  1. Wow, I must say that this journey is going quite smooth, but very quick! I have yet to send my fiance the information needed for the interview as I have stuff to copy and get together. I guess I have been a bit laid back regarding this process.:huh:

Anyway, I was wondering if it's possible for the Lagos embassy to schedule interviews before receiving packet 3. I received an email stating that the petition arrived and uploaded in their system and was told an interview has yet to be scheduled and will mail out packet 4 to fiance as soon as a date is scheduled. Who knows, maybe I am just jumping the gun here. I wonder does it mean it will be scheduled after packet 3 is done or will they schedule the interview while my fiance is getting the medicals and police clearance in the process. Has anyone been through this before? In the meanwhile, I should get my rear into gear.

    Thanks for any insight.

  2. I thought it was asking for savings account info only, so I did not fill that section, as I don't have a saving acct., only checking.

I wrote down what I thought was the amount for my assets. I would add what ever I could to make my income/assets higher, better to be safe then sorry. Also, I did have a co-sponsor and he does not have a saving account, he left that blank. What they really wanted was our income tax returns. well I hope this might help some.

Hmmm, I wonder if it matters if I send a copy of my bank slips. Is it different for various African embassies on who wants them? I really don't want to send copies of my bank records if it's truly not necessary. Would just income tax and asset info suffice for the Nigerian embassy?

  3. Ok, now I'm getting really nervous because the time is almost near! I called the NVC a few minutes ago and was told they have sent off my petition to the Embassy July 16th. So the petition was probably there all this while floating in limbo saying "take me, send me off to the embassy please"! It's finally on its way now! Hopefully, the embassy will not give me any red tape on scheduling an interview. whewhoo!

Congrat's , I guess some of us will be anxious now that pur papers have been sent to the proper embassies, i'm excited and nervous too. good luck

    Thanks! :thumbs::dance:

  4. I got my paper notice from NVC today....the funny thing is that when I called them they said that our stuff was sent to Joburg on the 13th, but letter from NVC is dated the 16th and says that within the coming week they'll send our petition to joburg. (i'm just going to act as if they sent the stuff on the 13th, cuz it makes me happier)

I guess at this point it doesn't matter....the petition is moving again! My wonderful fiance will get packet 3 soon and before I know it, he'll be on his way here!!!

That's great Quinn! I got my NVC letter today too and it said the same thing.."it was sent to the embassy on the 16th" but the letter clearly states that they will send petition off to embassy within a week. Yeah, I think I like it being sent off on the 16th better, brings a brighter smile to my day. I just want to get an interview scheduled. I think I will feel better once that's done.

  6. I know. It's totally dishonest and crazy. I tried to have my fiance come up on a visitors visa and they denied him right away even before he could claim his case. He said they just took one look at him, denied him and told him to file for a fiancee visa. I was mortified. He said the person was nice in the process when they told him the option of the fiancee visa. They took the money and they gave him back his passport. Thankfully they didn't stamp DENIED in his visa. I was told that sometimes they stamp something inside their visas which makes it hard for them to use it in the future, probably having to apply for a new one.

  7. Congrats! At least you know you have the approval. Wow. I was anxious to know what the results of you guys interview. Shucks, I was kinda nervous for you and I wasn't even part of the interview process! Anyway, be optimistic and just believe that he will have that Visa in hand in August, or even sooner, with no qualms and ready to come home to mama. I wonder if my fiance should have extra copies with him in case they lose a file or something. That's good that he kept calm. I guess she wanted to trip him up to see if he was really serious about the whole thing. Thanks for sharing your story and I will continue to keep you two in prayer. Stay positive and all will be well.

  8. Alright, just got off the phone with the NVC (and actually spoke to someone nice for a change!) and they received our case yesterday! Course she gave me the standard, "it can take 2-4 weeks to be sent to the embassy', but let's hope that's not the case...

