After approval, how long does it take for Vermont to transfer i485 to local office? My vawa got approved on November 2019. 3 months already passed
It should have been transferred to your local office by now. after approval, it is usually being transferred to your local office within 30 days. it is possible you were not notified. some people do get notified while some don't. I for instance, didn't get notified of my file transfer but I received a courtesy letter within the 30 days of receiving my approval letter. I hope this helps.

Hi guys,
Do they request Tax returns at the AOS interview? Just curious.
And also, if I send a form AR-11 to Vermont, will they redirect it to my local field office where my file is?
Thanks!
No they don't. I took mine along with me on the interview day. I offered to give them but the officer said it wasnt needed. However, you need to file I864W form if you haven't and take to interview with you. As for the address change, any update will reflect in all your applications.

Hello...
I have some questions about Vawa, I hope someone can clarify for me.
1) my prima facie expires on March 19th, 2020. Do They send automatically the extension or I should file something for it to be extended?
2) my Work permit Is till May 9,2020, it is under C09 (even though it came after my prima facie, I don’t know why they did it with this category, or it is normal?) When do I need to file for extension? Last time I filed for extension it took almost 10 months to get the card
3) I am in Community college in NYC, I filled out Fafsa, and today I got a letter that I received some scholarship from my college and also TAP grant. Is it safe to accept those awards? Can it be dangerous for my vawa case? I heard that USCIS doesn’t like people using governmental financial aid...
If anyone can help me and reassure or warn me, please, I would really appreciate!
For number 3 - Yes you can accept financial aid as a VAWA petitioner. It is very fine and is not or will affect your case. I did and I am graduating in May for my Masters.

Update-
I recently received my GC with an incorrect name. I have been contacted this morning via email on how to get a new one and the email mentioned I should put "expedite" when sending my I-90. However, I had already filed the I-90 form online and received an update that my former bio metrics will be re-used(the online system is pretty cool.. You can download each updates from your uscis account... ). I am happy they know it was their fault.

No never filed electronically. I’m not sure to be honest, I guess when you get the receipt in the mail you would copy that and send it + GC to whatever service center is listed on the receipt, probably with a short letter explaining the situation, list your A number and receipt number on every page you send them. Seems like Potomac handles I90s, that’s where I sent my expedite request. Perhaps they will send you further instructions with the receipt. But I would call USCIS and ask where to send the GC or start a new topic here on VJ. Don’t want to give you the wrong info.
Thank you so much. Yea i ll wait for them to ask for it.

Hi!
I sent it with the original i90, in the same envelope. So applied by mail not electronically since I was afraid they would loose the GC and claim they never got it.You said you ahd already files online before sending original Gc to them with expedited request right?

I applied online and scanned the Gc. So I dont know when and how to submit the original to them. The online one already gave me my receipt number.

I wrote a short letter with the title “Expedite request due to USCIS error”.
Then listed A number and I90 receipt number.
Then a paragraph no more than ten lines explaining that they had put the wrong year in my date of birth on GC and informing them that I had already filed an I90.
Then I listed the proof included with letter.
Put my address phone number at the bottom and signed it.
I included copies of GC with wrong dob, passport with correct dob, copy of 2 year GC with correct dob, copy of drivers license with correct dob. I circled the mistake and also circled the correct year pointing out what my corrected GC should say.
Put it all in an envelope sent it off to the Potomac address, with expedite request written on the front of the envelope. Two weeks later I got an email saying they approved my request and a week later I had the corrected GC.
Hope that helps!!

Hi, when did you have to send in your green card physically to them? Was it after it was approved or when you received the new one?

@FeDaniela I already submitted the case online with no fee. I was asked to upload my resident card online and proof of legal name which I did. Will they let me know when to return the one with me?

You can correct the spelling of the name on your green card by requesting a correction on an Application to Replace Permanent Resident Card (Form I-90). This involves paying a fee. You may not need to pay a fee if you correct your name during the naturalization process.Apr 8, 2019
Doing that now. I was able to file online. However, will have to return the card to them. I know I ant need the card for anything for now... but I need it with me😂 after waiting so long. The processing times are just crazy.

Yes, because you will choose the option your card has incorrect data because of a Department of Homeland Security error..
OKAY, I just did. I hope they don't take long to reply me... the processing times I'm seeing online is 7-13 months☹️

You don't need to file form I-90 this form only to apply or renew your green Card. This is a typographical error you need to do a E-Request to corrected, after you filled the information you need to sent the Card back and proof of your correct name how it show on your document.
https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/displayTypoForm.do?entryPoint=init&sroPageType=typoError
Where do I send it to? Also do you know how long it takes to receive a new one?

Hi guys, where do I file I-90 form? what office should I send it to? I spoke with a USCIS level 2 officer who advised I fill the form but she wasn't sure where to file it. Does anyone know? My name was wrongly written on my green card.

Thanks dear. I did tell her. She typed it into her system. And spelt it out to make sure it was correct. I don’t want to pay the I-90 fee. Its outrageous 😂
