  1. Hi all. I am just on here to say thanks for your comments and concerns and things. My fiance, if you want to call him that, and I have split because of his dishonesty and suspicion. He said that he received the medical results on Monday and that he failed. He wouldn't tell me what he failed. He kept acting stuck on stupid. He said that's why he didn't go to the interview. He could have went and probably got a blue slip or something to return and have another medical done and gotten a visa. THE IDIOT! No communication, no working it out. He had me in suspense all day long Tuesday. I even took the day off work to hear from him. Here I was thinking that he was at the interview, when all along he didn't go. He didn't call me or text me or email me, NOTHING. He didn't have the guts to call me when he received the medical results ON MONDAY! We could have called the embassy to reschedule or something.

He took my money which was originally meant for the embassy fee and spent it on things while he was in Lagos. He told me he spent it. Ugh! I tried calling him all day long Tuesday and Wednesday only to have the phone ring and ring. I knew he was nearby because one time I called he turned his phone off in the middle of the ringing. I was in a total state of oblivian all day long!! I didn't know what was going on. Was it something I'd done? Surely, not. All I had given him was my understanding, patience, love, and time...and I've sacrificed a lot for him too. He still wouldn't have told me anything if I hadn't perservered on the situation and almost literally had to beg him to tell me what happened.

Finally, I got a hold of him on Wednesday and he was already back in Port Harcourt! He went through all this almost without telling me about anything?! The JERK! (Excuse my language.) I know that he probably felt intimidated to tell me the whole story about his medicals, but to leave Lagos and go back to Port Harcourt without calling me and letting me know anything was toooootally strange. I am glad that I prepared myself with God's covering throughout this process. If it wasn't for God's saving grace in my life, I probably would have flew me and my mob down to Nigeria to beat him in the head. Three whole years have we known each other and it has come down to this. I can't believe how much he's changed since three years?!...and yes there is more than meets the eye between him and I as well that we went through during this journey. The pretences, the lies, the childishness. I will not go into modified detail here though.

What a fool I was. I just kept calling myself that. God loves this fool, God's grace is sufficient and his mercies are new. I guess you live and you learn. NEVER AGAIN, NEVERRRRRR AGAIN!!!! I am glad also that I didn't find this out during married life! WHEW! Thank you JESUS! You've done it again! God has someone better in store for me. I know that all African men are not like this one, but just be careful out there and pray for discernment and perserverance. Have all your ducks in a row. God never fails. Thank you all for everything.

  2. God is truely great!!! He takes care of His own and all we have to do is keep the faith.

I think this is just a sign of better things to come.

Good luck on the interview :)

    I pray so. Thanks!

Congrats  This must have really taked a load off your worry list!

Thank you. Yep, it took it huge load off! So happy!

  3. Yep, I got a text from my guy saying that the documents I sent him for his interview arrived! You guys just don't know how happy I was when I received that text! I was in the midst of praying when I received it. God is so good and he is always on time! At the time where I wanted to do things on my own, God stepped in and handled it.

Thanks to those of you who kept me in your thoughts and prayers. Thanks for the encouragements. I once was stressed and couldn't sleep, now I am too excited to sleep! Wow, can you beat that? May God bless this upcoming interview.

  4. Tell your fiance to go to the Post Office and expect to pay for the package that is probably waiting there. I would fedex or DHL the Affidavit, but if it is not possible, an emailed copy to him and possibly follow=up with a faxed copy to the Embassy would work. Good Luck!

That's what I was thinking about having him do as well, but if push come to shove I will probably have to send the documents via email. I will be doing a lot of emailing.

  5. Yup, Nigerian postal service SUCKS!!!!!!! The affidavit of support has to be an original, I believe. So the only way to accomplish that is to send it via DHL or FEDEX. Your choice. I use fedex. I have not had any problems - except for when I messed up the address once :o

    Good luck!!

If you your fiancee doesn't receive the documents by monday i suggest you fax him the papers including the affidavit of support as long as it shows the notary stamp on it ... My wife sent me the affidavit via email"She scanned and emailed it to me all i did was printed it out and took it to the interview the next morning.

    Good Luck.

    Jamil

Oh my goodness. Really? She scanned the affidavit and sent it via email? I didn't know they would accept it being scanned and sent by email. Did they have any concerns about that? Did you have any problems? The affidavit is my biggest concern. I can always email the other documents, but the affidavit is one of the most important documents they would need. I had to go and and get another notary stamp on some I134 forms today. I was also thinking about having the notary person write a letter stating that they did sign and stamp the form too. Just as long as he has the needed documents for the interview I am fine.

  6. I tracked the package thru USPS website and it is said to be in International dispatch? I called USPS and they said that if it isn't there in 1-5 business days then call back again. I told them that I needed it there by Tuesday of next week. She couldn't help me. I don't know. I called DHL and Fed X. They told me that the cost would be between $101-$109. The time to get there for Fed x would be October 15 and DHL would be on Monday. Firstly, I am not willing to pay $100 to send 3 pages over to Nigeria! It's not worth the money for 3 measly pieces of paper. I would literally kick myself! My fiance kept trying to console me. He is all calm about it and has more faith than I do! I just pray the package is there in Nigeria at the post office and not in the Abyssful sea. :crying: It will be a miracle if the embassy would accept faxed copies of everything and my fiance would go through with flying colors.

I will call the Lagos embassy first thing tommorrow and talk to someone about my dilemma. I wish I knew someone trustful that was going to Nigeria this weekend. I would send it by them. Ah well, wishful thinking. Anyway, thanks for the responses.

  7. well, you could email many of the documents, but for the Affidavit of Support, I know they want a certified original copy. Maybe they would allow you to fax it to them giving the circumstances. I would call the Consulate and explain the situation and offer them proof that you mailed the documents. it can't hurt....

Sounds like a plan. Maybe I will call the embassy too. I already sent an email the Lagos embassy earlier tonight. I wonder would they be able to accept copies of our pictures? I knew I should have followed my first mind and sent the documents via Fed Ex or DHL. It was cheaper through USPS though. Oh well. You live and learn.

  8. My fiance traveled back to Lagos to prepare for his interview next week, but the only thing that is missing is the documents that I sent way back September 18th. Argggggggghhhhhh! Wretched Nigerian postal service! I can't believe it is still not there! I am thinking of sending documents to him via email. Is that possible? Especially with the Affidavit. On the other hand, I still have to have those important documents in his hands because it has all our pictures and my bank and tax statements, employment letters etc... :crying::crying: Oh man! I am earnestly praying that it get there by the end of this week or Monday! I truly don't want to have his interview rescheduled or truncated in any way. Any suggestions?

  9. Offical update...... Im going to go out and dance in the street this mor.....LOL LOL ... Called the DC office and with in less then 1day and a half they recieved, started, and almost completed the investagation.....They told me I would be hearing from the Embassy very soon. Was told that the less time it takes for them to investagate generally means that nothing was found and there was nothing else more to do......That he is a go and can enter the US.....cant explaine what relif Im feeling right now ......I know I need to keep everything in control andnot let myself get to excited........We never know what is around the corner....However I am feeling very good about this.....It went so fast......I cant belive it.......

Woohoo! That is excellent news! Prayer truly changes things.
