  1. Hi All! I got a question. My NVC case status is "AT NVC" Can I pay the visa fee and schedule an interview in advance? My worry is the earliest available interview sched in my country is May 7. I intend to pay the visa fee this week then schedule the interview 6 weeks from now. Would that be fine since probably before the interview, I have already received the packet from our embassy? I just want to secure a slot for May 7-10 2019. Upon research through the US govt. websites, I found out that the visa payment is valid of 1 year and the interview schedule can be rescheduled twice, so I was really wondering I can just pay for the visa and schedule the interview before receiving the packet.

    Timeline:

    -NOA1               : Oct 22, 2018

    -NOA2               : Feb 25, 2019

    -NVCCase num: Mar 20,2019

    **Current Status: AT NVC**

Looking forward to your response. Thank you in advance! :)

No reason to apologise, no reason to be worried. If you mailed it with USPS tracking and that says it arrived, and then the check was cashed, it looks pretty good.

Do let us know if you don’t receive your NOA soon, we’ll see what we can do to help :)

So my fiance finally reached to them and got out case num but we still don’t have the hard copy. Is it really necessary for the interview? here in manila?

Hi. Still no NOA 1 it’s been over a month now. My fiance tried calling but they hang up every 20 mins wait. Is there a more positive or alternate way to actually reach to them?

Please don't compare what is happening to your process to others as every case is different. You'll get a copy soon. If not, pick up the phone and call USCIS for a copy. Ask them to fax it if you want it sooner then mail.

Okay I’ll try not to. I just get worried that It might get lost. I’ll wait patiently before I call them after 30 days. Thank you

I recommend signing up for informed delivery to see what mail is arriving :)

Agreed with Greenbaum. Mine was misplaced sometimes somewhere at the Lock Box for 1.5 month. After 30 days we did not receive NOA1 nor cheque being cashed. I was supposed in August filers, initially, but unfortunately ONLY received our NOA 1 dated 18 October.

    Ours be liked:

    I-129F sent: 8/17/18

    Received at Lock Box: 8/21/18

Called USCIS 1st: 9/21/18 (asked to wait another 2 weeks for them to check)

Called USCIS 2nd: 1st week Oct (with 2nd tier officer, they will resend the receipt)

Cheque being cashed: 2nd week Oct

    Received text message NOA1: 10/20/18

    Received hard copy NOA1: 10/26/18 (NOA 1 dated 10/18/18)

    NOA 2: xx/xx/19 (by VJ timeline 15/4/19)

Our check was cashed last Oct 24. I just find it strange that we haven’t received any hard copy unlike others who files like a week after us already got their hard copies last week

    1. If the check has been cashed by USCIS, then they have accepted your petition and have started processing on it (this takes 6.5 - 7.5 months currently).
    2. They are processing it, if they had already rejected your application you would have received a rejection notice via mail.
    3. I have no idea about this, I don't think that's entirely accurate. Their website states that the USCIS Adjudicator can deny it without asking for more evidence, but for an Alien Fiancé visa I doubt they would do this. I may be wrong, but I think some people have recently posted about a RFE. You wouldn't get an RFE this early anyway, so this is definitely not the issue.

In the mean time, check the details on your application are correct. Check the mailing address you supplied for the USC.

Thank you very much. I do hope we’d get the hard copy soon. Have a nice day!

Give it a few more days to see if you receive the NOA by mail. Sign up for Informed Delivery by usps so you’ll see if you’re expecting any mail.

The fact they cashed the check means it’s all okay. Admittedly, this is a lot longer than normal for receiving the NOA1.

Calling USCIS should not require a case number, just press 0 a bunch of times and you’ll be put through to someone. I think they ask that you give them 31 days from the date the tracking shows it arrived.

Hi. Okay I'll give it a few more days. what do you mean it's okay that they cashed it out? Is it possible that they're processing it or there's still a chance that they'll regret it? I read somewhere that starting Sept 12 2018 they will no longer give out RFEs and can instantly reject or deny an application. Are you familiar with that?
