatic. I would love to ask you a few questions about your divorce waiver, would you mind if I DM'd you?

Wow MSC is moving fast! @E&M2021 did you receive an interview date yet? What exactly does the email say and did you get a letter in the mail as well?
I initially filed in June but they never received the package so then sent it in July, which was received by them on 8th July 2021. So I hope to hear from them soon, although they did send out the 24 month extension letter, so I assumed it will take longer

Hello everyone, I received my 24 month extension letter this week.

Hello!
A little bit of info before i get into my question. I am based in Atlanta, there is a field office here. But when I was drafting my application, the website prompted me to send my application to Phoenix. And my application is at MSC currently. I filed in July and already did my biometrics. Originally came in through CR1 visa.
But as I was reviewing the spreadsheet for ROC filers, I noticed some members who have listed Atlanta as their local office and their application (also CR1) is in SRC. I thought all CR-1 are being sent to MSC? Any insights on this?

Hi all! Have you heard about that USCIS is extending the evidence of status from 18 months to 24 months, mainly to accommodate the increased processing times. Apparently, anyone who filed before Sept 4th will receive a new letter. I haven't gotten mine yet. More info on this link: https://www.uscis.gov/news/alerts/uscis-extends-evidence-of-status-for-conditional-permanent-residents-to-24-months-with-pending-form#:~:text=Starting Sept.,Conditions on Permanent Resident Status.

Salaam Aziz! The process took unnecessarily long and the staff could have been nicer to some people with Language barrier. I am just glad it is done. Whats the processing time for Potomac currently?

If you face issues at the first DDS office then try a different office. An example:
Hello, thanks so much for sharing this thread with me. I was able to renew my ID without any issues. They accepted the I-797 letter and extended my ID for 18 months.

Thanks, I will try.
but it is pretty clear on their site that I-551 stamp or I-797A will be required. Also, agencies here are not well connected so DDS wouldn't know that infopass is not being scheduled currently. Il update this thread with how it goes tomorrow.

Hi everyone,
Back here for advice.
My Green card expires 3rd Sept 2021 and so does my instructional driving permit. I have the 18 month extension letter + valid foreign passport and of course social security number. Having read online, most resources say that the extension letter alone is not enough and you would need the I-551 / I-94 stamp. The same is stated on the DDS Georgia site, I am based in GA. You can refer to this page for more info: https://dds.georgia.gov/list-acceptable-real-id-documents
So now that they are not scheduling infopass appointments, how do I get my DL renewed? Will I not be able to drive or renew it for 20+ months till I get my GC?
Also, how can I post this question outside of this thread, do I need to find another relevant group? How do I create a post?

Hello All, wanted to come here to close the loop. I had my interview today and the oath ceremony scheduled for Nov 25th. This has been a 5 year journey, so feels incredible to finally be at the end of it. My officer was super friendly, almost did not feel like an interview. It was more of an informal chat. I was done in about 25 minutes. With me being divorced, I was expecting more strict questioning, but she did not discuss it at all. I want to thank everyone for their advice and moral support, and wish everyone waiting the best of luck!
