Yes there's no REnewal/EXtension filing fee on a pending Adjustment.

But your Advanced Parole is not a Renewal @ this point but seen a new Request.

My nephew had similar challenge & was advised by his lawyer he needed to pay the fee so he didn't file for the AP.

I can confirm I didn't have to pay a renewal AP fee and they accepted my filing based on Pending Adjustment of Status.

With no interview on the horizon (NYC field office), I filed for a first EAD & AP renewal.

Filing date: Aug 11th, 176 days before the combo card expiration.

Acceptance text message: Aug 23rd. "Your case was received. Receipt #IOExxx. Official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) to follow in mail." (two messages)

Biometrics reuse & Account Acceptance Notice: arriving in mail on Aug 27th (sent on Aug 19th)

Strangely, I haven't received the standard receipt notice, the one which is used for the automatic 180 days EAD extension (I might indeed need it, given the current waiting times...). I logged into my.uscis.gov using the code printed in the account acceptance notice. The account shows the EAD and AP applications, and it shows the two letters I already received (Biometrics reuse & Account Acceptance Notice), but nothing else.

Anyone here in a similar situation? Do they eventually send out the standard receipt notice? Or should I go with the Biometrics reuse notice to my employer's HR?

The standard receipt notice should get to you. If it doesn't then you can call the USCIS Service Center (or use the website) to request a replacement copy.

Correct regarding card delays. Not expecting mine anytime sooon. Officer mentioned this could take 3 month to produce but I could call if an emergency popped up. If you plan to travel you can ask for the passport stamp but I didn’t try because seemed pointless with COVID. I received my physical approval notices today.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't you need the passport stamp to prove you have lawful status if you don't have your green card yet? At least, that's what I got told by the Texas DMV when I asked about getting a full-term drivers license instead of a one-year temporary resident license.

    Oh nice!

    Congrats!

That means no need to renew EAD...

Have they given any update on it?

Still waiting for some acknowledgement of the EAD renewal after a week now.

Hopefully they schedule my interview Date.

I got a follow up letter for the EAD saying they would just use my old biometrics and once it's processed I'd hear back. Then today got the notice by email for the I-485.

Hopefully the GC appointment is sooner rather than later!

    Thanks so much....

Please Did you do E- filing? Is it prudent to use the new forms or stick to the old one? What were the additional documents you added?

    I am filing mine tomorrow.....

I still sent off the paper forms from the USCIS site simply because that's what I did before, though they did give me an E-Filing case number so I assume there is an E-Filing version now which may be faster

Please help me to understand this correctly.

If I have an I-485 pending, I dont need to pay to renew my EAD?

If I need to pay, how much does it currently cost pls?

Yes, that's right. If you have an I-485 pending and you paid the fee for that, you don't need to pay to renew your EAD for the (c)(9) eligibility category. (See https://www.uscis.gov/feecalculator and my screenshot)

    Thank you SO much!!
still free right? Because our I485 is still pending.

Yep! They accepted mine without a payment attached. I followed a recommendation to put a cover letter in with the paperwork saying that a payment wasn't included because I have an I-485 still pending, since they're overloaded right now and may reject it without checking otherwise.

I am still waiting on my GC interview. Still silent and no further update. Last update was “case is ready to be scheduled for interview”

I have a question, if at first I did not apply for AP, can I apply for AP along with my EAD renewal? My EAD is expired on March 2021.
with the COVID I do not know how long till they really schedule my interview. And how long the EAD renewal will take.
    thank you

I included both the EAD form for renewal and the AP form, so I'm hoping and presuming they'll just issue a new dual purpose EAD/AP card.

Hello!  Isn't there an automatic extension of EAD and AP for pending AOS Applicants?  My EAD expiry is Jan 2021... should I be looking into renewing mine at this point?  TIA for those who will give their input!

To my understanding, you can file up to 180 days prior to expiration of your EAD and the automatic extension applies if your EAD expires prior to USCIS issuing you a new one.

Basically, filing prior to expiration and getting an I-797C Notice of Action receipt saying it was received for processing extends your EAD for another 180 days AFTER it expires.

I guess I just don't understand how this wasn't required when we had our interview scheduled for April 8th but now they want it. How is the process and cost of getting the 693 completed?

    Thanks!

To my understanding, it's the responsibility of the immigrant to verify if they need to provide a completed I-693 which I think is a really bad way of handling things.

I had mine completed a week prior to my original interview before it got postponed. It cost me about $45 to get a Civil Surgeon to certify my vaccination record based on USCIS requirements.

You can find a Civil Surgeon near you using https://my.uscis.gov/findadoctor.

Hi all, we received our RFE today asking us to submit the I-693 Medical Examination and Vaccination Record form which a USCIS civil surgeon needs to sign and seal, along with submitting evidence that we have a valid marriage. I understand the evidence for marriage part but I don't understand why they now are requiring the Medical form now even though we had an interview scheduled prior to the shutdown.  Does anyone know what is exactly involved with the I693 of if its a big deal? We submitted the DS-3025 she received from Germany so I am not sure why this is needed.

    Thanks in advance!

They need the medical form (I-693) to certify that you've had all of the required vaccinations in order to immigrate.

This is amazing news since it probably means they're going to try and approve your case without interview!

So I got a RFIE from USCIS on or around May 22. They were requesting for a copy of my marriage certificate to make a decision on my I-130 which was filed more than a year ago. I haven't received any notice or notification that they have received the RFIE that I sent back, neither have they made a decision on my I-130 or my I-485 which has had the status Ready to Be Schedule for Interview since January of this year. I called them two weeks later after sending the RFIE and the representative said, there is no record of them receiving it. Is it normal for them to receive the response to a RFIE and not acknowledge receipt of it? I am going to call them Monday again. I am so worry that the deadline has passed, and they did not receive it.

(Disclaimer: This isn't legal advice and you should absolutely consult with your immigration attorney if you have one. If not and you potentially get a NOID or denial, get one.)

Call again ASAP and confirm if they did or did not receive it. Not responding to an RFID (or having USCIS not receive it) is really serious as USCIS could make an adverse inference against you.

I believe there was a 60 day extension for responding but that's ONLY for requests issued up to May 1st. So, your due date will probably be Sunday June 21st.

If you sent it tracked, tell that to the agent and confirm that the tracking shows it was delivered and signed for (or collected).

If you have a copy of their original letter and the USCIS customer support agent says they can't see a response on file you should immediately send a new copy with all the evidence via recorded or trackable mail. (I'd recommend something expedited too, e.g. UPS Next Day or Priority Mail Express)

I'd recommend including a letter explaining the delay and include a copy of the tracking receipt from the first time you sent it, if you have one.

No movement for us. It's probably time for us to send in an extension form for the work permit. Does anyone know where or how to do that?

See the "Renew an EAD" section at https://www.uscis.gov/green-card/green-card-processes-and-procedures/employment-authorization-document, but you should just submit a new I-765 with the appropriate documentation and fee (see https://www.uscis.gov/feecalculator to determine if you need to pay a fee to renew). You should also have got a tear-off section on the letter your EAD card was originally attached to that says "IMPORTANT INFORMATION - SAVE THIS NOTICE", this section should be included in the renewal pack for USCIS to speed up processing the extension but if you don't have it, it's not required.