Gratz, USCIS tells me that NVC has it, NVC tells me they don't. So my conclusion is that it in a worm hole, yea that it, wonder how soon before NASA will retrive it. Seriously, I have had no luck getting any thing from either group, I'm glad you made it through, at least I know I'm close.

Your petition is probably in the same place where all the missing socks go when they go into the dryer and never come out again. :jest:

    LOL!

  9. I wish you the best! This is how you post a timeline:

Click on My Controls at the top of your screen

Go to Edit Signature under the personal profile heading on the side of the screen

    and then bingo bango!

Thanks for all the welcomes and suggestions! Can anyone tell me how to post my timeline?

  10. You know, the Lagos embassy is totally ridiculous! I wonder what are they really trying to pull. I know that they may not be up to par on computer equipment, but really! I've heard these type of scenarios happening over and over again. I heard of one person that couldn't pick up their visa because they were missing a piece of evidence. How come they didn't tell them during the interview? Sorry, just had to vent a little there. Anyway, keep a stiff upper lip Kelechi. You will soon see each other and rejoice in happiness together. Eventually, all will be well. I am rooting for you. GO TEAM!

  11. Amen! Get your praise dance on! Congrats!

PRAISE THE LORD!!!!!!! I CHECKED MY EMAIL TODAY AND THERE WA AN APPROVAL NOTICE FOR THE I-130. I AM SO HAPPY MY CASE IS MOVING ALONG. GOD IS SO GOOD. HE IS IN THE BLESSING BUSINESS. THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE TAKEN THE TIME TO PRAY FOR ME AND MY HUSBAND. GOD IS TRULY MOVING ON OUR BEHALF ONLY BECAUSE OF HIS GRACE AND MERCY. CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR US AS WE DO YOU.     ITS TIME TO PUT ON MY SHOUTING SHOES AND PRAISE HIM LIKE NEVER BEFORE
  12. Wow! That is pretty quick. You are blessed. Some people have to wait months to get an interview. I will pray that everything works out in good timing for you.

Our interview was scheduled for July 11th, but yesterday they bumped it up to July 3rd. He hasn't received the binder of evidence that I sent him, so I called the embassy this morning to have them bump it back again. They told me he can go on Monday to schedule his interview for the following week. I'm truly amazed at how fast this moves after the NOA2.
  13. Snoopy dance time!!!:dance: I received the NOA2 on June 18th when I checked my email today! I was so happy. I decided to check my email today after being off the computer for 2 days. My heart was pounding so fast when I saw the CRIS email in my box. I was like, oooooooooooooohhhhhh myyyy Lord! I jumped up from my chair and danced around the house! I thank God for helping me through to this point and I also thank VJ and its members for giving me the advice needed for the process of getting things together for the K1 application. I guess patience is a virtue huh? Well, I hope all you other VJer's get yours real soon. Hang in there! You may be next!

  14. Do the RFE trick. Call the regular USCIS number. Key in that you recieved a RFE(even if you dont have one), you will need to enter your Reciept number so they know what Service Center to direct you to. This will connect you directly to the CSC(your service center). I was touched on May 23 and the website said still pending, the USCIS idiot insisted they were only working on Nov. 2006 petitions, so on 5/25 I did the RFE trick, was connected to CSC were a very friendly person said I was approved May 22. Good luck!!

Hmmmmm, the RFE trick huh. Well I dunno, if push come to shove, I may just try it, that is, if I don't have any uscis activity by end of July.

  15. Hi Everyone here,

Am getting bit sad here coz until now i still havent got my noa2, is there any way i could find a way to check our papers status aside from uscis checking online status? our noa1 was march 2 csc

will be glad to hear any suggestion frm u guys

Hi Mysterious, don't feel sad and don't fret. Just be patient. (Probably easy for me to say huh) . The California service center is slow as molasses and your NOA may be right around the corner. You said that you got your NOA1 March 2nd, join the club. I got my NOA1 in March as well and still waiting...and no recent touches either. Join the club along with many others in the CSC boat. Just don't fret. Everything will be allllllright.
