  1. You may need to notify them of the change of address and your file will transfer to Dc. It is imperative to do so since you moved for work, hopefully permanent.

It may slow down the process a bit as it does with any bit of add/delete to a file.

Once you reach the timeline for N400 filing, you will need to use your DC address.

You can submit your Q&A to the Washington  D.C. sub forum which will be easier.

  2. That's  to anyone guess!

I would suggest, did work for me for I-551 stamp, have your Gc in hand at all times, or at leat your A number on a piece  of paper and just click on the website at various 10 15 minutes intervals   ( Painful but no way around it) midnight  hours  don't  work at times.

Try and you will get an open spot.

Word of caution. If you do not have  your A nbr right there and choose to fiddle with your wallet to find it, kiss your luck goodbye.. Slots disappear  in a nanosecond.

Try every 5 minutes just at 6.00 AM

  3. You can edit your profile by amending  the city and state.

For next day passport, you will need a confirmed reservation in order  to get one. Dont know the exact cost as i am not there yet and not planning to go that route  as i may not leave until mid march due to a scheduled surgery.

If planning  any travel, wait until you receive your oath letter to do so. There is about one month window between notification and ceremony. Plenty of time to do so, albeit, weather.

  4. If you live in Dc, yes. You can check the united states court for the district of columbia and it will give you the 2019 calendar.

However, if you live in northern  Virginia,  the fairfax office on prosperity avenue decides where and when i,e . High school, historic building etc..

If however, there is a name change, the oath is hel every third thursday of the month at the eastern division court house in alexandria.

Where you had your interview, will define your oath, DC or VA

  5. Since you are in DC not virginia, the oath ceremonies are judicial and take place in court.

Given the government shutdown, all federal properties are closed.  And some courts are operational until tomorrow due to some available fundings.

Perhaps the delay is mainly due to that..

You can look up the calendar for  2019 oath ceremonies  in dc. Next, i beleive is february 12, if not mistaken.

  6. I am sorry it's  taking that long. Still their policy is 30 to 90 days aait time as they do use a final set of eyes to cross all the ts and dot the is.

I strongly believe it may happen  soon, just dont despair.

I had to drop my ex spouse name but was still considered administrative  not judicial.

Each case is different in the eyes of uscis.

    Chin up,will be allright!

  8. First, congratulations  on your final journey!  I am scheduled for mine in January  in fairfax.

I believe,  in my opinion, will be better to travel on your US  passport.  DHS screens departures  as well as arrivals.  Remember, you are to give passport  information when booking your ticket unless planning for a split  one.

I am not egyptian but moroccan and customs are a pain. Was told once, "reason of my visit"????. Was entering with moroccan passport, mind you.

It is just a form o bullying  because we can and they ca not.

Just be proud of your newfound  home and dont let them deter you from what they cant have.

All the very best and happy new year.

  9. Your question is a bit confusing but will give you my input on ss benefits.

One you retire in 6 years time, you will get your ss as a us citizen. Will need to apply in the states, not in a foreign country as ss will not mail your benefits overseas. Need to apply in the states, have a bank account or direct depost in a debit card provided by ss.

Survivor benefits  are different, once you pass (no pun intended) your spouse will get survivor enefits  given that you have been  married over ten years.  She doesn't  need to be a us citizen. However will need to apply in the states with a bank account  as they do not mail benefit  overseas.

Nott sure if my comments  answer your question.
