I applied mine after i got here, using my i-94, passport and other papers.
came in the mail around 3 weeks.
minneapolis, Mn
We tried to do that too this summer. But we waited in the ss office for an hour and a half, just to find out we were at the wrong one, so we went to the other (st paul or minneapolis can't recall) one and that one had a line coming way outside of the building and it was about 95 degrees out, so we skipped it. Applied with EAD, and that worked fine, except the 4 month wait to get the EAD/SS card...

Is there anyone here applied for ssn together with EAD? How long does it take for you to get the ssn after ead approved?
The SS card and the EAD card came the same day for my husband.

Hi
I just wanna know Which one is better for the medical examination the Anglo American or elshrouk elmohndsen hospital? It depends on their availability. My husband went to the Elshrouk hospital, I waited with him when it was time to pick up the results... it took a while, but it happened without any issues.

I’m sorry if this has been asked- searching is difficult on the phone for this site. What documents should be brought to the biometrics appointment?
3 hours ago, Lori Johnson said:I just checked my USCIS case status And nothing has been updated since January when the I-129f was approved. I attended interview in Montreal, received VISA, married on June 21, filed I-485 documents in late June and went for biometric appointment last week. Has anyone encountered this where case is progressing but nothing is noted on case status?
Your AOS has a totally different case number. You need to add that to your account.

Oh I thoughts u pay the money before u sent packet 3 not after. Thanks
Also- you don’t pay the money until you finish the ds-160.

Technically you can do it either way.

Mine used to show at embassy then out for delivery then ready for pick up....can you track your Passport and see what that says
Hahaha thanks for the suggestion. We looked on the aramex tracking app and saw it was delivered, therefore ready for pick up today. My fiancé just got back from picking it up! US arrival in 48 hours! 😀😀😀

For us (Dominic embassy) it went to issued then it needs to say ready...you can log in to the ustraveldocs website and see the status there it will show if it's ready for pick up or still at the embassy etc..
It used to say still at the embassy. Now it says nothing...

Good morning all ☺️We were approved may 7, the visa was issued 8 days later on May 15. They then send the passport to a “fedex” like office for pick up. It still isn’t there. I know it will be any day, but waiting ...I can’t anymore! My wait meter is broken. Anyways- is this normal?? The office is literally 16 minutes from the embassy. Why is it taking 4 days?!

For those of you who were approved at your interview when your status initially went to AP roughly how long did it stay that way before going to ready?
8 days.

My beneficiary had his interview at the Cairo embassy on May 7, I attended with him. We were given a quick and easy approval, the “congratulations your visa has been approved” letter and went about our day. The next day, may 8, ceac status changed to ‘administrative processing’ and shows case created may 8, and case updated may 9. Still in AP... don’t know whether to expect the “issued” status soon, or to worry that they want something more. The interview was so cut and dry and he only asked a couple of questions. We had piles of evidence with us but weren’t asked or given an opportunity even to share, just approved. I shouldn’t be worried, but I just am. I’m so ready for this to be done, and my fiancé here with me...the stress of the “hurry up and wait” might kill me.

Hey everyone-
so- the US consulate in cairo received my documents on april 7, and my NVC status is sitting at “Ready”. I have not received my packet 3 yet. I however already know the content of packet 3. Is there harm in sending in our documents? Per the NVC blurb - they are ready to receive them....
Thanks in advance.

Sdjk,
How did you find out when the first available appointment is?
My fiance and I are at that point in the process to be able to see that. We have created the profile on the ... website I can't remember the address of.... and have completed the DS-160.

OMG , My fiance from Egypt and I thought all we needed to do is file DS 160 and schedule the Medical Exam.
No! Have you gotten your NOA2?

I always thought that you should prepare all this paperwork to take it with you to the interview. Its the first time I hear that you send it to the embassy.
Nope. And in fact, you can’t schedule your interview until you have the tracking number from sending in the documents.

FYI:
The embassy in Cairo advises to have the medical exam 3 weeks prior to the interview date. My fiancé tried to schedule his medical exam, but the doctor’s office told him that he can’t schedule it until he has sent in all of the paperwork to the embassy. Does that sound right? I don’t see why he can’t schedule the appointment now. We are working on getting all of the documents to send to the embassy.
Yes we are aware of this.
56 minutes ago, sheksahim said:what paper work he has to sent to the embassy? it should be the other way around !!
It’s a variety of things that have to be sent to the embassy from packet 3. Egypt does things a little different than other countries .

I know many things about immigration process, my husband came from Egypt arrived in USA in Feb of this year, his interview was in Cairo.
Oh thank goodness. Thank you so much.

so your referring to Packet 3?
since there is in fact a P3 visa, clarification next time would be essential.
There is still no wait as soon as you send the documents and there is an open date you can schedule the interview.
My fault- I actually didn’t even know there was a p3 visa. Thank you for your response!
Khallaf- can I ask if your knowledge is specifically for the Cairo embassy?
