@FrancoBegbie any updates? did you get your oath ceremony scheduled?
Yes, it is happening in 3 weeks.

I recently got approved for both my I-751 and N-400 at my combo interview. The interviewer told me it would be 4 to 6 weeks before I got a letter inviting me to the oath ceremony.
I have read elsewhere that it could take 2 months or longer to get that letter. The only letter I got since the interview was one saying my I-751 was approved and that I wouldn't be
issued a green card because my N-400 was approved as well.
I am planning to travel home next year and if I'm still awaiting an oath ceremony date, am I allowed to travel outside the country? My two-year green card has now expired (including the date on the extension letter),
so I'm guessing just travelling with the I-751 approval letter and no green card might be an issue?

Would the company that's interested in you be willing to provide a letter offering you a job? If they are, you can try requesting an expedite for your EAD.
Yes they might be. I'll have to contact them soon and see what they say.

Being a mechanical engineer or anything else makes no difference to the processing time.
I understand that. We're all in the same boat, regardless of our working backgrounds.

Hi,
So, I have a Bachelor's of Mechanical Engineering from Ireland. I've about 3 years experience under my belt right now. I previously worked in a HVAC design company for a year with a company in Massachusetts, on a J1 Internship Visa. It's how I met my now wife. I returned to Ireland and worked for two years as a Mechanical Design Engineer in a forklift company. It was in a high volume manufacturing environment and I loved it.
So, despite now having my EAD card, a couple of recruiters on LinkedIn have contacted me. I've explained I'm legally married now, my I-90 and K1 visa has expired and I've filed for AOS in August of 2019. Understandably, they can't continue with the job application.
I did get offered a job interview and it went very well. They are interested in me and they want me to reconnected when I have either my EAD or Greencard. I'm assuming the EAD will arrive first. However, I did pitch to them I'd work for no pay just to keep my experience up. They declined the offer.
My main question is can I apply for internships or jobs with no pay until I receive my EAD card? Another person also suggested working on engineering project that are posted for money on online. I'd be working as a third party consultant.
Any thoughts on this? Also, if any of you are mechanical engineers how long did it take to get employment?

Two things. You should be getting married because both of you want to, not because it sounds like a good idea to his mother. Also, an international marriage shouldn’t be used as a reason to “escape” to a better life. Are you in love with him or the idea of a new life in America?
Have you been treated for your depression? You might want to look at the medical requirements. A history of depression could require an evaluation that you are no danger to yourself or others.

I have depression and was diagnosed with social anxiety in the past and it was noted on my medical form for the US Embassy. Currently on medication for the depression as well. I had no issues with USCIS but I would imagine it is a case by case basis. I defiantly agree with JFH that you should marry each other because you want to and love each other. Otherwise, you might run the risk of immigration fraud.

Okay, good. If it's been sent back, they should have a response. It's just waiting for the SSA to process it.
Called USCIS yesterday and they told me my Social Security Card won't be released until I get my EAD card. Looks like the wait time is 7 months as I applied for the new card in July, and according to my timeline my EAD with be approved in February of 2020.

There's not a "hold" really....it sounds like your case has to go through manual verification. You can check the SAVE case status here: https://www.uscis.gov/save/casecheck
Did you change your name since entering the US? What's your current status in the US and when does it expire?
SAVE told me the case has been send to SSA Headquarters in Maryland.

No I haven't changed my name. K1 visa is due to expire in October.

Hi,
So I applied for my replacement Social Security Card. I previously had a Social Number and Card from my previous J1 Visa, however I lost that card. I applied for a new card at the Social Security office. I was initially told it would take one month. I returned to the office after the first month to be told that the information on my I-94 doesn't match the information with Social Security. I contacted USCIS and they told me their was no immigration hold on my card and their was no issue with my I-94. Eventually, it became a blame game between Social Security and USCIS. I returned a second time to Social Security after the first month and they told me I'd done all on my part and that they are waiting on immigration to SAVE verify me. They said that immigration have been dragging their feet as of late. They told me to return in two weeks if I hadn't received it in the mail by then. I returned to the Social office to the same response, their is still an immigration hold on my card. It's now been six weeks and still no card.
Has anyone else had a similar experience? I've filed for my AOS, so do I have to wait for that to clear before I get my new card?
Any help on this would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

Is the EVL current?
Does it state what you are predicted to earn in 2019?
Have you used that amount on your I864?
If yes, you should submit an EVL with 6 months current paystubs.
If no, you dont need an EVL or paystubs.
Or have you used your tax income in Part 6 Question 7?
If yes, then that's all you need (your 2018 Return Transcript).
Bank letter will need to be current for the previous year.
Did you have to use assets to meet the poverty guidelines on your I864?
If not, you dont need a bank letter.
If yes, it needs to be current.
We had gotten an EVL for the I-131 for the embassy in Dublin but they didn't need them.
I have six months of paychecks and the last three years of tax returns. So they are dated April and I printed my pay stubs from February to August.
I make more than the poverty line I didn't know if I needed a recent dated letter.
EVL shows current salary.

I think that should be fine, if you include recent paystubes that indicate you are still employed there.
That's what I thought. Thanks for that.

Hi,
We are preparing our AOS paperwork now. I just have a quick question. They never took my employment letters for his interview in Dublin. Can I still submit the same one if they have never saw the first ones I got in preparation? They are dated April but nothing has changed (since I am salary).
I also got all the letters from the bank but they never looked at those either.
Thank you in advance!!!

Hi,
I have a quick query about filing this form with the AOS package. I completed all of my required vaccinations outside the U.S. and I have the original DS-3025. On the form instructions it states to fill out parts 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and 9. Do I need a civil surgeon to complete parts 4 to 9 or can I submit the form with parts 1 and 2 filled with the DS-3025 attached?

Hi,
I will be filing my I-131 form soon and I know that they only allow you to travel under certain circumstances , i.e death of a family member or urgent reasons.
My fiancée and I are having our wedding ceremony in Ireland next year, and I was wondering is that a valid reason for them to accept my I-131?

The I-129f is not gong to influence the requirements of your local embassy. Produce what they are looking for and you should have no problems.
You were correct. It wasn't even questioned in my interview and I was approved with no major hiccups. Thanks for the info, it was much appreciated.

Hi,
I have just recently received my packet from the consulate in Ireland and they are requesting the following be on the police cert:
1. Your name exactly as it appears on your birth cert.
2. Any middle names you have
My birth cert contains my forename and surname as does my police cert and my passport.
However, I have used my fore, middle and surname on the I-129F when my fiancée filed it.
I'm wondering will this be an issue with the consulate?
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

None needed.
Where did you hear one was needed?
I saw it on the USCIS website I think. That's one less thing to do so. Thanks!

Hi,
I have seen conflicting accounts that a police certificate from the US is not required as the immigration authorites will automatically conduct a background check on applicants. If so do I need to get one?
I lived in the US for a year so I am assuming that one is needed? I already have obtained one from the Irish authorities.
Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

My girlfriend and I are thinking of having our friends officiate our wedding. I know you can be easily ordained in MA and you need to apply for a one day designation certificate, which is also easy to get.
My question is would the immigration authorities allow this and recognise it as a legal marriage ceremony? Or do we have to marry in city hall for it to be a legally binding marriage?
Can I travel before my oath ceremony date?

I already got my ADIT stamp as I needed it for work for an I-9. My oath ceremony is in 3 weeks and I will apply with a US passport right away. Given the current wait times for a passport, it may not arrive before I leave but I will travel on my Irish one instead.
